I did a bonnet at the weekend and it’s got so much orange peel. I just used G360 which has improved it and was going to wet sand with just 1500 but having seen this I’m going to try your method. Thanks.
its a good system, but instead of compounding after, i would go one step above to 3000k grit, or even more, it really cuts a lot of your buffing time, after sanding polishing will be child's play.
This is what I want to know.. if you’ve never done it, what exactly is it you’re looking to remove? I’ve noticed from the videos it tends to go an overall flat greyish colour? So when that looks flat I’m assuming it’s done.. The last thing I’d want is to do it all, then polish with a wool pad and there’s still defect everywhere
Svaka čast i hvala na podjeljenom znanju. Koja je potrošnja papira npr kad bi se radila kompletna hauba, odstranjivanje orange peel-a? Koje su recimo tri paste u tri cjenovna razreda koje bi preporučio?
Great video amd detailing… quick question sir … where can I get that adapter you’re using on your DEWALT polisher/sander (connecting pad with machine adapter) ? I’d like something like that so I can use on my machines that currently use a 5/16 screw in attachment . Can you help with a recommendation for an adapter I would be able to use to interchange so I can use a variety of pads with all my machines … tyvm
Pozdrav Alen, koliko ti tog prozirnog laka skineš. Nevidim da lak mjeriš ipak sa 1500 papirom brzo možeš proči. Ja želim isto prič na šlifanje zato pitam. Ali mislio sam sa 3000 da to radim jer me sa 1500 strah . Lp.
Upravo sam pogledo to me je interesovalo.
I always have scratches after sanding..i never tried those sand paper... i repaintes 7 times...even with a small orange peel..after i sand it...i have scratches and the compound polish can't remove them. Do you also have scratches? Because i can't see it on the video.
everything depends on how the coating dries, it can be sanded immediately after painting, but in my opinion it is best to sand after 35 days, when all the material has done its job
Thank you for your videos. One question: which interface pad do you use for sanding orange peel with Assilex? Do you always use the soft one (is it Kovax 971-0091?) or also the hard one in some cases?
Could you give some advice about the speed of the machine for sanding? I use à pneumatic sanding machine, wet sanding with trizact 1500, 2000, 3000 Thank you
So why don't you have a vacuum cleaner h(hose) attached to the sander so it removes the dust? And lining op de holes in the discs without a vacuum cleaner attached to the sander is comical 🤣😂😅
Orange peel has nothing to do with too little clear coat. It's from application (not enough pressure, improper overlap, distance, temperature, etc.) Thin wet coats are fine
@@mark7218 i use koch chemie heavy quick compound, it says it removes up to 1200 grit sanding marks. After i refine the 1000 grit sand marks up to 2000-3000grit the compound should still remove all the sanding marks correct?
Does it matter orbital or random orbital sander? Also the sanding paper and sander flap is hard is that ok
Do you have to put a layer of clear coat now

Saludos.
Exactly what I needed!
How do you know when to stop with 2000? Look for sanding scratches from 1500, or just have a standard number of passes?

How do I clean some dust from auto paint before I lay down clear? Most vids show it after clear is down, but I havent sprayed clear yet.
Don't you still need to use a medium and final cut polish?
Yes ,you need

In order to achieve this level of finish, do you have to sand with the Mirka sander? Is it possible to sand by hand and get the same result?
Yes, it could be, block sanding and water with help of a light because you can see when its gone

the effect is the same for both soft and hard
