The Swiss Pools format was a much needed breath of fresh air for the Smash scene (remember the full hour of tiebreaker sets at Ultimate Summit 5?)

I love how melee and ultimate mirrored each other here.
A new #1 seed who's been fighting for it all year, but they got upset super early to the terrifying ice climbers mains who took names this event.
The eventual winner has been in a bit of a slump recently despite past dominance over the scene. This tournament solidifying their stance as #1 at least for now.
They beat their main rival, who people had reason to belive they would lose to. Zain beating Ibdw who won their last 3 sets and Mkleo beating acola, a great top level Steve, a character who infamously 3-0 3 stocked him.
Some differences to contrast them were that Leo stomped whilst zain clutched, and the fortune of lcq players. Kurama getting 3rd and joshman having a broken arm and losing heartbreakers, Shroomed pulling the classic of losing after qualifying, and Trif who walked from the airport to go out in the last round of the lcq

I find it crazy how much people slept on Leo for experimenting with agis. He liked the character and tried to make it work for three tournaments solo agis (except last game vs tweek on summit). Too many people forget how bad he did on his first tournament with joker in Japan. This is what happens when the undisputed goat of ultimate decides to experiment with characters he has fun with.
Both times in the last 6-8 months when Leo said he was try Harding he stomped the bracket. This is very scary. The fact that someone can say “fuck it I’ll be serious” and run over the best players in the world like it’s a hot knife on butter is nuts

Truly an incredible tournament! I hope we get a break down of Kurama and how he was able to live to insane percentages as Mario against the world's best! His mix of aggressive pressure/combos and defensive movement were unmatched besides Leo

As a EU viewer, we don't get to shine on this tournament.
But I'm glad that Sisqui gets more opportunity to train with top 10 players.
Gluto beats Ddog and Sisqui beats Tweek, I think they can both be proud of their runs.
I'm sure they will surpass their MU demons someday.
Also, I can't wait to see Bloom on the US again.
Anyways, it's a really fine recap as always ^^

This tournament was the best one imo. So many great things. Ignoring the run and the characters, the production was amazing.
    - We could watch every single game
    - Swiss system
    - Coach casting (idc what you say, I love that format of having people goofing around)
    - No ads. I repeat, NO ADS (aside from the sponsors)
    - Generous prize pool
    - Great music
    - Beautiful UI
    - No problems in the production (for me)

This was one of my favourite tournaments to watch. Every match was sick. The Mkleo run was insane, but watching all the stacked players vs each other was also super good to watch.
This also sounds silly, but I didn’t realise Kurama was Prodigy.

Overal great video but the one part that I think was a little disingenuous was selling the rest of the Leo vs Kurama set as a cakewalk, as kurama was litteraly 1 frame off winning game 3 twice. I still think Leo would have won, but he'd have to do it through a game 5

All But Kurama got an F rating grade (3-0). Kurama was the only one that got a C grade for beating him once and activates His Divine Pulse gift (Game 4 Leo power up).
