They may have discontinued the EF-M line, but it is FAR from useless. Lots of RUclips channels STILL use EF-M cameras, including mine. My Canon M6-Mark II is a really great camera.

I am using the EOS-M with Crop Mood to put breath life into that sensor. I've even used it as the A-cam in most of my recent videos.

I’ll say it, it’s a mistake. The RF mount cameras are just too big.
The M line are just better designed. More people want compact and versatile over specs.

I think there's a place in the market for a smaller camera. The Ricoh GRIII and the Fuji X100V did great this year.

@joepublisher166 I agree with you and @forkrightfilms above, because my EOS M and M6 Mark II complement my Fuji X-Pro2 handsomely. They do everything a hybrid creator needs in a discreet and compact package.

Got an m200 to replace my old RX100 as an upgrade with a minimal footprint that could still fit into your pocket. With the 22mm pancake and the 18-150 lens in the other pocket, you have a fantastic pocketable camera system. That's the one you're most willing to take with you to take far superior photos than your average phone camera.

I'm still using my trusty EOS M as my cinema camera to make videos for my channel, this camera was my window in to cinematography on the budget 😊 I paired it with vintage m42 mount lenses and it's magical 😄👌

I almost bought into the system a few years ago. Someone pointed out that the system was dying. I had my heart out for the M50ii. But instead, went for M4/3. Glad I did.

I looked at all the Canon M and R cameras, and decided the camera I really wanted that fit my style and what I wanted to shoot, was the Insta360 X4.
I've had a big chunky 4:3 Nikon D50 for 15 years, and already know I don't like big heavy cameras, and they never get taken anywhere.

Same! My family's photos are superior to those coming out of any phone camera simply because the EOS M system is so portable! A few months ago I got a used M50 as a back up to my M6 II just because I love all the little lenses.

Sony was first with the NEX-3 and NEX-5 E mount cameras that came out in 2010, 2 years before Canon

I just sold my Canon M6 II and accompanying EF-M lenses and got a used Canon 90D which has similar specs and is native to the EF lenses in my collection. I presume the EF format is on the way out as well but I'm sure it will be a very very slow fade. .

I love my m50 mk1 with the lenses they produced covering all focal lengths to try and do everything + super light and small system is what win me over. EF-M lenses price was also amazing for 1 pro lens I could buy almost 3 ef-m lenses that's a great value but... The Big problem is I was told that Canon is big solid company and their lenses doen't loose on value it's like investment I can sell and buy bigger one if I decide ... so I went full into EF-M mount just to see prices are off the cliff... who does this... If they don't want to invest and make new EF-M lenses ok but make a new body so we can use equpiment we bought over years... but no, they won't do it and I dont' know why... those RF lenses are so expensive it's out of the question to even consider staying with canon in future ... seems like they go screw small hobbyist and focusing on overexpensive pro rich customers that is exact opposite of what canon-M series was - at leat that's how I feel about it

It’s small and light compared with the RF cameras. I have both. What a shame. It is small like the Olympus micro 4/3rds

I am annoyed at Canon. I acquired an M50 mk II shortly after it came out. My previous camera (which I still have) being a Canon EOS 20D. My first Canon was an AE-1. I acquired the M50 mk II for its video features. Fortunately, 1080P is more than adequate for online video distribution. While Sigma appears to be in lock-step with Canon, I am hoping that Chinese lens manufacturers will continue to offer new lenses in Canon M mount. For that matter, it is fairly easy to adapt at least some Micro-4/3 lenses to Canon M mount. If I switch systems, it will be to Sony. That is what my professional landscape photographer cousin recently shifted to.

I considered the Canon EOS R100. However, I ultimately ended up going with the Sony Alpha 6100 because it had a much more robust lens system and I also have had very good experiences with Sony products in the past. I have to say it was the right decision. I think I would have been sorely disappointed in a year or two if I had gone with the Canon system. The A6100 is a much better camera. Canon markets the R100 to users coming from smartphones who have never really used a camera before and while that is me I don't think that it is a good fit considering the type of photography I like to do and how no nonsense I like my software and hardware to be. I'm at close to 5,000 shutters on my A6100 which was bought on September 25th and less than 10 of those were shot in auto mode so the R100 would not have been good for that. Obtuse brightness controls, no thank you canon. I don't need it to be easy to use, I need it to be powerful.

If cannon came out with a dedicated cine lens that was f 1.2 zoom from 18mm to 200mm for this line, I would literally pay $1k for said lens. I am sure a third party could easily take me on the challenge. Hint hint.

Sad. M6 mark ii looks best and compact. I can’t stand the ugly bulky design of R series. If people want lighter weight and smaller size from DSLR, then what’s the point of buying R.
