There is reading about his range, then there is him showing off different registers in different songs, and then he smacks you over the head with this song.
The 4 voices of Tim Foust, Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Counter-Tenor. What a tour de force. There is also some fun in My Maria with Austin Brown (the high tenor from Home Free ).
Wassup Nick. Tim is not just a singer but a true entertainer. He does a lot of the commentary at Home Free concerts....his "Storytime with Tim" series...many of them are on RUclips are often very hilarious !
Now that you’ve heard Tim’s range you should listen to HF’s version of Mayday. It will take what you know about them and kind of turn it upside down (in a good way). Great request and reaction!
Thank you Randall for requesting this one and thank you Nick for a wonderful reaction. You might also enjoy Tim Faust singing with The Bass Gang doing Hooked On A Feeling. I might also suggest a few of Austin’s stunning performances on his channel; Bring Him Him Home, Tears In Heaven or Georgia On My Mind. Thanks again and have a great day!
Thanks NIck. I've been subscribed to your channel for quite some time now and really enjoy your reviews. You have so much more to check out on Tim's channel. But I also see others have sent you performances to check. One that I particularly love is his Hooked on a Feeling with the Bass Gang. Also, see that you've been told about Austin's channel. He has some truly amazing performances there. By all means, check his channel out too.
It's amazing just how often in various Home Free songs Tim goes up and beans a high harmony part then jumps right back down to bass. One example of this is in the Austin original Love Me Like That. The harmony part just above Austin's lead was right at that part where Rob's voice breaks -- he could do it, but not comfortably -- so Tim does it instead, and then literally goes right back to bass. You never realize how often he does things like this unless you pay a lot of attention to the high harmonies (you'll also catch Adam Rupp up there sometimes). Tim's voice dropped very late. Until it did, he was a tenor, and had won quite a few awards as a tenor, so he's invested a lot of time in maintaining that upper range.
WOW, Takes me back to 1963 when I was 14 years old, when they did wonderful harmonized singing mixed with Doo wop. Had to get up and dance. Tim is the best. Love how it made it his own with the Stay a Lot a bit longer instead of stay a little bit longer. Made me laugh and put a smile on my face as always.
Every time I hear this I have to marvel at the points where in a single chord you can hear most of his 5-octave range. And I love Chris rockin' out in the control room. The whole doowop album is great. I especially like his cover of the Beach Boy's "My Room".
He has a whole album of songs he did like this. Three others have videos on RUclips: Come Go With Me; In My Room; and Since I Don't Have You. The rest of the album is definitely worth audio only reactions if you do those. I have heard interviews where he talks about his voice changing very late. He was already taking voice lessons prior to that happening and decided he wanted to train his entire range. Obviously, he has been very successful with that!
Tim is amazing with his 5+ octave range. Austin Brown and Adam Chance also do solo work and have there own youtube channels Austin- Country,R&B, Soul and Musical Theatre Adam Chance-Folk,Sea Shanties and Country Chance has collaborated with Peter Hollens And The Hound and Fox ( many times ) Both channels a worth checking out
He’s one amazing human being….just love what this man can do …. So Funnnn 🙃🔥‼️💗‼️. That album is Great 🔥💗🔥‼️‼️‼️ I love blasting in my suv boppin down the freeway ❤️🔥‼️❤️🔥
Yes, Tim is mostly the bass in Home Free but we’ve seen songs where he sings in the tenor range and he’s amazing. It’s so cool to see him sing in the basement, then sing up in the attic and then when he speaks he’s back in the basement. Other songs from his album are In My Room (Beach Boys song), Come Go with Me. Then with Home Free try Mayday and Snowglobe (written by Tim). He’s super talented.
Another great rendition by Tim Foust. Love his new cd with all the older doo-wop songs. His voice really suits this genre of music. We know he can really bring the bass but how about his falsetto? He has a 5 octave range. I have always loved these 2 songs from 1960 "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles & "Stay" by Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs.
Youve made this old woman very happy Nick..😁... So amazingly done..you never even mss the instruments... Tim's storytime in concert is some of the funniest stuff I've seen... Thank you...have an excellent day...🌿🌿🌿
Great reaction! Your face glows and your eyes shine when you are delighted. What a pleasure. Isn't Tim amazing! A perfect example of his 5 octave range!
SO GOOD! Love that Tim's bringing back doo-wop 🥰 (Now we know what a 5-octave range really sounds like❣️) And to think he might have gone into dentistry or teaching and we would've missed out on his musical genius 🤯 This is so unbelievably fabulous! I only wish this video didn't fade out before he hits that final high note! I really want to hear his incredible finale to this gorgeous arrangement! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Oh !.. Nick !..i almost forgot... Home Free just dropped a live cut on YT... 💥...Sea Shanty Medley Its phenomenal !...give it a watch...not only for how great they sounded but it looks like a Trump rally there were so many people there..😄... 🌿🌿🌿
Tim is great, I agree. I very much enjoyed how you listen to music. Now, I think you need to listen to Austin sing Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. It’s on his RUclips channel.
TY for listening to Tim’s solo album (well one cut from it but every cut is spectacular). His 5 octave range is amazing and makes you wonder how he does it all so seamlessly
I have gone out of way just to find Tim’s music along with the group HOME FREE. I’m hooked on this group and am planning to go to live concerts and more than just one. ❤
That's "our" Timmy 😁 Constantly and completely blowing our minds. But then again, so do all the guys of Home Free, in their own individually talented ways.
Tim is great. You need all 3 of the big Acapella basses though. Geoff Castelluci has quite a lot on his channel and Avi Kaplan of course also since he went solo as a singer-songwriter after he left Pentatonix.
You should also check out the Backyard Bashes Tim Foust does, usually with one or many of the following artists: Austin Brown, Adam Rupp, Adam Chance, Chris Chatham, Tim’s sister-in-law (sorry-blanking on the name-she sings & plays fiddle), & Jeffrey East, & Ernie Halter. They also have a new group called Sweet and Low Music Co. with Tim, Austin,Chris Chatham, Jeffrey East, & Tim’s sister-in-law (I may have gotten one of those incorrect. If do, sorry!). Anyway, heck out the stuff you can find on them, too! There are a lot of informal live videos from those events that are really good, and also quite fun!
I’m getting in on the ground floor for your Xmas music: O Holy Night, Silent Night, Mary Did You Know, Full of Cheer, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, Cold Hard Cash. These last 3 are good time songs
I love doo-wop, Motown and the like (I think I'm too old to appreciate contemporary pop, rap, etc.). Tim has an entire doo-wop CD - his 5+ octave range is astonishing. If you haven't heard his duets with Austin of "My Maria", "What's It To You" and Austin's original "Hers Ain't Mine" (all on Austin's channel) - I know you'll like them. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
Another couple you'd enjoy are 1) Austin Brown and Tim Foust covering "My Maria", and 2) Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix.
Just an incredibly talented and nice guy.. We have had the pleasure of seeing Home Free in person a few times and he is the front spokesman for the group... Very funny, human. I just love him. Are you familiar with Brooks and Dunn? Check out Austin Brown and Tim Foust's cover of "My Maria". Just wonderful music. Thanks! Stay safe!
You haven't seen anything yet. You want to see jaw dropping, try Nessun Dorma. There is a reason when fans ask them who is the most talented, they all point to Rob.
Listen to Snow Globe. He wrote it and leads the song. You'll see him in all his glory and hear some interesting sound effects by Adam Rupp and also their production manager Darren. Love that song.
Thank you for your reaction to Home Free. Now you've heard the top 3 Acapella groups. I don't think you have to compete with who is better. Home Free / country and old school. Pentonix/ more pop and current. Voiceplay/ more theatercal. But Home Free is my favorite. They can do basically all genres. Keep on doing as are. Remember... reaction videos are how you react. Not how we feel on how you should react. Blessings to you
Nick, speaking of layering, and collaborating Tim Foust and a friend of his, Peter Hollens, have a duet called "Misty Mountains." It is a very cool Hobbit song.
@@nickforell1 Peter Hollens’ version of “Misty Mountains”, featuring Tim Foust, is quite different than Geoff Castellucci’s. Personally, on this song, I give the edge to Geoff on vocals, but to Peter on the overall product. And no one can match Tim’s ‘bass face’. My favorite Peter and Tim song, is actually “Greensleeves”. A very simple one-shot performance video.
We call that kind of thing a WTF- What The Foust !!!!!! *chuckle now do Come Go with me and the one with Peter Hollens it's a Billy Joel Cover one of Tim's favorite songs- And So It Goes !
Since Chance joined the group, Tim has more opportunities to show off his range in the group because Chance has easier access to take over the bass range when Tim sings lead. Chris Rupp could do it, but not as readily then as he probably can now.

Thanks for watching! Our five octave hero.
He’s absurd!
There is reading about his range, then there is him showing off different registers in different songs, and then he smacks you over the head with this song.
Tim singing ALL of the Home Free ranges in one song.
The 4 voices of Tim Foust, Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Counter-Tenor. What a tour de force.
There is also some fun in My Maria with Austin Brown (the high tenor from Home Free ).
I love that one.
❤ bet he could hit soprano if he wanted 😉
Yes one of my favorites is Tim and Austin doing my Maria
He does it in Snow Globe as well, I didn't realize at first it was him going up into the rafters. That was the first song I heard him go that high.
@@bettycouch1782 I love his doowop album!
Wassup Nick. Tim is not just a singer but a true entertainer. He does a lot of the commentary at Home Free concerts....his "Storytime with Tim" series...many of them are on RUclips are often very hilarious !

Jamie, I’ll definitely do that! I feel like the rabbit hole is endless
@@nickforell1it is, and very addictive 😂
It really is and Mayday is definitely one of my faves of theirs it turns everything everyone knows them for on their heads lol
Thanks Randall! We all needed this one today. If you look closely, even the studio engineer looks suspiciously like a dude named Tim Foust.
Haha oh snap he does…
I believe the studio engineer was Tim’s friend Chris Chatham. They work together quite often, and he is in the video for “My Maria”
5 octave range and Tim does them all with no effort! Your expression is priceless! Great reaction! Howdy from Texas 🤠🤠🤠
Tim has a five plus octave range. Incredible!
Tim Is a beast!! Best vocalist out there. The talent that is HF is unmatched

Me too!
Oh lucky you Kim!
I've watched about 30 reactions to this performance. His range is amazing!
