I'm from a Tech company which often use the term 'Blockchain'. All my life I just pretend to understand the meaning of this word, until I watch this video. Thank you for this clear explanation. Please do more video like this CNBC.
Thank you for the very clear explanation
Wait so how does sombody strengthen the chain? But transfering bitcoin?
Sir, I am Abhilasha wealth manager from lic. I want to know. My some money transfer in form of btc in Dec 2016 now some thing I am seeing different in hading of my blockchain wallet how I can manage this
Where would I get ibpc?. Is it essential part of blockchains?
Anybody know what song it is that starts around 2:40?
Great Exemplification. Useful info.
So simply explained and Love the background Music...
Dino R do you know whats the name of that music?
I am more interested in this music..there should be song made on this!!
This was informative. The thing that made it interesting was the music in the background - very well used. Could you name the song/ tune?
Nice tune
Thank you CNBC.
The best explanation of Blockchain on the internet.
This is why Litecoin has a strong future - low fees, fast processing times and small enough units to only have to use say 0.25 LTC to make smaller shopping purchases.
💯💯💯
this didn't age well lmao
The relationship of blockchain to monetary concerns is an adjunct aspect......there are other factors that must first be considered
what is true caller and how it makes money????
Thank you for this video and for the comments below. But can please someone explain me, how much blockchains exists? I ask this because in this video the blockchain is connected to bitcoin. So..., what happens with others cryptocurrencies like etherium or ripple and others...? Do they have their own blockchains? Also..., if this blockchain "thing" (that is almost te invention of the new wheel of XXI century), becomes universal and has so much data on it, how there is enough computational power? The demand will be exponencial. No? Thank you for your time.
Blockchains can be created for any number of uses, not just for currencies, though that is their most famous use so far. Anything can have its own blockchain, just like every business has its own database. Also, just like any other database, the data is not always being used, so computational requirements are not that high, its more about storage capacity than computational power. You would only try and access other stored copies of the data if you had reason to believe that the data you have got corrupted or was tampered with, or even destroyed. Think of it as more of a really advanced backup and security check for your data.
Awesome video.
song names? ??
Thank you from kenya
So what I understand from bit coin. 1 banks hate it?, government hate it and it is useless unless you trade them for money?
What's the song playing in the background called?
Great explanation, but this video rises more questions from me. If blockchain is so far the most secure technology, how come hackers are still able to steal bitcoins from people. Furthermore how did you put your digital paper on to the blockchain so it can help you to store it forever?
I've done all kinds of research and little by little Im starting to grasp the blockchain concept. But I agree, most people don't have a clue nor need to. All they need to know is that it can be used in many things but most popular one is it can serve as a payment platform and crypto currency has purchasing power like money. People dont know all the process involved in making paper money, just that they can buy or pay with it. Once blockchain becomes fully intergrated into the world economy people will only be concerned with using it.
Also a third part companies like exchange can steal your money or close your account for no reason like any bank and government. (Bittrex) comes in mind. I feel safer in a bank ..
No it can't with blockchain, wtf did you watch the video?
Why am I requires to allow a site to use my cookies when if I use something that’s blockchain, everyone has my action history and I have theirs?
Did he start off saying that criminals use this?
nice video 👍
lovely
Watched video good
4:40 I didn't get that, remain to be what ? A secret ?!
I don't understand how you spend it.
there is a strange concept on this technology that I can't understand why this technology is said to be efficient :(. if we are registered on a blockchain network, we will store a lot of transaction history from all network clients. of course we will need huge space to store it. doesn't it cost a lot?
the big misconception about blockchain is anonymity because become anonymous is choice not mandatory in blockchain

how can it help the poor when it can only be accessed from places with internet? real poor people wont even have internet access
In the future, more underdeveloped countries will have internet. plus they don't have to worry about not having any bank accounts because you can purchase bitcoins via atms
Welcome to 20-30 years of capitalism. What was once middle class is now poverty.
Mark Zuckerberg wants to change that with Internet.org. With solar power on the rise and companies selling old phones to 3rd world countries, they'll have access, let alone the drive and determination.
If they are poor will they have electricity?
Greg Sharma solar power. I’m Puerto Rican and i know for a fact that after the hurricane wiped out the grid down there that Tesla wanted to use PR as a test market to prove that his technology could power up the entire island ( similar size to Rhode Island Or Hawaii) , politics got in the way however, otherwise we would be a step closer to solar powered and this is what could work for 3rd world countries.
Digital currency will definitely help third world countries.
If they can get accounts on exchanges easily, but most dont pass all the checks, so need to buy peer to peer, localbitcoins or similar, at a much higher price.
fees are already to high for bitcoin
Luco Zade doesn't matter if they don't have even computers
@@FrancoisHarris that's why there's BABB ($BAX). All of the unbanked could easily be banked.
Remind me of IPFS.
can someone answer me this, if blockchain is this safe and keep your ownership to you no matter what happen, then why bitcoin warn us against hackers, hackers should not be able to steel my bitcoins
hackers cant steal your bitcoins but they can hack ur private key and in digital currency anyone having the private key is the owner
they cannot infiltrate the blockchain but they can get to your PK if you are careless or they can get into an Exchange which is why its recommended you keep your stuff on a wallet
All I know is that like those companies, I've invested in blokchain.
But what is blockchain
In the past, we have middle men to help manage our transactions. It's centralisation depending on the middle men like banks or government agencies. If the banks and the government want to steal money from us, they can easily do just that and we cannot know.
Blockchain has completely changed and cut the middle men. It's decentralisation - everyone can verify your transactions and they get reward in the form of bitcoin for example. The central agencies cannot steal money because if they want to steal money, they have to change the information of around 51% each members in the blockchain holds. It's impossible to do just that!
Anyone, who was using Blockchain, Trezor, Ledger wallets during November 2018.
And haven’t received BSV
Claim.
Today 1 BSV is valued around $200.00
Question: will an advanced AI be able to hack the blockchain?
only in terminator movies
Easily, AI is set to surpass human intelligence that created blockchain to begin with.lol.
It's not about AI it's about the new invention, AI needs to takeover the human beings then it can be possible otherwise not

You can use the difference in market prices to increase your example. Buy bitcoin on a lowpriced exchange
For more info +19197093004
Am sure she got nice and good quality lowprices exchange rate
Helpful, however several years later after this video has been made, I know that blockchain can be hacked or at least you can lose money when you engage in blockchain exchanges. Perhaps these will be remedied so that the simple security implied in this video is sufficient to operate as designed according to posted by CNBC International 7 years ago.

What if someone started to flood block chain with redundant and irrelevant info?
Ever heard of Russia's ASOM system (Auto-Saved On Microfilm) and ASOP system (Auto-Saved On Print)? Blockchain and Bitcoin works only in peace time and in times of normalcy, but when it's infrastructure and technostructure is threatened or gradually degraded or destroyed instantly by wars, civil unrests, or an all out thermo-nuclear exchange then the whole situation changes.
A library with no librarian......😎😎
Yieh!
The bg music is annoying
buying some bitcoin now ...and wait for the future !
How much have you made now?
So what is blockchain?
a decentralized ledger.
Last year was a good year everyday we see improvement in trading,, Glad I invested right!! I have made more than I expected
No strategy outclasses that of sir Lauberth. He has proven to be very trustworthy and reliable.
Blockchain is an exotic tech with far-reaching applications that can annihilate many others! It's already in the phase of games, where games like Bitcoin.com games made a great impact with casino games like keno, roulette & also with cwv.io 's next-gen blockchain 3.0 making it more faster & scalable, blockchain so far
it's a block with chains on it..

sounds sketchy.... ugh this twisted world we live in..bad guys and good buys win..But as long as they majority are good guys.. it's what matters
It’s just a matter of time before somebody figures out how to hack it.
But then as he said, the more increase in users, the more difficult it'll get to hack it.
