"For the first pass is ok", i think for 90% that would be finished, you barely have a bit of holograms there. Amazing work. I cant wait to do my car in about a month.
Watching your videos gave me the confidence to do some moderate paint correcting on one of my cars. While not your level, Im happy with the results. Watching how to do it right goes a long way.
As a qualified Automotive Refinishing tech I do not recommend this for most people unless you have extra ckearcoat applied during a respray as it thins down the clear on a factory paint finish and in a year or 2 it will start breaking down if you have sanded it flat, iv seen people do this and then it costs alot to fix as you basically have to sand, prime and paint the whole car just to fix it because someone thought it would be a good idea to sand flat a factory paint job 😂
Yep and people do this on a daily driver which is beyond stupid. That paint will be chipped, scratches or dented within 6 months. I’d only do this if I was applying a ppf afterwards and it wasn’t a daily driver and I knew the clear was thick to begin with. I’d prefer to compound and polish orange peel away instead of sanding.
@@emilioavila844 it can be but it shouldn’t. You are screwing the next person that owns the car especially if it’s a daily driver. It’s just going to get damaged and it will show even more marring, swirls, and scratches with flat clear coat
@@ohboy2592 that is incorrect, a good ceramic coat last years, probably more than a average price paint job, and i dont care if the next owner dont take care of his stuff
Are you happy with mirka sander? I plan to also buy some good sander to my arsenal and Mirka looks good. New makita 40v sanders also come to market and thought, maybe good idea. What do you suggest?
Wish you were in Hawaii. Got my sons car painted and its got a bunch orange peel that the painter won't correct. Oh well, you get what you pay for. Love watching your videos. You got skills.
I am glad that you follow me in Hawaii, unfortunately I am far from you and I hope that someone will be able to solve your problem with the orange peel
hi im in this sector around 10 year. Before i used ert sand and wer sand by hand sonetimes with airmachine.New i buy mirka and kowax assilex series.I tried witg few cars but i think kowax sands durability is so low .I just make for one place its around 50-60 cm and after i clean but when i want to sand again its doest work like first time .I use first 1200 after 2000 and after 3000 but it was hard to clean sand circles hazes.why this happen i dont know .Not so pressure 4000 rpm new assiles sands . these are my 2 question.Hope you will see my question

nice video. i use a wool pad on a rotary buffer, it goes quickly and makes the foam pad work much quicker hence less clear coat removed. Then switch over to the rupes for final polishing.
Hello, mate! I've been watching many of your videos and saw that you're doing a good job. I need to do the same on my freshly repainted E34, that looks pretty much like this paint job. I have a very similar orbital sander, ordered the kovax sandpaper 1500, 2000, 2500 grit and soft interface pads. Sanded the whole car flat, but I can't get the sanding marks out. I leveled out as much as I could, I even passed the 2500 grit, but I still have little sandpaper marks after compound and polish. Unfortunately, EWOCAR products are not available in Italy so I'm using Rupes coarse blue wool pad and Scholl concepts S2 black and S3 gold XXL compound on a forced rotation FLEX polisher. Is EWOCAR heavy cut+ crucial for this job? I mean, if that's the only way, I'll try my best and find a way to buy the compound, but I'd like to be sure that this is going to help me solve the problem. What about the wool pad, is the Rupes strong enough combined with the heavy cut+? Please bring some light into my issue. Thank you! Keep up the good work, mate!
It‘s clearly to see that this car had a rep. paint job. And in this case and also by the thickness of the paint, it‘s possible to flatened out and correct the paint by sanding. I‘ve done this many times for my own and customer cars, and never had any issues at all. In countrys with heavy UV and many sunhours and after a few years almost every clearcoat colaps, if not mentained properly!
Thank you so much for the video. i painted my t4 bus yesterday and it has the same problem on a quarter panel. How many hours should i wait before sanding it?
as a rule, at least 30 days should pass because each material has its own evaporation reaction and the material must do its job in order to have a perfect result that will last for a long time
Have you ever tried orange peel removal with a Denim pad using a DA polisher and with special compound for the Denim pad?? Its pretty interesting, I never tried it myself that would be interesting to see you try it maybe? Awesome content keep up the good work!
I arrived here by coincidence. The strange thing is that my car, a Mercedes W126, is the same blue color. The problem is circles and scratches caused by the sinks. I want your advice and what do I need? You are creative, I wish you success🥇
hi man i follow you aroundd 2 year .What you think about rupes electric sanding machine ? ita little. it cheaper then mirka machine but can i have get same wuality as mirka?
Very nice job. In the US, new cars are coming in as low as 3 mils, I would be afraid to sand on those cars? I'v read where VW's are being made in Mexico very cheaply? But German cars have a very hard clear coat? What are your thoughts?
Just an FYI for the person here slamming painters in your description of poorly painted being orange peel I have seen some very nice cars from the FACTORY with excessive orange peel and orange peel that rough I will usually start with 1,200 maybe that helps you out
@@Amddetailing I used the same paper, but a Grinder with 9mm instead 5mm stroke and keept everthing clean, but now I have some pigtails in the clearcoat, is the higher stroke the reason?
I have already explained in some videos why dry is better. It is better because you can see what happens to the sanded part while sanding and there is little chance of doing damage, it is not greasy, it does not leave those white marks from the coating and it dries much faster than water sanding
Man, I'm amazed by the quality of your work in every single video you post. You got some skills. Thanks for sharing that. You're appreciated🤘👏
Tnx
Fantastic job! I'm a big fan of dry sanding too. It's so much easier to see where you have sanded out all of the orange peel, and where you haven't.
Yes yes

This can be done to every car with a minimun of clear coat, obviusly not faded or cloudy, but a ceramic coating its a MUST after this kind of job

Thanks What Mirka machine are you using?

Wow! I have the same spec 7.5R and the orange peel is my safety net for future corrections… but I might need this level of gloss in my life
ceramic coating? i need a good one
will this work to remove tree sap damage ?
Does vacum helps to avoid sanding pigtails?
WELL DONE VIDEO THANK YOU !!!!! Rupes RPM polishing number/ setting did you use ????
How do you do the top and the bottom of the door?
You sand normally like you would the lower part of the door, just be more careful because you have sharp edges on the door.
Amazing job...I'm impressed 👏🏻
Tnx bro
would you recommend dry sanding for flow coating ?
I did a mistake, I didn t use the same color of painting, what can I do to fix it, thank you for the answer. 😢 ?
Very inspiring, that someday I could be half as good as you.
no need wet sanding? I just wondering.

1 or 2

I still get the heebee jeebees when I see this sanding technique but damn results are amazing.
Do u send it after the clear coat or before it?
I recently painted my truck poorly and now I am here.
you arent very careful around the edges, they dont have alot of paint on them and it is easy to burn through
I am careful, and I should always be careful, but with these papers, it is very unlikely that the paint will peel off

Tnx bro

Like an egg😊
not worth it loosing alot of clearcoat
