My 1hp jet water pump stop pumping every 15 to 20 minutes, once the cools down the cycle repeats itself. This is a new pump and uts first time in use. Is this normal? I'm think of returning it to the manufacturer.
That copper tubing leading to the pressure switch is another potential tip. Squirrels in our area chew through the plastic tubing that comes from the factory on some pumps and a local well company recommended I use copper instead. Thanks for the great videos!
I got one of those switches for my pump and it wouldn't let the pump turn on even when the cistern was full. You can use a silver or gold sharpie to write on a black cover. Do you have a link to the water tester?
Hello, i need some help. I'm using the two line version of this to draw water from the lake. Suction lift is 40 ft. distance if 87ft. The pressure fluctuates between 15-35 psi and will not build pressure high enough to shut off. There is a swoosh or surging sound that continually occurs. pump is brand new and has been primed. A new venturi, foot valve and screen installed at the lake. any advice?
Im m3ssd ip is it possible that my tank psi is to low for my pressure switch,? My tank says 25 psi empty the pressure switch nee says its50/30 . I like 60 /40 but have ot changed he pessure switch. I had a helper working on property . He stunk got rid of him . WHAT ARE THE SYMPTMS OF THE WELL IF THAT GUY CHANGE MY PRESSURE ? ALSO IS THERE A WAY TO RESET THE PRESSURE SWITCH?? I DONT HAVE ANY IDEA WHA ITS SET TO. S.O.S. PLEASE
Hi. My pump runs but it shuts off and the motor is hot. You can hear it clicking trying to kick in so I shut the power off sometimes or I don’t and hit it with my hand on the end and it takes off. It actually for 2 weeks worked fine but it’s doing it again. What should I check first? Thanks
My pump is showing water everywhere. Now i can't find out which pump is equal to the one i have. I have a motor company jet pump duty c55cxflg-3661 any recommendations on the best model to replace it with??
Thank you for all of the tips, but I have an issue that I can't find any info on and can't afford to call on a tech. We've had a lot of rain recently. It has caused the water to be white cloudy. I'm sure it's the fine white silt from the ground. My well is just over 4 years old with the MSE-7 pump. My question is, What do I need to do to get clear water again? I'm told that it isn't harmful but it still hasn't stopped from getting water from elsewhere for drinking and cooking, lol. I've done all of the simple processes to see if it was gas, air and silt...it's silt. No one has a video about it on here about this so I'm hoping for an answer from you. Can you please help me? God Bless
I just changed my well tank and I have the same exact pump. Switch won't turn off after 50 PSI. I wonder if I need to play with the switch. I didn't had that problem 4 days ago with the old leaking tank. Do you have any idea of might be the cause ? and should I play with the switch lol
Can you make a 2" deep well video. About the packer ejector and how to install it tips. Maybe talk about the importance of the gaskets on the foot valve end the "leathers" I've heard them called.
My pump makes up his own mind up now . With the valve closed by the pump i will prie to almost 60 psi. If i opn the valve to the house it primes to 50. Im so confused
I have an irrigation system that has 5 zones each outputting between 12 and 15 gpm. I purchased a new 1HP pump with capacity of 18gpm, what size tank should I get or is it best to go with a CSV ?
Hello Chris! What is your take on the 4.5 gallon tank recommendation from the cycle stop valve company? How much of a drain on electric consumption would a 15 amp pump running constantly have vs cycling pump? In other words, would it be cheaper to replace the pump at frequent rate than have to pay larger electric bills
I wished I saw this before I hooked up my pump. I did see other piping video using scedule 80 male greads into female galvanized fitting. Home depot don't sell npt threads on male pipe threads. Had to thread my own.
Sucking water from a creek for outside irrigation. I have a square D 40/60 switch. I think my check valve got stuck open (debris) and allowed the pump to suck air and probably burned up this pump. Going fwd, Is the low pressure cut-off switch used in place of or in conjunction with the regular pressure switch? Great job on the videos?
pump will be ok, then starts running constantly, warped pipes and then started cracking the pipes. We had pipes replaced, 6 days later it does it again, pipes came apart at the connections. Fixed again, was ok for a week or so and while we were washing dishes the steam became weak and the pump was running constantly again, but we caught it before it got too warm and kept the pipes from coming apart again. What could the problem be?
when installing a deep well pump and need 2 pipes going down can you attach the return into the other pipe with a T so you don't have to have 2 long pipe's going down in the well?
You need to buy the kit for your jet pump. Ejector, venturi, and foot valve. The further the two pipes go down to the ejector (and the shorter the tail pipe) the more gallons per minute, at a given depth of the foot valve
Does the m4 low pressure switch connect between the resorvoir and jetpump? If so won't it reduce my flow? 1 1/2" coming in? Am almost an expert because of you here in The Gambia Africa thank you for the series video's!
Jordan, if you don't have a tank tee then the switch should be tee'd in using a 1.5" x 1.5" x 1/4" tee. It will not affect your flow rate at all. Here the tee I'm referring to: ruclips.net/video/-m_JAaMORPo/видео.html
I have problem with my deep well jet pump and pressure tank, the pump pressure discharged the whole night and i need to prime the pump every morning. Any help please
John, it sounds like you have a leak somewhere in your suction line, most likely the foot valve. You'll have to pull it up and repair/replace. We sell foot valves here: www.rcworst.com/Valves-c80.html?Attribs=504&
Hi, I'm using a jet pump without pressure tank for an irrigation system. It was given to me, so I have no idea if I'm dealing with factory settings in the switch.. The pump sits on top of an IBC tank. The intake pipe is 1 1/4, 20ft long, with a footvalve at the end of it, resting on the foor of the tank.I have a priming-Tee with a pressure gauge just above the pump discharge. The pump only generate about 15-18psi with the tap open and 28-30psi when the tab is closed. The pressure switch sometimes rapid-cycles, but allows the system to run on open tap. Is my pump defective (low operating pressure)? Is 18psi too low for thge switch to be set to? Whatelse should I consider. I had hoped for the pump to generate 50 psi to run a sprinler system in my market garden.
I have a CountyLine 1/2 hp pump which has it’s own pressure switch. I’m installing a 32 gal pressure tank with a “T”. Do I need another pressure switch on the “T” also? If not, which switch should I wire up?
I have a jet pump and just replaced the pressure switch and my pump has 2 lines that attach to the pump why is my top line collapsing when i turn my pump on and no water coming out please help?
If the pressure switch is turning the motor off at 20 psi, then you need a new pressure switch or an adjustment. If you're running the pump flat out and dumping all of the water out to an irrigation system as fast as possible, then that may be the most pressure you'll be able to get. In that case, you'll need a bigger pump and perhaps a second well.
One thing to mention about using a meter to check the amperage draw of your Pompidou that the clamp must only be around either the positive wires or the negative wires while taking a reading. If you place the clamp around both at the same it will try to read both positive and negative sides at the same time and because the current is moving in opposite directions on each side they cancel each other out and will read ZERO AMPS.
A transfer pump does not need a pressure switch as you'll run it until all the water is transferred, e.g. when draining a swimming pool or filling a cistern. These are continuous duty pumps, however, like all pumps, they don't like to run dry!
It is just a general pass or fail bacteria test. If the test fails for bacteria then you know you will need to go to a testing lab to determine the types and amounts of each.
I'm not sure what I'm missing , I have plenty of water in the well. My line r about 99 feet down in the well. The water level is about 20 feet from the cap of well . Check all my fitting and no leaks.i just don't know what I'm missing. Every thing is new from the pump to the foot valve. And still only getting 20 psi of pressure.
MAKE SURE YOUR PRESSURE SWITCH IS ADJUSTED RITE IT SHOULD SHUT THE PUMP AT AROUND 45 50 PSI AND GO ON AT ABOUT 35 40 AT THAT POINT WILL PUT GOOD PRESSURE ON THE TANK BLADDER , I DID NOT ASK FIRST OF ALL, BUT I AM SURE YOU HAVE A PRESSURE TANK ON SYSTEM DON'T YOU? IF NO THEN MAKE SURE PUMP ITSELF STOPS AT 50 60 PSI
No water in the house, replaced everything new on pump and pressure tank. Holding pressure on the pump turn on water faucets in the house maybe get a drip the pressure switch doesn’t drop at all with all the water faucet on in the house🤔 although the toilet will fill up with water after time🤔

Do I need a check valve between the jet pump and the pressure tank?
No, just on the inlet. Typically this is achieved via a foot valve for jet pump systems.

does it have to be a ball valve on the discharge line? could you use a gate valve?
Either would work, but quarter-turn ball valves are preferred because they're much easier to open/close

Just replaced my jet pump ,water tank ,and lines going to the well plus the foot valve. I'm only getting 20 psi. I'm not losing prime.

"positive or the negative"? We're working with AC here. Not DC....
My pump not pumping what do I do
My jet pump running condition but no water properly please help me
Is the riser galvanized?
I have problem with pump, first start up in the morning the pump pressure is releases the whole night. So i need to prime every morning.
It sounds like you have a leak.
Sounds like a foot valve or check valve that is not working properly. Could be stuck open or obstructed with some debris.
How long can you run a jet pump? (continuously)
that's what i'm wondering too...
In what case would one not have a switch?
Which switch are you referring to, the pressure switch or circuit breaker?
A transfer pump does not need a pressure switch as you'll run it until all the water is transferred, e.g. when draining a swimming pool or filling a cistern. These are continuous duty pumps, however, like all pumps, they don't like to run dry!
make a video on installing it !! thanks
Why won’t the black one work?
I actually have water coming out of the pressure switch. Where the heck is it coming from?
That Stop cycle valve is $300 plus in de you said maybe 20 not here.
What kind of bacteria does your well test kit test for?
It is just a general pass or fail bacteria test. If the test fails for bacteria then you know you will need to go to a testing lab to determine the types and amounts of each.
What is general bacteria?
