Whoever hasn't seen Kameme has no right to say Sora sucks. I'm serious. People act like "results are everything." Well, Sora has results with Kameme. Now people are saying Sora sucks because "only one player can use him." I'll never understand this logic. Remember when Leo was the only one who can win with Joker? People were calling him mid...
People need to remember that only a few people can be top players at a time. Just because Joker isn't used by like 10 top 50 players, that doesn't mean he's bad. The same should go for literally everybody else in the game.
And besides all of this, Sora has a very good recovery, extremely good aerials that are safe on shield and start/end a TON of combos, has a billion kill confirms, Bayo-like strings, amazing edge-guarding, easy ledge trapping, great tilts, I can go on. How is he bad? I get he is slow and light but everything else makes up for it, as we seen many times.

Ngl whenever someone brings up Dabuz’s Sora “not working” it’s annoying as shit cause it literally came out 1 time and was lumped in with Maisters actually bad Sora who he tried several times to no avail
2:18 Now that you mention it. Sora's situation currently reminds me of what's happened with Noctis in Tekken 7 a couple of months ago (which is ironic considering how connected they are lol). For a long time Noctis was viewed as a mid-bottom tier (he's been in that game for about 5 years) and like Sora, the player-base had a super negative bias against him. Then recently Knee, (sort of the mkleo of tekken) puts Noctis in his Top 5 list of characters (for PC), and the whole community was stunned. He even put out a video to prove his reasoning as well.
But more so with Sora, I think it stems from how the neutral players/fans kept seeing him. Every time they've seen him, there's always someone saying he's not good/cringe or someone hates something about him (the obvious negative bias fans/players lol). Then once they see him in combat (which ironically is probably just a player who isn't as skilled with him specifically) and they get destroyed. But it's clear once they actually see a good Sora, they enjoyed and even respected his gameplay. For a long time, I've learned it has nothing to do with Sora in terms of the neutral players/fans, It's how he's been misrepresented player-wise before Kameme. But now that it's very clear to everyone, I feel like Sora's meta is going to advance in it's own manner.
This is the exact same problem with Marth and Corrin. This was also the same problem with Byleth until Leo played him. Insane how often these people write of whoever.
When Sora came out, I was one of the 1st people to lab his combos and show them off with friends. At 1st I thought I would keep going and always be updated with his strategies... but I quickly switched back to my Bayonetta

Everytime I see Kameme play, he makes me want to continue to level up my Sora. And after playing and actually getting good with Sora, I can say for sure that Sephiroth is worse than Sora. Which makes me depressed because they’re both the worst FP2 characters with the best trailers.…
The best Sora’s I’ve seen execution wise is Kameme/ DTP (This guy really knows the combos) and lastly probably Unleashed

The irony is that with this character, the lack of skill really is the problem. And if people get tired of him because his DLC status didn't immediately make him and easy character to pick up, then it'll just lead into a self fulfilling prophecy of bad Sora players quitting before they learn how he works. Clearly Sora has the ability to go against a variety of different characters, even if only few people have been able to show results in tournaments so far. But his playstyle is different that most characters. He's not a zoner, he's not a rush down, he's not even a character that's meant to get the drop on people. But he has lots of mixups and lots on good combo potential that's very difficult to pull off. It's just like in his games. In KH, you can play by pressing X the whole time and maybe win the base game, but if you want to fight any of the secret bosses you have to fight usually with pin-point accurate precision and skill. The way you play Sora in that context is way different that what's usually expected when you play him in a basic way.
The thing I see is basically people give up on Sora because they don't want to put much work into him...even though they have put hundreds of hours into other characters. It's instant gratification they're after, I guess. But eventually, someone who genuinely likes Sora is going to train enough with him to be very good, and then people will change their minds just like always. lol That's literally how the Smash community tends to work, anyway.
I feel like right now sephiroth is worst. I feel like eventually Sora will be better than minmin too, because I think minmin's matchups will be so polarizing whereas Sora will be better all around

To be fair, all the fighter pass 2 characters are broken, so I think you could absolutely make the argument that Sora is the worst. I think it’s sephiroth, but I wouldn’t super fault you if you said it was sora
I play Sora a lot I genuinely think he's a beast character. You got to learn him and be creative

I personally thing sephiroth and sora are high tiers with optimized sora being a little better. Sephiroth kinda just needs one weight or frame data buff to shoot him high though

I was maining Dark Samus with pocked Kirby and Lucas for a good long while when Sora dropped. I've since dropped Lucas and rarely touch Kirby anymore. Strangely I replaced them with Sora and Lucario.
It's their ability to do zone denial with excellent tools for close quarters. Samus is my long distance "hybrid rush-down zoner," Sora is my midrange, and Lucario is my micro-spacer. What really appeals to me is Sora's simple confirms that are really easy to fish for since you can get them off nair and fair.

Well said, Larry. I think it’s 51% the person, and 49% the character. The person controlling the character has just a tad more sway in the outcome of things. If a character just isn’t your play style, you’ll likely lack the patience to makeup the difference.

Even if Sora is the worst FP2 character, it’s by a very slim margin. If Seph is above him, Seph isn’t all that better than him (even though I think Seph is overrated and Sora is better than him). Sora is still a high tier character who can go toe to toe with some of the best characters in the game.
It’s like saying the 10th best player in the world is the worst top 10 player. It’s a true statement, sure. But he’d still kick your ass lol.

All that leaves is Sephiroth. I feel like it's more of a matchup thing. Since to me it feels like Sora can do very well in just about every matchup in the game. Whereas Sephiroth can shut down some matchups, but struggle quite a bit with others. However with how well Sora can do, I'd say Sora is definitely better than Sephiroth... Or maybe I'm just a Sephiroth main looking for excuses so it feels like my skills show through when I do well with Sephiroth, you decide :3

@@legrandliseurtri7495 Honestly they are both so good that I have no hard feelings one way or the other for that statement. They both feel like characters that once they get started, the opponent is basically dead. Just Aegis is more forgiving about getting started, and Kazuya is more forgiving about any mistakes due to being heavy, hurtbox shifting and invulnerability on some parts of him during attacks.

Sora is not the worst fp2 character. Its jyst underdeveloped meta, kinda like link. Have broken stuff, yet no one plays them exept sora have 1 good player
I think sephiroth and sora are very comparable of who is the "worst" (they are all really good at minimum and the rest are insanely cracked). Sora is better than sephiroth and not the worst FP2 character because of one thing: mashing. Sephiroth cannot press buttons nearly as much as the other FP2 characters, has shit frame data and OoS options, stupid end lag on many of his moves, has essentially no combo game, and is only able to get by because he has insane range and edgeguarding. Sora can do way more than sephiroth and has guaranteed kill confirms that are not that hard to master. Kameme has gotten results especially early with use of Sora way back when he was only fishing for nair 12 kill set ups for like every set. If you can reliably do a couple BnB combos with the basic kill confirms while having a good neutral, congrats you will probably will get tournament results. If more top players or up and coming players picked Sora up, he would actually do well but being the last DLC character with high execution and doesn't have an EWGF win button, people will just stick to what they know unfortunately.

The worst is Sephiroth and even he is good. He is a mid high tier IMO. I believe he is a great character but should be a secondary or have a secondary.

Oh, I've actually watched this video, lol. My opinion mostly still stands, maybe Kameme will change my mind, hopefully. But I can't see Sora being too strong.
I've been in very heated discussions about this topic. And by "heated" I mean I left my opinion on a video and it's still getting replies.
My opinion on Sora so far is that he's a mid tier. On the high end of mid tier, but mid nonetheless. And my reasoning for it is that he has a lot of good tools but because of his awkward floatiness, he can't actually put himself in that many situations to utilize them. Despite his insane recovery, it's very exploitable. Because he's very floaty, he gets juggled a lot. He's actually oftentimes just spending most of the game attempting to get out of disadvantage.
And this is coming from someone whom currently mains him. Yes he has combos, yes he has kill confirms, but some of the more lengthy combos are character specific, and he has to fish for the kill confirms. There's not many situations where he can just play neutral and suddenly get a kill off an interaction. He doesn't have a fully invincible button or insane range, nor not even that speedy.
He plays more honest than people think he does.
Oddly enough, i think Seph does well vs Sora but Seph is definitely the worst of FP2 imo. Range can only mean so much when shadow flare sucks, you have a massive hurtbox, you're as light as pika, and dog shit frame date. Don't get me wrong, he's not a bad character because that range shuts down a huge amount of the cast but when the rest of the FP2 and other top tiers can pretty regularly kill you off one or two interactions (Sora might be the exception but he definitely has better loops and touch of deaths than Seph), I don't think there's much discussion after seeing what Kameme is capable of. Optimal Seph at top level is just run away and spam bair.
The argument of execution and skill barriers in turn down for waltz video makes no sense given the history of metas and most games. The higher execution and higher reward characters always end up in the top 10 character echelons in almost any game sometimes even best character in the game. Sora is a character you have to basically solo main and practice. No character in the game plays like sora either really. Sora will eventually rise if the community stops having preconceived notions about the overall roster and realize the strength of advantage and long sequence combos along with high damage potential when it comes to some characters and when i say high damage potential i mean stuff like if a marth player tippers and spaces well they can potentially kill you at 30-60 percent depending on stage position and such or if you get hit by one attack a combo could lead you to dying at sometimes even 0 percent. Kazuya is already proving this to an extent. In other words Sora is kind of busted. Noops and foops are no joke. Worst FP2 character is hands down sephiroth. Sephiroth has pretty bad framedata, no great OOS option and also doesn't have the best neutral and advantage states while having a pretty bad disadvantage and only a decent recovery with a bad weight class.
i do still think sora is the worst fp2 character. it isnt just about results either, like i just dont think he's as good as sephiroth.
Sephiroth is my main and sora/wolf are my secondaries and its way easier to execute things with sora than with sephiroth since missing a move with sephiroth can lead to your demise at 70
