    That's excellent, hitting all the points no one else touches on. Side lights are the whole reason for my interest. As a pendant, on a neck chain, that's your hands-free work light when you didn't expected to need it. Headlamps are for when you're expecting to work; keychain lights are for when you've got your pants on. Necklace, baby. Won't ever be without it.

    I've got the little Rovyvon Aurora A1 (USB C version). I've got about 8 or 9 other lights (up to as powerful as the Thrunite Catapult). This A1 has to be my favorite. For it's size/weight/price (paid $22 for it), the lumens and throw are pretty much outstanding. Battery life is very good, too, imho. The larger switch would be nice, but it's still a fantastic little light! It's in my pocket virtually all day/night. Really enjoy your reviews!

    RovyVon was king, and priced accordingly, but I've had pretty good luck with some of the copy-cats. Maybe the battery life is less on those, I haven't checked. For half the price, or less, might be worth it. If the Rovys allowed you to _replace_ their battery, that'd be important... but they're selling some pretty pricey disposable lights. So is Nitecore, of course, with the TIP and TUP. I have mixed feelings (mostly poor) about over ~$30 items that are disposable. It's not like LED tech is advancing fast enough, any more, that a 5-year-old LED light is going to seem inadequate in some way. 10-15 years ago? Different story.

      There are Rovyvon lights that you can change the battery in. Or if you k ow how to solder you can take apart one and put a new one in that way.

      @Paul Bales a lot of companies are doing just such a thing these days, unfortunately. You can always go with the replaceable AA or AAA battery lights, but the convenience of plugging in a charging cord and forgetting about having to purchase batteries constantly goes out the window.

      @@Stevens_EDC_Reviews That is why I use rechargeable AA & AAA - Nimh or rechargeable Lithium

    • @radellaf
      @radellaf Год назад +2

      @@Stevens_EDC_Reviews Well, most of us (all of us, in the hobby) aren't purchasing batteries, just recharging NiMH or LiIon on external chargers. Arguments can be made for internal charging. No argument holds water for non-replaceable cells.

    Hi, I'm new to your channel and also RovyVon. I really love your review and am impressed with the RovyVon offerings. However, what I can't understand is why the static red light isn't the default side light option. Surely, if you are woken in the night, the red light is kinder to the eyes and would be the goto option ahead of UV or the white reading light. I don't think that this is an option. I would prefer red light options , then reading light options before UV, which in my opinion should be uniquely selected. Any thoughts? Thanks Allan 🇬🇧

    • @todderbert
      @todderbert  Месяц назад +1

      I agree. RovyVon needs to redesign the UI for RED being the Default. Makes sense in any circumstance.

    I have a fun question. Do you think if the body of this light started yellowing, you could paint on some hydrogen peroxide and just turn the UV light on to bring it back to normal?

    • @todderbert
      @todderbert  Год назад

      It would work on the lighted area, not the entire body. You would need another UV source for the back side.

    Can this light be operated while charging? And do you think it is possible to disassemble that think to change that Lipo battery if it is exhausted one day?

    • @todderbert
      @todderbert  Год назад

      Modes while charging: ruclips.net/video/8pOJ4C2SZ6g/видео.html , There may be a way to pull the top away from the body to slide everything out. May have to watch flashlight forums to see if someone has done this successfully.

    Does anyone know the milliwatt on the UV led? I want to replace my Nitecore TIKI GITD with a keychain flashlight that has a more powerful SECONDARY UV led and USB-C instead of micro USB.
    I already know about the Nitecore TIKI UV, but I don't want the primary LED to be UV and I don't like micro USB.
