- In this video we install the Procharger on the 5.7 R/T (RT) and take it for a test drive! It took about 8 hours to get it done, with some time outs and playing around. Shake 'N' Bake sounds even more glorious if that is possible!

My channel is dedicated to the Challenger / Charger R/T (RT) 5.7 liter HEMI, though we touch on the 6.4 (392, Scat Pack, and Daytona) and Hellcat (both base and Redeye trims), continually adding modifications to get the most out of it. I currently own a cammed Challenger RT 5.7 Hemi. I try to bring content that is not only informative but hopefully entertaining. I do not want others making the same mistakes I did and hopefully save you some money in the end. I am dedicated to taking my 5.7 liter Hemi in its stock form as fast as it will possibly allow me. My current list of modifications is extensive but there is plenty more to come. If you are modifying your 5.7 Hemi, this is the channel to watch. Modern Red Hemi does it affect your A/C at all? I was planning to boost myself, but I live in Phoenix and my R/T is my daily
@@bighomie95873 have not ran the A/C with it yet. I'll have to try it and see, but all the temps look around normal so I don't think it would be an issue.

When ordering you’ll need to call which ever vendor you are buying from and tell them you have a 6.4 intake manifold so they will send you the correct parts bag for the plenum and 45 elbow.

You just have to make sure whomever you are ordering from knows you have the 6.4 intake manifold and Procharger will send you the right stuff.
Holy crap it’s in! Once you get the tune dialed in it’s going to just fly! Im sure you’ll get a lot of guys won’t believe it’s a 5.7 under that hood! Be sure to give us some general driving impressions too, I’m interested to see what the road manners are as well as the super low ets at the track! Assuming it’s open for a bit longer that is, ours just closed for the season and I had my last track day Saturday. Cheers brother!
Thanks brother! Dial in process is started, just going to take some time. I have folks already not believing it's still a 5.7. Lots of content coming on the very things you are asking for once it's dialed in. Ours are open till the end of November, weather permitting.

I have a question I don't know if you can answer it but can you use the holley high rise intake manifold with a either stock throttle body or ported like 102 pr 112 with a procharger or no?
Pretty sure you can, unless you have a Shaker.

Good choice! That's the best way to go. Just make sure you are looking to the future and buy mods that are going to support forced induction and not just NA

Awesomeness!!! Been wanting to get the Procharger install, cam and gear swap and Dynotune on my ‘15 RT Challenger. Big $$ mod there.. lol. Current mods so far.. 85mm throttle body, Volant CAI, Kooks headers/ long tube with high flow mids. Check engine light still on from Header install.. Suggestions???
If you don't have a custom tune you may get that pesky CEL. You can try getting an O2 fouler from Autozone or Advance Auto. That should do the trick.
Thank you. I’ll check it out. I was told I had to take it to have it dynotuned. That’s a trip to Alabama for me and 5 days before I can pick it up. BTW. I’m retired military also. How about an oil cooler... is it necessary?
How did you get the car to start up so that you can drive it to the shop for tuning? Will I have to tow it?? I recently ordered a procharger tuner kit and will be Installing it at home.
I got a start up tune from my tuner. I would talk with your current tuner or future tuner to get the same. If you are email tuning it, they can tune it from there. If you are dyno tuning it you can at least drive it there. 😉

That is so sick man. Great video. I can’t wait to see her rip down the track. Seeing as though the shaker is no longer functional how did you cap off the part of the Shaker that went to the rubber tube which then went into the Mopar Air Filter? I am going to run a stock air box this winter and want to cap that off so water doesn’t enter the engine bay from the Shaker. I was thinking of trying to fit a PVC pipe cap over it. Thoughts ?
Thanks brother! I can't wait to hit the track as well. I never thought about capping of the Shaker. Just so happens, the opening to the engine is direct beside the air filter for the Procharger. Honestly, was just going to leave it like that and see what happens. If it becomes a water issue then I'll cap it off. At this point a little extra cool air in the engine bay can't be a bad thing (except for the water issue you bring up), right? LOL...
Modern Red Hemi that could actually still be very functional the way it was set up you could always cap it off or cover the front of the shaker if you are going out In Heavy rain or something.
Question: does a supercharger work with an already modded engine? If it has a cam and some headers? I’m new to this stuff and plan on making modifications to my challenger when get one and later add boost
Yes, It works with a modified engine as well. It all works together. 😉
With the procharger did you have to turn off the active runners in the intake?
No and I don't plan on it unless Jay tells me to.

Modern Red Hemi S&B is gunna roll with this fall air
By any chance do you know why the ProCharger has those 3 areas above the belt that looks like there should be screws but there aren’t. Every ProCharger I’ve seen including mine has those missing and I’m just wondering why, if the screw hole is there, no screws are inserted?
I believe it has to do with the orientation of the back part. Ours are down low and others have a different orientation that utilizes those holes. 💪
@@ModernRedHemi oh Interesting. So, I put some socket head screws in just to fill the holes so it looks a bit better. I’m assuming that shouldn’t cause any issues or problems. What do you think?
So that little leg you cut off on the Shaker base is one of the drain holes. Whats that draining onto now? The new reservoir?

keep an eye on the coolant temps. the intercooler is blocking a majority of the airflow to the radiator. nice build.
Thanks, will do! That's one thing Mike, Kevin, and Jay all told me to keep an eye on. That short drive obviously didn't push the temps but going on a longer ride soon.
He’ll be fine , that’s why you wanna run the 160 stat and fan settings are the key, my procharged 392 never goes over 185 even when beating on it.
What kind of handheld tuner came with the procharger kit?
I already had my T2 but you can get whichever tuner you want (primarily HP or Diablo). They are not locked into a specific tuner. 😉

Thanks brother! Hopeful to get some track videos soon. I have the maintenance package through the dealership. I think they use Penzoil and I get full synthetic with an SRT filter (they haven't charged me for the upgrades yet though I do spend a lot of time and money there ;-))

Isn't the air that enters through the shaker sent to the supercharger filter? Does the shaker have no function, just as a decoration? Sorry for my ignorance, it's a sincere question. Great videos.
So, when it was stock there was a tube that went from the shaker to the cold air intake, now how functional it was? Good question. Once I went to the ProCharger I no longer used it, so then it was just decoration for sure; though it put some cooler air in the engine bay when moving, how much difference that makes? Not sure. Would it be possible to run it from the shaker to the ProCharger, sure, would it hurt or hinder it? Not sure. My guess would hinder it. 😉

Did you buy the kit for the 6.4 Challenger due to your 392 intake manifold?
It's not a full 6.4 kit, only portions of it is from a 6.4 kit. Just make sure whomever you order it from knows you have a 6.4 intake manifold on a 5.7. That way you get the right pieces.

Only upgraded the fuel pump which should be plenty.
Modern Red Hemi was it a drop in fuel pump or did you make some modifications cuz mind gave me alot of problems when i changed it

Absolutely. Mike, the guy doing all the work, has a Procharger on his 392 and just ran a 10.8 at the track.

What kit did you buy and what extra did you have to buy?
I got the tuner kit with the race intercooler. I also got FIC 650 injectors and a 525 fuel pump. If you plan on going E85, I would get at least 1050x injectors and a dual fuel full return fuel system. 💪💪💪
Did you have to change your transmission?
No, I am still running the stock HP70 but do plan on swapping to a HP90 pretty soon. I wasn't having any issues back when I did this video but have done many upgrades since then and now the HP70 is limiting me to where I am. 😉

The best thing to do is either call ProCharger directly or deal with someone that has ordered a ProCharger for a Shaker in the past. I bought mine through Andy a Waldorf Dodge in Waldorf, MD. You can look up Waldorf Dodge and call the parts department and ask for him. He will definitely do ya right! 💪

Where did you get your procharger from?
I got it from East Coast Moparts in Waldorf, MD. He ordered everything for me. Whomever you order it from, make sure you give them the list of modifications so you can get the right parts; especially if you have a 5.7 with a 6.4 intake manifold (the throttle body mounts totally different). 😉

@@woodlandgrains6087 I don't think it has anything to do with the ProCharger but will not know for sure until we take the heads off and take a look. It's the dreaded Hemi Tick and believe it's a bad lifter and if that is the case the cam is probably shot too. Will get a video up soon on where we are on diagnosing the issue.

why do you have to remove the whole front end of the car?
To get at the radiator and the brackets you have to replace/add. 😉

A dealership has a 2015 challenger r/t 92k for $22,995 with the procharger set up but it's too much power for my first challenger 😭
😱 Mine is a 2016 and I am almost 94k! It's not too much if you take your time to learn the car and don't try and come out of the gate WOT.

How much did you pay for the installation?
I did the work, well a couple of friends, did the work so I didn't pay anything for the install. Me guessing, you would pay around $1000+ for install.
Is this a P1X,P1SC,D1X,or D1X unit ?
D-1X. Wanted to make sure I had room to grow without having to send it back and get re-geared.

You definitely need a custom tune, either from ProCharger or another tuner. I had a custom start up tune to run the car. 😉

Tempering my expectations but looking for high 500's to low 600's with everything else I have done.
On your videos I don't need to see your face I need to see what you are doing to me car, and special tools/angles to remove or install parts and additional stuff I need to know about this install. Check out a Chrisfix video for example. Good luck and thanks for sharing your knowledge!

awesome build, but with everything you have put into your car you could have just bought a hellcat. Your interior...needs work. all that red crap around the steering wheel and dash looks so cheap, and the steelers headrest is just bad.
I've done a video, we a couple, on what I spent on the build and I am at least $10k or more less than a Hellcat and at the time I couldn't afford a Hellcat. As for the red accents and the Steelers headrest, let's just agree to disagree 😉

No, you could have definitely bought a hellcat with what you have in your car and the car itself. Nice car dont get me wrong- you just put way to much into it imo.
