    What a fantastic video and most enjoyable to watch. I have many cool white flashlights and recently purchased the Olight Warrior X Pro which only comes in neutral white and I am really liking how the objects you shine it on retain their true colours instead of being dazzled by a white hue. 👍

      Thanks go go gadget dad ;-) I enjoyed making this one, every time i make a video it informs me a little more on lights, when i first say the tiki i was expecting a terrible knock off rovyvon but i was wrong it holds up great and its cheaper!

      If you can get a 5000K neutral white SST20 _without_ green tint shift, you will be set for life. The CRI on it is nothing short of God-tier. I have one on my Convoy M2 and take a guess at how much I love it. 😍

    I think the biggest thing is the nitecore is more then comparable and coming in at under $20 makes it less then half in most cases of the rovyvon. $20 isn’t that painful to throw on keys and it break or get wet or lost.

      Yep completely right. if i was buying one id pick the TIKI. cheaper (looks)( brighter. and no PWM on low settings. well done to nitecore.

    Thanks for the nice comparison mate 🔦👍🏻
    RovyVon fan here 😉
    I have the A8U (4000k) version as my "neck" light, and I also use the A5R as my keychain light!
    Unfortunately the A8U has some visible PWM on almost all modes except turbo, and that is - honestly - the major flaw I find in that light!
    However, while picking the same style/design and similar UI that RovyVon came up with, Nitecore couldn't correct what was wrong: PWM! 🤦🏻‍♂️
    They lowered the price and it makes the TIKI more attractive of course. 🤑
    But looking for this kind of light, I would choose the Aurora A5x or A8x (that are the improved versions) over the TIKI! 🔦
    BTW, Jetbeam is also releasing a similar flashlight, the Jetbeam Mini One SS, that comes in similar style!
    Again, thanks for your comparison and work with these and other lights, mate 😉👍🏻

      Thanks mate. I think of I was in the market for presents for Christmas or something I would buy a load of TIKI lights although the buttons on them don't feel as nice as the Rovyvon ones, that low price is what clinches it for me. I'm busy doing some runtime tests on the TIKI and it's doing great. Should have a review up after carrying it longer. I'm tempted to replace my archaic ti3 from thrunite on my keys. Have a great day 🤝😎

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 года назад +5

      I would pick the same. When I first saw the TIKI I was expecting a crap copy of the Rovyvon but they made something I want on my keychain. Well done nitecore, credit where it's due.

      @@TrailTrek if nitecore will come out with a version of the Tiki with a red secondary LED instead of the UV, i would gladly get one again... note: i know there's the LE version but i'm not into law enforcement so no need for a blue/red flasher... a steady/strobe red or white secondary combination would be a lot more useful.

    Really enjoyed the new format could you please put on screen what lumen level is being shown at any particular time?

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 года назад +4

      Good point i should have pointed that out, on this video they are both running at max output. so thats 350 lumen on the Rovyvon and 300 on the TIKI.

  • @mrmixjay

    nitecore seems to have more diffuse brightness or am I wrong? if so it seems more powerful even having less lumens

  • @TopDog8762
    @TopDog8762 3 года назад +6

    The Nitecore seems brighter because of its tint.

    • @TrailTrek

    Why 300 lmns seems to be brighter than 350?

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 года назад +6

      Very good question, what is happening is that the nitecore although only producing 300 lumens is using a white tint. This is then looking brighter. This is why tint can be important. You will also notice this effect on lights that are throwers. A warm tint will look less bright at the same output yet the beam will appear to throw further for example. I hope this helps explain.

    what battery are you using?

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 года назад +1

      For these lights they have a lithium ion battery with a 130 mah capacity. I hope that helps answer your question.

    Hello friend
    Can you tell me about a new release from fenix EO3R 260lumens... 1.8 inch in length..

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  3 года назад +1

      Hi it's a ok light but I would wait for the nitecore tip SE. That is slightly longer but still has 2 led and is 700 lumens instead of 260 which is low level. Nitecore tip SE will be out soon and is a better alternative to this light.

      Thanks for the feedback I understand where you are coming from, the thing is for me if I shorten them I spend all day relying to comments saying "why didn't you talk about A" or "you didn't cover B" and so on. At one point I tried adding a timeline but now RUclips is adding the feature to the seek bars at the bottom so you can skip bits that are boring or useless. In the mean time I'm happy to answer any questions on items to save you having to sit through hours of me rattling on 😁. Thanks again for the feedback. Have a great day.

      That's why there's a little bar at the bottom it's red you put your finger on it and pull it to where you want it

    • @TrailTrek

      Valid point. I still get messages saying cover more and also asking me to cover less. So I guess those that like super short reviews can use the seek bar like you point out. Have a great day mate.
