  • This is just another day of fixing issues here at Modular Head Shop. I have tried my best to put out good descriptions on all our of products and try to have my voice heard as much as possible when it comes to the same issues day after day. I hope this video gets my point across. I spend hours every week on the phone with tech support on stuff exactly like this. I hope this helps some of you! If you have any questions, give us a shout.
    Email: ModHeadShop@Gmail.com
Please email with any questions you may have. If there is something you would like me to cover in the Tech Tip Series, please let me know.
    Phone: 407-564-8069
Phone rings from 9a-6p, EST, Monday - Friday
If I'm not available, please leave your name and number with the front desk and I will do my best to call you back before the end of the day.
Emails are the best for me and I highly prefer emails over phone calls. It allows me to not be interrupted as much, and leaves a history so both of us can see what all has been said. Please be thorough with any questions.

Every time and I mean EVERY damn time this man speaks, it is with passion, and I DONT OWE ANYBODY ANYTHING A FUCKING THING honesty. Yes, I am saving up to get some work done by him, all I can afford is the freshen up service for the heads. I can barely make that, but I will be damned if I go to another shop. Keep up the good work man and keep telling it like it is.

I had heard before that you needed cams ground specific for TFS heads to work properly/get the most out of them, but nobody ever really said why, and this explains it.

100% Agree. Honesty is EVERYTHING! Thanks for showing that, what a shame. Going to be pulling the trigger on your stage 3 heads soon and calling for your recommendation for a rotating assembly for my application. I've been saving for a year to build my 2V Turbo, I have so many parts just sitting in bags and boxes in my shop and praying that they all work as advertised. Biggest investment will be the heads and rotating assembly so I'm very relieved to know that I'm in good hands.

This was perfect for me. I bought a set of 44cc TFS heads from a friend that had stage 2 CompCams. I was excited because they also had the TFS adjustable sprockets, but the more I look into it, I believe they are just PI cams.... looks like I am saving up for some new cams from you guys with your degree service!

Mhs has served me well over the years, my budget buster 4.6 has been a blast, running mhs cams, and mhs pi heads, building my next round using a modular boss 5.0 , because “ merica”
tf heads that Ron at fox lake ported and flow tested, before he retired, so glad mhs makes cams for the tf heads. The question is winch one?

  • @charliedee9276

Seems like common sense would indicate if the valve stem is in a completely different position from OEM then OEM style cams would not work. A lot of people probably thought this however on the TFS website they claim stock cams are compatible with the heads.

Jordan, that's where I'm at I bought these heads (I mentioned in previous comment) from a competitor. I called them first and they stated we just sell performance parts,so I called TFS and I asked about the valves that came with the heads which don't seat right and now even though TFS supposedly did all this CNC work, with the valves being 1.90" on the intake and 1.470" on the exhaust they flop on the closing instead of sealing against the edging. I was wondering what you recommend, I wanted to attempt to fix em' before I sent them to you anyways.. LoL 🤣

good video! i got a set of TF 44, with billit stage 3 blower cams in them. would the degree service change between having it done for a 2v 4.6 to installing them on a 2v 5.4? driver side is marked A4, and passanger side marked A8 when it was setup for the 4.6 currently doing the degree on it now, to verify its still on a 110 CL.

Question. I have an 02 GT 4.6l 2v stock PI heads. Planning on installing a set of stage 2 comp Cams XE268H 230/236. Will these fit as advertised? I will not be degreeing them. Using factory timing chain/gears. I assume as long as I don't mess with factory timing I should be okay. Thank you for the advise.

Truth be told I don't think TFS wanted anything to do with the modular 2v aftermarket, they've tried to bail out early like every other 2v companies but when they got a huge order for their heads and intakes for the 2v.. Thank God your in the 2v gang and making 2v awesome!! Thanks Jordan

I called TFS today to see what cams they had besides the 2 options they had n the guy told me that any 2v cams will work, why would he say that if it isn't true?? Just find it weird being that Comp Cams told me to get specific cams for their heads, weird..lol

Companies like Trick Flow are too big for that, nobody takes responsibility and they'll just pass you around to different people until you get someone's voicemail and then the conversation ends there. Stuff like this gets the attention of the bean counters and that's who they listen to.

I wonder who grinds TF's cams? It's like they made a huge bundle at one time, and when they run out, TF will probably let the 2v world know they found a problem in their old design and they have the fix for it. Kinda sounds like a marketing/Sales scam to me. Hmmm....🤔
