Tech Tips - Upgrade Spark Plug Threads using Timesert Threaded Aluminum Inserts - Ford Modular

  • In this video I go over upgrading spark plug holes in Ford Modular 4.6L / 5.4L 2V and 4V Cylinder Heads. The inserts I use are from Timesert and will be available for purchase on our website. This is the best way to improve the spark plug threads before they blow out and also a good way to properly repair them.

    This upgrade can also be added to any of our 2V or 4V Cylinder Head Package.

    Good video Jordan. Any reason you prefer the timesert over a lock stitch repair? That's good you have sourced an aluminium timesert, the steel time serts always worried me considering the dissimilar metals absorbing heat. Good video and presentation as usual. Keep going man!!!

    Ive got a few sets of 05 and 13 5.4 2v 9 thread heads. About to go to the junker and buy a lot more lol. I build 5.4 lightning engines for my car projects. Youre 100% right the 99/00 windsor heads are the absolute worst

    I messaged you guys about grinding some custom v10 cams. Kinda got stone walled from the reply. Said I was more then willing to pay for you R&D to find a grind that works for both of us. Maybe you will read this and peak your interest. If not keep on rocking the modular world

    I have 4 thread AG heads off a marauder. I been trying to convince myself I don’t need to do this but I know I should. If I didn’t live 1930 miles away from you I would send you the heads and tell ya to gimme the woiks

    Is this included in then 185r package on the tfs heads? When having heads send in for that package? I know my heads are ported buy I think stock tfs valves were uses

    96$?? That is a super reasonable price if we are being honest most of the other kits available have a crappy insert and they only supply 6 for 250$ + with an equally crappy tap and drill bit

      It's a very good price. From what i have seen, everything Jordan offers is reasonably priced.

      Barry Towle he sells them. At 20:34he says the cost and that he stocks them and i think free shipping. Keep in mind this is ONLY the insert. Still cheaper than other places for a great quality one

    Hey Justin I emailed you a few weeks ago now, and I didn’t get a response from you, I need to get them trick flow spring kit to up my spring load for cams, I have a 90 now and want to go min 120+ I would love to send my heads to you to do a go over bit fuck me im from Canada and that would cost a shit tonne in shipping
