Yesterday my mom cleaned the kitchen and found an incandescent maglite solitaire. I decided to look in the battery compartment to see if it was corroded and it wasn’t. The brand of the battery was an energizer that went bad in 2012 and energizers are usually ten-year batteries. That means that flashlight hasn’t been touched in probably 15+ years. knowing Maglite as soon as I turned the bezel, it turned on, and shortly after, the battery died. That truly shows how reliable these flashlights are.
05:45 "...painted" finish! No, all Maglites are anodized. They're all made from aircraft-grade aluminuim (aluminum) that is then electronically anodized, which admittedly is a beautiful finish, especially in the red, green, purple and blue Maglite options.
I’ve owned many of these through the years and presently own the LED version featured here. This is a big improvement over the incandescent version. Many of the incandescent Mag Lites would have a spare bulb in the cap beneath the battery spring.
I’ve owned one for a few years and would have never guessed there was a spare bulb hiding inside. Sweet, thanks a lot!

Lately I've been checking out the dollar Tree for $1 flashlights the types they have change every few months and some never return once sold out.

I had a AAA incandescent plus several other Mag-Lites over the years. I have a D cell one still somewhere but the others have been lost in time.
I’ve been carrying these for years, and they were a solid option when they were $10-$12. The problem is now the price is so inflated that they are in Microstream territory, and that’s certainly going to make them less appealing to a lot of people. (Myself included)
Hej Todderbert thanks for the video interesting flashlight it is very tiny which I like. I was also impressed by how strongly it illuminates an area and when you unscrew the top you get a nice light mode with candle mode. I'm placing an order for this flashlight and 10 years warranty is also impressive. A perfect flashlight to have in your pocket for quick lighting. Take care Todderbert have a nice evening.
Ebay seller has push button end caps that fits this and the aaa x2 maglite. For about $11.00.

Nice review sir. For some reason those AAA single battery Maglites always seem to cause battery leakage for me when using alkalines, especially Duracell’s. Other than that I’ve always liked them.
duraturds ALWAYS leak,killed a 6d maglite with duraturds,had to sacrifice a 2d mag to fix it...rip blue 2d
Stay away from the Duracell’s. They have damaged so many of my electronics from leakage. I have this light and use energizer lithium’s now.
I’ve had the same solitaire on my key chain for 8 or 9 years now and the black finish has rubbed pretty much completely off! Lol it’s silver these days. It’s served me well though
What do you do if the battery cap is stuck??
Try a little penetrating oil. Could be the battery leaked, and corrosion has locked it up tight.

EBLs actually self discharge pretty fast. well the AAs do.
