Tnx bro,50 to 60 microns are applied in the factory varnish just below goes baua 20 microns filler etc. and all together 140 to 200 microns depending on the car manufacturer
I purchased a used one as the piece is a bit pricey, but the machine ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG6fbm3cHBd7CNTjk5D-dwYe9c9tCB9ZN has surpassed my expectations. We sand small parts by hand often, sized around 1"x1/2," and specifically look for a piece that's designed to be vertical. The motor has plenty of torque and great speed settings. The only inconvenience I had is that the disk measures 5" where we trim 6" stick-and-sand disks down easily by mounting it then cutting with a box cutter.
great demo there fella, quick question for you if you dont mind me asking? how long do the kovax discs last, how many panels can you get out of each disc? i know there any many variables to take into account too.
When I did the calculations, the start was 236 average, after 1500 grit 231 avg (-2%), 2000 grit 229.5 avg (-1%), and somehow 3000 grit 218 avg (-5%?). So from 236 to 218 for an 8% decrease. I thought it would be more like 25% decrease.
So, I’m just assuming, at the 1:00 mark of the video, when you’re using your material thickness gauge, when the readings are all over the place, especially where it reads in the 700’s, there is some sort of body filler in that spot due to the thickness being greater than the spots where it is in the 2-300’s. Or is the paint and clear coat just thinner in those spots where the readings are in the200’s??? Also, what should the reading be on a factory finished paint job that has never been touched after leaving the manufacturing plant??? Thanks in advance. Great information in the video!!!
Don't know why, but for me Kovax always leave some sanding marks (very small and fine but still). Even if I only use 2000 buflex with zero pressure hand sanding using a soft sponage to hold the paper. It's not happening with wet sanding.
@@Amddetailing yes I watched this video but this video compared dry vs wet sanding BY HAND not using machine. In all your video you use machine. So question which is better wet vs dry using MACHINE because it's not same as hand. And many other channels say to use wet sanding so I want to know why you dry sand because of heat generation. Thank you
Perfect video with clear explanation! Once again shows your high level of paint correction.
Tnx friend
As always perfect job - truly paint correnction. I wish to use sanding paper but I'm a little bit scared : D
Tnx my friend no need to fear just relax and take it easy
Amazing results!
Perfect job like every time, it's pleasure to watch. I want to know what must be a normal thickness of clear coat?

Great video, thank you for taking the time to make it and add it to you channel
Like and subscribed!
Tnx my friend and enjoy
Excellent video bro 🤩
Great video, how important is to remove the handles, and can paint correction be done with out removing the handles??
Very informative video, perfect!💙
Tnx my friend 😉
Nice work brother
How to fix scratches and stone chips on silver metalic paint base coat clear coat?... And.. if clear coat is accidently removed.. can it be fixed?
very difficult because the silver color goes to a darker shade
What's recommended for dry sanding, da or rotary? Or any works?
DA of course
Hey Alen, any info on the gauge you using?! maybe a link to purchase it?! Thank you in advance. Great job as usual👌🏻
i don't have a link from this but you have a lot of similar ones on ebay
great demo there fella, quick question for you if you dont mind me asking? how long do the kovax discs last, how many panels can you get out of each disc? i know there any many variables to take into account too.
it all depends on the hardness of the clear lacquer but about 1 paper one panel
@@Amddetailing cheers fella. have you used the rupes xcut discs at all and if so how do they compare to the kovax ones?
@@ashleystratton352 I use a disc also from kovax (the softest) they offer 3 (hard medium and this yellow softest)
Ekstra majstore👌
Jel koristis kakvu medupodlosku ili ne
Da koristim od kovax najmeksu imaju 3 po tvrdoci
how important is the choice in sander? do I really need a $700 Mika? thanks for your great videos

It's because the car has been repainted and the paint si very thick. From factory it is about 100 microns, some cars only 70 (looking at you Mazda!).
Hi :) I have a question. What size is your garage(studio) ?
Are those type of sander direct drive or have a clutch system like the electric palm Sanders? Thank you
are you using a interface pad on all different grit papers
I don't always use a soft pad for this type of correction, the other thing is when preparing the car for painting
What is the unit of measure?
Micron

Hello, if using the DA polisher to do the sanding, usually at what speed should i use ?
you can't sand a polisher with a machine, that's not it
@@Amddetailing But i remember seeing someone using the DA polisher with the sandpaper.. maybe on car detailing craft channel and apex detail..
I dont have a air polisher. Can i use my Rupes Electric polisher instead?
Try
What is the name of the sander that u used and where to get one is it electric thanks
Kovax paper and Mirka Deros maschine

Isnt bad its down from 239 to 200 ?
How many microns is it safe to bring down so that the clear coat is not damaged? That is, if it is below 200, will it be damaged? Pls answer
no, only below 80 will damage occur
Where can I buy the kovax sandpaper? I'm in Canada
contact the Kovax official site
How do you avoid pigtails or curly ques?

Why no hose to vacuum dust ?
pick it up, nothing must remain on the surface, it cannot vacuum everything, it is important that the dust does not fly around the rest of the car
That's ok but the top coat is clear and only microns thick, very easy to break through to the base coat.a lot of people don't understand that.

you are doing something wrong
@@Amddetailing Maybe it's because I use 75mm polisher with just 8mm orbit?
That huge orbit is definitely contributing. I use this same system daily and have not had any pig tails since using 3M Trizact.
Why dry sand instead of wet sanding to remove orange peel
you have a video on the channel why dry sanding is better and of better quality
