    Purchased. Have been eyeing reverbs for a couple years, not pulling proverbial trigger. Man! Glad I waited.

    The Premier Spring is bloody beautiful. Maybe a smaller pedal just for impulse response reverbs would be good too!

    It would be really cool to have a smaller pedal more affordable dedicated to impulse responses.

      Yes! The other two choices on the market right now have problems.

    @strymon I just got MX a couple hours ago. So far great fun.
    I’ve updated to latest firmware. I don’t have any presets after 49 B.
    A lot of the impulses in this video sold me on the MX….but where are the ones shown here such as “Premiere Drip” and “Oily Can”? I’m bummed it doesn’t appear to be on the unit or I’m misunderstanding something. Where can “Premiere Drip”, “Oily Can” and any other presets demoed in this video from 50a or up be found or uploaded into my MX? Thank you very much if you can help me out!

    Have you considered making a complex hardware rackmount multi-effects unit with 6 to 8 ins/outs? That would be an amazing single unit solution for effects plus save a lot of space for synth and drum users. I own a BigSky, Cloudburst, plus 2 H9 Max pedals and definitely prefer Strymon over Eventide.

  • @JTB--

    So did they cram the Cloudburst ensemble stuff into the BigSky MX?

    • @TheSpaceGuitar
      @TheSpaceGuitar 5 месяцев назад

      I hope not, I bought the cloudburst and the brig last Friday…

    • @strymon
      @strymon  5 месяцев назад +2

      Cloudburst's Ensemble feature has indeed been added to the Cloud machine, but it operates in a slightly different way, as BSMX has a bunch more horsepower to throw at the algorithm. Your Cloudburst is still rad, don't worry!

      @@TheSpaceGuitar Now that's bad timing. But you've still got 2 excellent pedals

      @@TheSpaceGuitar return your Cloudburst and get a BigSky MX. I own both a Cloudburst and regular BigSky and the Cloudburst barely comes close to only the Cloud setting on the BigSky.

    how many IR's can I load of my own onto the unit? I intend to get a few IR's of chamber/studio live room reverbs of different sizes and color and use them as a "glue" reverb for mixing a live band - your huge space IR's are great but I need something more subtle!

    • @strymon
      @strymon  Месяц назад

      Hey there, love that idea! As far as IR management, it is best to keep the IR management on BigSky MX at a maximum of 60 folders that contain a maximum of 50 IR files each. The BigSky MX firmware may not be able to handle too many IRs within a single folder, so it is best to stay within these limits.

    Wait, am I reading right, this is dual true stereo processing? This changes everything. This means its full studio rack mount quality
    Can we expect the same for timeline, mobius and volante?

    Does the IRs replace the cab filter on the original? Can you use the pedal direct into an interface and have a cab filter on when you use distortion?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  5 месяцев назад +1

      You actually get both! There are 2 IR-based Cab Filters, one which you can use with darker sounding guitars or preamps, and one for brighter ones.
      In addition, you still get the classic BigSky Cab Filter, which uses an amp-like EQ in conjunction with the high frequency roll-off and notching that occurs with a mic'd guitar speaker.

    Can i connect big sky to arturia keystep midi controller? If yes how please?

    • @jeremygorszczyk
      @jeremygorszczyk 5 месяцев назад +2

      A midi controller as its name suggest only sends midi information and not sound.
      You would need to reroute the sound from your sound card or audio interface back into the Bigsky input, and the bigsky output back to the soundcard just like any other pedal.

    Ah I hate to be the grumpy person but I reeeeally loved swell a lot, it was just the biggest oceans of reverb. I will pass out on this one

      Hey there - Swell has been incorporated into the Hall machine, so the behavior is still there, don't worry :-)
