    There is only one way thru that clay and it's around, most of the time you can't even walk on top of that let alone ride or drive thru. They state should take better care of the roads like that. Looks like a blast! Heading out in few weeks myself on the 390 adventure.

      The other way around that clay would have been to backtrack for 10 min to the primary route, since he was attempting the more difficult (optional) alternate. He was not trapped. Riding off-trail is bad form.

    how many miles do you have on that ktm? Just discovered your channel today and have already almost convinced me to get an adv touring bike. Just need more dough haha, my friends and I are on crf250ls awesome little bikes but they don"t like the highway for sure. Would like to far away places instead of toting the trailer around for most trips. we are in New Hampshire ever been this way yet?

      @MotoMission.  Год назад

      Hey. I have not ridden in New Hampshire. Not yet any way. Ha.
      My ktm has 20k miles. Not a problem yet. Has been fantastic. It’s perfect for the all around type riding. Has been good to me in offroad conditions. Even done some single track and challenging things. But on hwy it is smooth and easy.
      I still love my little bikes for the dual sport rides. But adventire riding has been mostly on the 890 w no regrets.
      Lemme know if you get one. Would love to hear your experience.

    I like your video and vibe, but (A) much of what you are riding is not the SCAR, and (B) you violated TreadLightly principles multiple times by departing the roads and bushwhacking through the woods in the wildlife management area, simply to avoid some mud. In addition to damaging the environment, this is how our route and sport gets a bad name and we continue to lose access. But whatever it takes to grow your channel... Seriously.

    • @FireandIceOutdoorGear

      I just read this and looked at your page and have watched a couple of your videos. You do a great job at documenting your rides. I ave a question how long did it take you to
      do you TAT?
      What map did you use?

      Really not liking your vibe. You were doing fine till the "whatever it takes to grow your channel" comment. Don't be such a self righteous twat.. Seriously.

    • @MotoMission.
      @MotoMission.  Год назад +1

      @mototherapy hey. Thanks for your comment. I may have bad info but I grabbed maps and it appears that the scar is the route I have taken. It overlaps with the kevin’s scbat route for the most part. I chose to use his paper maps to keep an idea of where I am going.
      Much respect for the guys who created the scar. That’s why I am giving them credit.
      There may be a place here and there where I am off the original route and that is ok with me.
      Is there something I’m missing here about the scar ? It surely appears that I am riding the scar route for the most part. Email me if you would like to discuss it.

    • @MotoMission.
      @MotoMission.  Год назад +1

      Hey I rode the tat last year. Took me about 30 days. I used both kevin and Sam’s maps. The first part I used kevin until it overlapped Sam. Then in nevada I stuck to Sam to finish. I learned that much of the maps overlapped.
      The tat was the best experience. Loved it. I may do it again someday.

      @@MotoMission. The bridge-out you encountered and some other scenery lets me know you were on a very old version of the SCAR--the same version that GPSKevin copied and re-branded (as indicated by the logo on your paper maps). You likely hit a gate in Francis Marion National Forest, too. With that, the Forest Service let the lease for the road expire, and the land reverted to the surrounding landowner, and he gated it. The SCAR has seen significant updates to avoid closures like these, to add more dirt, etc. Also, in the SCAR community, we are very serious about TreadLightly principles, and as someone who also rides dual sports, I can say with certainty that the SC DNR prosecutes transgressions without hesitation. We DO NOT want the SCAR associated with such transgressions. Respect = action, not just credit ;-)
