Please do a video on how to hook up the single pipe to my shallow well and also to my bladder tank . Im a city boy with my first well water system but pretty handy and would like to learn from you the best and easiest way to do the installation. I have already followed your videos on prepping the pump with the pressure switch all I need is learn how to hook all the pipe to well , bladder tank and to the house. I m a big fan of yours and watch all your videos , thank you so much you have saved me alot of money.

Great video, would it work to spin the pressure switch a 1\4 turn so the tubing fitting is facing the pump so you can put tubing onto the straight barb fitting instead of from bottom? To me that pump looks like a sewer pump instead of a pressure pump, just wondering
Very good video . Water entry could be a potential problem with this setup especially if the pump is mounted in a lawn . In an earlier video you had a 90degree connector coming off the pressure switch which would have prevented water entry . My motor got corroded due to water entry and the replacement was $500+

Can I do this with a pool pump running at 220Volt? The pressure is 10-20 psi though. Not too many dual pole pressure switches. THanks,!
Personally I would put a 90° brass fitting on the bottom of the pressure switch as well like you did on the top just to keep the pressure switch tubing from kinking. On my irrigation pump it came with a pressure switch and it already had a 90° brass fitting on the pressure switch.
I agree, however I gone a completely different route now where I don’t use the poly pipe anymore. Instead I mount the pressure switch on the main line with a tee and wire it up from there. Those poly pipe are problematic, either blow off, rubbing a hole from vibrations or dun damage and cracks.
Just changed a pressure switch on a shallow well pump with 1/2 HP 120 V motor - similar to the set-up in the video. Do I need to put water in the small water line to the bottom of the pressure switch to get the air out of the line for the pressure switch to function properly?

I have a similar pump, it’s wired 220 so how do I get 110 from the pressure switch or should I make the pump 110
Is the pressure switch only used for issues when high/low pressure occasionally occurs? Or is it intended to be constantly used such as shutting off output flow? Example; can I shut the garden valve off/on and relay on the switch. I'm hopping this is it's intended purpose and not a safety backup. Thanks!

Hey, nice video it was helpful, I have two subjections first instead of the torch to heat/melt the poly tube I have used boiled water in a thermos and had it ready and waiting hot. I dip the poly tube in for perhaps 50 or 60 seconds and it makes it pliable, so no open flame or gas needed. second, in order to cut waste of the female end of the power cord which I assume you toss out I would have cut it off perhaps a couple feet back just in order to reuse a perfectly good female end cord, now I can install the male end and have an extension cord of a few feet if the customer can get by with a couple feet less than the 100 foot. Less waste more savings.

If a pressure switch is being used it will need a pressure tank.
@@RCworstwater even if it’s being used for irrigation and pulling water from a storage container? I have a deep well so I’m familiar with how everything works. I would think when I turn on the irrigation system the pressure drop would turn on the pump and keep it running until a timer turns off the irrigation system. No? Do you have a video with the pump running? So now when you shut off the spicket the pump will shut off? And is a pressure tank needed or can you do without?
Yes the pump will shut off if you use a spigot, that of course is only if you have a pressure tank in the system!

anyone know after you do this similar set up why the switch bounces or surges on and off? do I need a small pressure tank or do I need a swing valve after the pump ?

Have you ever installed or used a Gould’s GT10 pump? I was hoping to use one to replace my J5s 1 inch discharge pump because I would like to up my discharge from the 1 inch manifold to a 1-1/2 but keep the rest of the lines off the 1-1/2 manifold 1 inch but up the size of one of the main lines to 1-1/2 this line has many 1 and 3/4 inch side shoots with regular garden hose faucets to each garden field 1000+ feet away. I have a 40/60 system now with a expansion tank. I think the GT10 pump said maximum pressure was 52 psi but is that full open and not necked down a bit if a valve is part closed? The reason why I want a larger pump is so I can sustain a high flow with multiple gardens open but still allow me to only open one, I can’t open more than one garden with the J5s now.

The pressure tank should be installed via a tee as close to the pump as possible.
Why did you move the plug to 120v? My pump is 115/230v so how do I know to leave it at 230 or move it to 115?

How do I remove the wires that are attached to the pump that were attached to the pressure switch? I got the pressure switch off but one of the wires is fried....HELP!
QUESTION !!! If ANYONE can answer I'd be most grateful. I live in the country and have a "trickle down" water system that requires a pump to carry the water through the house. I have had 4 floods in the last 2 years and each one blew out the pump! I am now on the third one and want to install myself to save money. I am connecting directly to electrical not an extension cord BUT that is the only difference to the basics of this video. MY problem is the 3 wires from the wall are ALL white so I don't know how to tell which is "hot" "neutral" or "ground" . Does anyone know how to tell? Oh ONE of the three is skinnier that the other two.

how do you install the pressure tank to it
I believe that instead of running a tube from the pressure switch into the pump itself, the pressure switch is plumbed directly to a tank. The pressure tank has a tee, so the pump feeds the pressure tank, and the pressure tank feeds whatever you need water for
What guage is L1 and L2 wires?
Your incoming conductor size will need to be calculated per the NEC. On this pump I believe it was a 12 gauge power cord.

Why not put a 90° on the pressure switch?
I pick wire cutters over all
Best way to heat the little plastic tube is with regular hair dryer so you don't melt it..

You would have been better if you came out of the pressure switch with a 90 to attach that plastic tubing to. You don't have to make a bend at the bottom of the tubing when you come out 90°, as you did when it was straight down like in your video

My house is so old and the electrical hooked to my pump looks like it's 1960s electrics. We have no water to the two homes that use the same cistern. I am not sure if I need a electrician to rewire the basement hookups to the pump. Or if a plumber is capable of doing the entire job, electrics included.
I would call a local pump installer and ask their opinion. They may have to come out and look at it.

Yes! Just make sure your wire size is big enough for the load.

you should have taken at least 10 to 15 foot of that cord with the good female plug in an added a male plug in to the other side

Did it cross your mind that the pump location is far from the power source and they needed a long heavy duty cord?
Please tell me why you just didn't install the pressure switch on a tee on the discharge port! Those CH switches were never intended to be mounted that way. And where did you learn about the use of wire crimping and insulation stripping tools, and the way you used that poor adjustable open end wrench made me want to cry for humanity. I apologize for the rant, I'm just used to seeing things done by experienced professionals.
