RIGHT when Smash Ultimate came out.
All my college friends left. Online kind of grossed me out. I had no motivation to keep playing...aside from the occasional Pac-Man combo video here and there.
I guess some people are destined for greatness, and other people....grow up.
And either path is fine. And if it isn't....well...it's never too late.

As a Bowser Jr. main, this makes me happy. This was very fun to watch! I've been practicing and I'm hoping to start playing in tournaments soon. I'm coming for you. You cannot hide. Just wait like a year or two.

Yes sirrrrrr I’m dangerously close to working for a living but Port Priority is motivating me to join the Seattle smash scene lol
Buffs that would fix from a Jr mains perspective:
-Revert mechakoopa changes to allow it to walk thru shield (smash 4 style)
- decrease lag after dropping mech
- allow kart to respawn when soft hit out of up b recovery
- make fair hit box match the animation (slower than the animation currently)
- reduce startup/cool down of ftilt (match banjos)
- increase grab range (worst tether currently)
- increase horizontal aerial mobility (make Jr the aerial based heavy)
cart is for air mobility
Jr doesn't have a tether, it's just a grab with decently long range BUT it's extremely slow coming in at frame 11

As someone in the Dutch community, Eevey is still very active in his scene. Sharing a province with players like Mr R means he isn't the very best in his region, but still a force to be reckoned with. He hasn't been entering much, but he does TO his own tournament series that has grabbed the attention of talent all around our country and has become more of a dad to younger players (Old Eevey). He still very much loves the game and isn't ACTUALLY retiring anytime soon

Funnily enough, Young Eevey actually organizes my locals, so I actually know him in person. He’s a great guy, and still does a lot for our local scene. He also played Pikachu this week at our local, so he’s trying out some different stuff 👀

A look back on Jr's competitive journey is something I never expected! Jr (or lemmy) has been my main since smash4 so its cool to see a deep dive on such an overlooked guy, I truly love how unique people's playstyles are from each other

Bowser Jr is just fun. I hate people that complain that he isn't based around Sunshine with the paintbrush and stuff. I would NOT be as drawn to Bowser Jr if he was like that. I love how he pulls out buzzsaws, drills, a fork, a cannonball, etc. His kit is so much fun. The only downside specifically IS the sunshine thing they kept in his Final Smash. I really wish they changed it so that Bowser Jr and the Koopalings get on an airship and bombard the battlfield
It's just that his sunshine appearance was really iconic, and apart from mario maker, I've never even seen him in a koopa car. A rare smash bros misreprentation

Oddly enough, Bowser Jr. has been showing some promise on dealing with the Steve matchup. Maybe this might inspire some players to invest some more time in them, unlike the current Bowser Jr. mains who have lives to live and responsibilities, lol
I'm a Steve main. Bowser Jr. is OK against him. I feel that Simon destroys him
Bowser jr. actually has a few unique ways to deal with the steve matchup. One of them is the fact that as jr you can use dair to go through steve up smash fairly consistently. Jr also has 2 ways to escape Steve's jab combos which are his dair and fair which both have a frame 1 landing hitbox.

The sentence *“turndownforwalt made a Smash Ultimate video about Bowser Jr.”* sounds like it was A.I. generated. Completely out of left field.
Something I really wish they did with his kit: Instead of up special being Abandon Cart (or whatever the name is), I think a better move would be to use his cannon, pointed downwards, giving him about the same distance. So on the ground this would create an explosion similar to his current up special, and in the air would shoot a flame downwards out of the cannon, burning anyone in the hitbox beneath him, but not spiking.
No mention of the best bowser jr main and NU game room legend fingees!? In all seriousness tho this was one of my favorite videos from you guys yet and I’d love to see you guys do this with other characters

I am also a full time member of society who was seen as a great Jr in my region of SFL. After lockdown, I stopped attending events and rarely stream smash anymore. Something I thought would be in my life forever has now devolved into an side event at a weekend hangout with friends all because of a retail job. Who knows what the future holds, but I'd like to be better one day. My tag is Duck, but you probably won't find any notable results on SmashData

I’m a bowser jr main so it looks like I’ll have a bright future lol! But fr bowser jr mains seem to be good at having a work-life balance which is really funny because the character is made fun of. I’m hoping to be the next big jr main in smash bros ultimate. I’m the best in my school, so hopefully I’ll go places

I hope to one day see a video on Meta Knight, but only after he's been able to improve more with more varied results. Bonk is carrying him rn, but Abadango's recent performance and new Meta Knights moving up the ranks makes me happy. It looks like he's developing into an important part of Ultimate's counterpick gameplay with his face showing up on many player's character lists that I saw in this video.
Give him time to develop past the gimmick of ladder and bridge combos, and he'll be tearing up brackets, or at least helping do so. In example, Abadango showed off an option Meta Knights rarely used even after the buffs to it in Ultimates Final patch, up throw, for kills.

One of the first Smash tournaments I ever watched was Low Tiers for Smash Wii U at Glitch 2 and probably one of the last times Tweek played Bowser Jr. competitively. It was one of the most hype top 4 matches I have ever seen. No joke.

Wait what? Well, I do suppose Palutena's Nuetral Special and Side Special can still get Bowser Jr's poor defenses, though if Jr is about to be comboed by a Nuetral Aerial, just use Up-Special and then Palu will have to clang the cart itself or take damage from an explosion. I did this consistently with Palutena in an online match.
Morton isn't all that bad. Maybe Nintendo's writing team for Mario has been currently in a recent state of "not existing" but there's been good stuff done with him, and that could be done with him. Actually, all of the Koopalings should get another chance, especially with the opinion that I have that they should be their oen characters separate from Bowser Jr and that Jr should have a near entire rework with his paintbrush being made a part of his moveset, and his Koopa Clown Car having more explosions, especially with his cannonball, and he should be able to breath fireballs.
Its just like regular college volleyball. You have awesome players until they graduate.

Maybe I should have stuck with Smash, man. I played nothing but Jr. in 4 and did pretty alright at locals, but competitive anxiety and...school/my job took their toll. Happy to see that both his results and tier placement are better in Ultimate, godspeed.
It's funny because the ones who play characters like Bowser Jr. or some other low tiers are the ones who do something apart from playing smash
