In Today's video I am doing a live reaction of Kagaribi 10 in which Acola and Zackray play their first set ever against each other. Acola being the current best player in Japan and Zackray being the previous. Also downstairs neighbor started shouting, so that's why I am so quiet at the end.

Something wack I learned about pit because the main dude I used to play smash with was a pit main is it’s actually better for pit when you break his down b shield. The animation of it breaking is shorter than the animation for putting it down so my friend would actively try to down b shield strong moves so he could true punish with an f smash

I don't think I've ever seen anyone play Ultimate as aggressively as Yoshidora vs Acola. He was relentless
And despite the optimal aggressive play against Steve, all it takes is to over extend once and get hit by an anvil, mine cart or back air and die early

Zackray actually thinks Pit is better than ROB and prefers him to Joker because he’s more consistant. He might be right, Pit is kinda like Sheik with having a really good neutral and good kill confirms. U just have to know the combos and kill confirms to win

I wouldn’t say he’s that good but honestly, people think Pit is just like his smash4 self still. He’s not “too honest” anymore, and I think he’s high tier and is so boosted by the players fundies. Like Zackray
Edit: Zackray has some interesting takes but he also plays both Rob and pit so maybe he knows something I don’t

both Zackray and Zomba thinks this is true, Zackray dropped him for a reason. Also, this is only applicable for the HIGHEST level of play

Rage quitters are the best, lol! When someone sd's or disconnects I fly into a fit of laughter at the poor fool that just gives up, haha! I just wish you could save those games! I would have a huge library of rage quits, lol!

@crazykhespar8487 I'm not saying acola sucks in any way. He's a very serious humble competitor. But if he didn't have Steve I dont think he'd be pulling the results he has been.
Acola is a top 200 player, no doubt. If every top player picked up the character that needs banned, he'd slide back down to where he's supposed to be.
At least he's a respectful competitor

The way Zackray was using acola’s blacks against him was inspiring. He really did show the people what happens when you learn the matchup. He had a few unfortunate missed confirms like landing dair to up tilt up air jot connecting bcs his up tilt can be janky, but Zackray played the MU fantastically and gave acola a run for his money. I really hope to see them play again soon. I think acola will have a lot of prep to do to beat Pit’s high mobility and great spacing options.

In no world will I ever think Acola is a better smash player than Zackray. I would even say Yoshidora and Hero are better than Acola as players. I'm just glad Sparg0 destroyed Acola's Steve.

I'm gonna be blunt, sorry to whomever this offends, but Zackray is a much better player overall than Acola. Using a bona-fide mid-tier to go toe-to-toe with the undeniable best character in the game and have some dominating moments is nothing short of pure skill based. Acola may have the best results, but he's not the better player. Take away Steve and see how he fares.
Competing at top level changes completely how match ups are. It’s how you utilize the tools you have to win and stopping the opponent from utilizing theirs. Steve is a good character, but it’s not like smash 4 Bayo, he has clear weaknesses that are exploitable, Acola just knows how to play around them, and stop Zackray from abusing them. To be able to use Steve the way he does means he could do it with just about any character. There’s talent there.

@@n10tan1gam1 His movement (initial dash, max speed, air speed, jump height, and air acceleration. On top of also being kinda floaty, but lightweight and combo susceptible) is bad, he lacks range, his frame data isn’t the best either, and his attacks are tied to resources.
All of these weaknesses together means approaching and getting enemies off of you is harder than normal, especially if you have no resources. Steve suffers heavily against the more ranged characters due to this too, since they can apply pressure enough to stop him from mining easily, but he can’t go for attacks. He has the slowest initial dash in the game, which means every character if they start running at the same time as him can catch him really well, and his jump height is the worst too, so it’s harder to use movement as an escape option, which is really valuable. Steve wants to get away to get materials to compensate for this weakness a bit with anvil for escaping juggles and minecart for edgeguard situations. If Steve has no Iron, his disadvantage is very exploitable. If you’re applying constant pressure to Steve, he can’t mine and has no materials, which limits his options to an already limited position. People do like to say his disadvantage is the best in the game, but I think that’s a lie. His recovery is slow and highly telegraphed, minecart can be punished, placing a block in the air can be punished hard, but probably your best option, and his aerials are very slow or in the case of n-air, super low range and short lasting hitbox. All of his good escape options take materials of some kind. You can also destroy the crafting table to force him to use more materials to make a new one. If you’re on a stage like PS2, Kalos, Hallow Bastion, or Northern Cave where cobblestone and iron are all that can be mined, it takes 4 stone and or 1 iron to place a new one. Which is something to abuse. He also mines slower in general on these stages, since you get less materials to use per every few seconds. He starts with dirt on these stages, but can never get any back, so he might want to mine back the walls or blocks he’s placed to save them, or you can destroy them so he’s forced to use his iron and cobble for walls and combos, limiting his resources.

“PMLG will never come up in a match” - 27:28 says different
That was SDI. You would’ve seen an Airdodge or an attack on PMLG. You can also see the white mash effect when he’s getting out, indication of SDI.

@@palkia9063 no. The PMLG is when you place a phantom block and that creates that state. If you slow it down, you see the “unable to create block” animation
@@hugeculo PMLG is when you use that state to negate hitstun and dodge out. He didn’t dodge out, he was still in hitstun, which shows he didn’t use PMLG
@@palkia9063 he did dodge out what are you talking about? And PMLG is not to dodge out, is to avoid hitstun and act immediately. Whether it’s a dodge or an attack lol
Acola is trash, if he was playing a real character he’d be top 10 at best
