- Autumn kicked off this weekend at Glitch Regen, a Smash Ultimate major hosted in MDVA at the storied Xanadu venue. Here, Squids Plumbed, Sora Soared, and an American player finally won a major with a prominent Japanese player in attendance. Little Mac had to be one of the most exciting "worst characters" of the tournament. Would love a Analysis of Alternis and the Nut

Just like in his game Its always fun to see an underdog.
Kameme was the highlight of the tournament for me, I absolutely love sora and am so happy to see kameme show the US what Sora is capable of!!! Good on Squidplumber, saw he was 77th seed and I had no idea who he was but good for him!!!
Squidplumber is MDVA PR, he's really stepped up his game lately. Really good on him!
The production value of these and the scripting, the delivery and energy of the narration, its getting better with every single video. Keep it up all the players love it
The surprised screech at Little Mac having multiple top 32 reps sent Me. XD Really proves how balanced Ultimate really is. Low tiers aren't completely useless anymore, they're only as low as their best player, and if there's one thing I've learned from watching this channel, it's that the Smash scene is loaded with GOATs nowadays.
And a Dr Mario got 3rd at a Japanese major recently. The bad characters aren’t that bad! :O
Only character I can't see doing well in majors is Ganondorf, but even then he can get a stock from 4 or 5 neutral interactions so maybe we're just waiting for someone to pilot him well.

Glitch Regen has to be my second favorite tournament of 2022, simply because of a lot of underrepresented characters actually showing up and doing well. Seeing high-level Sora and Hero gameplay was a real treat! A lot of underdogs actually doing well was also super hype to see!
Edit: In my mind, Glitch Regen is a major. It's so unfair to not call it one just because some top players DQd. We still had a lot of strong talent there. Honestly, there's a lot more debate regarding what tournaments qualify as a major, so I think we should start developing more solid major-determination methods.
It is still a major due to size and a decent amount of top players, but it was one of the lower ends. Although watching low represented characters do well is always nice to see, especially smub with his Ridley.
Just because a tournament doesn’t have Leo, Riddles, Proto, Gluttony, etc. doesn’t mean that it isn’t a big deal. This and Riptide proved that.

It's weird how people are even arguing about this because we had Light, Sonix, Ling, Kameme, Ken, Ned, Jake, Zomba, Jakal, and a few other big names there. There are so many other players finally getting good enough to contest other top players, too. I think we'll see a big change in world rankings within the next 5 months.
I genuinely love “Mickey Mouse Majors.” They’re so much more fun to watch imo, just more laid back and meaningful

Pretty sure Slashy's run to 17th is tied with LeeT's SnS5 as the highest solo Mii Brawler placing at a North American major! He was also the lowest seed in top 32 by far, down at 114th
I remember Wildz once booked a Metafy session with WaDi, but instead of wanting a typical lesson, Wildz just wanted to play against him a bunch. The final game count was 9-5 in WaDi's favor.
Yeah I remember that too, really cool to see wildz go from a wadi metafy lesson to top 32 at a major within a few months.
The kid is insane. He has only played for a year and he can play a ton of characters. He makes our scene proud and is such an awesome kid.
Even if he wasn't as prominent as Sora, seeing some of the Hero's come out was nice.

Looked like a hype event. Wouldve loved to have been there with yall in person. Seeing Jackal continue to represent the local NJ scene is great. 3 years ago After he dusted my chrom and Palu in my furthest winners bracket run at a weekly and after watching him face Rivers in epic grand finals after epic grand finals knew very quickly he could be competing with the best in the world.
I lost it when I heard "quandale dingleingleton" - oh my gosh what an amazing tag. It's one of those things that's just silly lighthearted fun to say. Definitely a favorite, yeah :3

@@maxlimit9129 I heard that, allegedly, Disney was always fine with Sora's inclusion. The real roadblock was Nomura because he wasn't sure how it will impact the lore of KH. Not sure if that's true but I hope it is because it sounds so ridiculous yet fitting at the same time.
I loved Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as a kid so seeing it become a meme recently in competitive smash, no matter the irony, has me joyously laughing along. Hot dog!

That emotionally charged and energetic "LET THEM HAVE THEIR FUN!" scream at the end was genuinely something I could hear an anime character screaming. Let your narrator know they did a fantastic job, and they could definitely get a side gig as a VA if they haven't already.

American Smashers are crazy American centric. They ignored Japan for the longest time as well and now they are winning everything. There are even tournaments in Africa and the Middle East, too (I myself am Moroccan)
