Thanks, I needed to see the correct wiring sequence and you did great at showing it.
Glad I can help.
Thank you for making this video. It's super short and really informative. My dad passed recently and it's been a bit overwhelming trying to keep up with my house. I'll definitely check out your other videos, this video made the well pump job a breeze.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad that my video was helpful. If you have any questions reach out I'll do my best to answer based on what I know.
I’m in the exact same situation. Father passed away last year from Covid and been trying to keep up maintenance for my mom. Hard to believe how things tend to fall apart so quickly and how much work people were putting in to keep a home running. Hope you’re doing well as you can with your loss.
Nice how-to. Thank you!
My only suggestion would be to wrap all wires clockwise around the screws on the contacts. This will draw the wire into the contact as you tighten. Sometimes, if they're wrapped counterclockwise they can push the wire away as you tighten.
Good tip. Thanks. I always get the directions confused especially when I’m using Teflon tape on pipe threads. Lol
Some of the so-called pros videos should check out your simple and correct video, only improvement would be to point out center terminals go to the pump. Good job.
Thank you. I appreciate your feedback.
Excellent video.
I just used this to replace my pressure switch, restoring water to my house before noon.
Thanks for pointing out the precautions necessary to avoid death by electricity. I loved the tip about labeling the wires too.
Keep being awesome.
Glad I could help. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video, doing this tomorrow😂
Thanks.
@@Daddicated had to pause, the connection between the main and the switch is so rotten I have to put in a new T and connector pipe…great fun lol
Did the 220 get you?
@@caiman114 220 222 whatever it takes!😂😂😂

Simple and quality video! Easy to follow and even easier to sit through!!
Thanks
Thanks for this! Just bought my first house and my pump stopped working, figured it was the switch and it seemed simple enough to replace and this video verified the simplicity of replacing it. Hope the switch is the problem.
Edit: Do you have any videos on replacing the solenoid? If not, can you make one?
No I don’t have a video for replacing a solenoid. Good idea on making one maybe in the future I’ll make one but for know let me try to walk you thru it. So the installation is fairly easy especially if you are replacing existing one. Make sure you take pictures of the wiring and wire the new one the same way. The way it works it basically activates when it receives power so keeps it open or it closes when it loses power. This is considered normally closed. Now they have also normally open to where it’s the opposite. Where it is open position when no power and closed position when there is power. So as long as you buy the right one and replace your existing one you should be good. As far as the connecting the pipes to the valve itself usually it’s some threaded fittings that you need to connect between your pvc pipe and your metal valve. Best thing to do is figure out the size of your pipe, take the valve to Home Depot and see what fittings it would take to make the connection. Ask someone in plumbing to help you if needed. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@Daddicatedgreat walkthrough, thanks!
Going through your video repertoire during my downtimes at work. As a new home owner who never had a dad, youtube has been a godsend for teaching me the ins and outs of these things!
Lol. Thanks for watching. I'm not a pro by any means but I enjoy sharing what I'm learning myself. I learned some things from doing tile with my dad as a teen but a lot of other things learning the same as you. Just trying and doing my own research. Couldn't agree more that RUclips is the best place to learn this stuff. Anyway, I'm glad I can be of any help.
Very helpful, thank you!!
Glad I was able to help
Thanks !
No problem. Glad I could help.
Thanks
My breaker keeps throwing 🤞🏻that this will help
The metal piece that connects on one side broke off on mine , so I took a penny and wrapped it in aluminum foil and stuck in there , wrapped the tail of the foil around the wire to secure it 👍🏾 💅🏽
Nice. That’s what I call innovation. Lol
@@Daddicated thanks ☺️
Just found your channel. Looking forward to checking out more videos. Just got a house with a well system. Know nothing about them. Everything has a small leak so wanted to replace everything. My system doesn’t have an external pressure switch like your replacing. Is it built into the pump? Can that be replaced? The system is not easy to get to so I want to do as much as possible when I’m down there
Congrats on your new home. It’s nice to have your own place but like you said there is always something that needs to be replaced or repaired. I have a ton of different tutorials so feel free to check them out.
It’s hard to tell what your system is like without actually seeing it. I doubt that the pump has built in pressure switch since usually pumps don’t have them but I’m not 100% certain so maybe it’s somewhere else.
Pro huh!
Nah just a diy trying to figure out stuff and sharing with others.
never seen a well pump outside. Usually in the basement.
In Florida they are all outside. We don’t have to worry about freezing temps that’s probably why.
@@Daddicated we also don't have basements in FL lol.
I've never seen one in a basement, I also never seen a basement lol. I live in south texas, all our wells are outside
I'm using 12volt pump off grid. How would I wire this switch? Would i need 120volt still to switch?
Not too sure. Sorry.
Hey Andy, in your parts section you listed going from a 30/50 to a 40/60 PSI pressure switch. Is that correct? I always thought that you needed to stay with the original PSI which would be the 50/60. No?
sorry about the confusion switch that last 50/60 to the 30/50 in my comment.
Yeah I would stick with your original. I just had multiple in the parts section in case someone needs a 40/60.
Thanks Andy. Just subscribed. You do real good work and super presentations.@@Daddicated
Do you have to relive pressure in tank first?
Yes.
My nipple fitting broke on my pressure switch they used plastic instead of brass I’m hoping I can just replace the nipple fitting however the nipple fitting broke inside the pvc pipe and other piece broke in bottom of pressure switch
Ooo, I’m not sure. U might be able to take the broken pieces out.
My oressure switch keeps braking every couple months. Like i have to give it a snock for it to turn on
Could be ants getting in between the contacts. I had that happen before. Have you tried replacing it?
hi, my tank doesn’t have the bottom valve to drain the water what do i do
It's probably just in another spot. There should be something you turn that makes water start coming out. Mines not underneath its further to the left of the piping at the end.
yeah I agree with @nomaderic, it should be there somewhere.
alr thank thank u
Open a faucet in your yard after cutting power to your pump, your tank pressure will dissipate. Sometimes there's a valve on the water line just outside of the tank. That would be the best way.
I have no valve to release the pressure. Help???
Turn on a faucet to drain the water somewhere else in the system
What the previous comment said, just open any sink valve.
Since I don't feel comfortable doing this who do I call to replace it? An electrician?
Try to find a water filtration company in your local area that installs these they will know how to replace one.
The water just keeps shooting out no matter low long I wait for the tank to drain. How am I doing something wrong?
Not sure. Hope you can figure it out.
@@Daddicated 🤣🤣
Did you shut off the power to your well pump?
@clay1671 Yeah, the breaker was marked wrong. I had to shut everything off, and it still took a while for the water to stop fully. Then I had to re-map the breaker so it's all correct. Smh.
Still throwing the main breaker
Umm. Not sure why.
