Although yesterdays snapshot is now irrelevant, you may still want to check out my coverage on it. 🙂ruclips.net/video/j-38EU9a4hA/видео.html
I’m not liking this snapshot. I need my inventory back.
@Prism Projects amazing*
You posted it after 12 o’clock… lol but maybe you don’t know what I’m talking about…
I always wanted to play as enderman
@@Jeremiah_Rivers76 I disagree it's made Minecraft perfect
I know it's a joke snapshot but for me this is one of those moments where some of the joke additions would actually be really nice to have normally. Like if you could actually carry small mobs and tile entity blocks for example
the carry on mod does exactly that!
@@kyonas6047 they literally didn't say that but okay.
@@femtondemasker325 they did they said "normally"
@@Skadoodly_Dave look, i was just saying that there happens to also be a mod that does both of the things they said were cool, y'know, so they could try it out.
Usually every April fools update at least 1 thing is brought over to actual vanilla.
A few interesting things that weren't mentioned: footprints, and explosions changing the form of stone blocks into cobblestone slabs/stairs/walls/etc.
And that you actually can craft items by throwing them on top of crafting tables
And pigs allow you to walk on ceilings
All of which are references to old school mods
@@Alphalaneous I can't be the only one to immediately think of Spider Pig/Harry Plopper in The Simpsons Movie when reading that.
I was able to throw an end portal frame and it landed on its side
Few things I found while playing in survival:
-Hold a chicken to float instead of fall and tap space to fly!
-Stand on a crafting table then throw a block of wood upwards so it lands on the crafting table and it'll turn into planks. Repeat to get a button!
-Throw a block up in the air so it lands onto your head (causing damage) and the next time you take fall damage, that type of block will spawn
-Throw fire onto stone to get smooth stone
-Throw four wood planks up in the air so they land in a 4x4 and they turn into crafting tables
I'm wondering how much of this is intentional. Feel free to let me know what else you find!
Wood spawns coal after burning
if you pick up the skeleton, they’ll shoot where you put the crosshair is
Throwing sand into the lava will turn it to glass
Oh snap, i totally couldnt figure out the crafting thing :-D
The end portal does not spawn naturally in strongholds. Instead, you must find endermen who can spawn with the frames take them to make the portal. (They come with eyes already)
There were a few more things you didnt mention:
New advancement "Ride the End" when you try to pick up the dragon.
Strongholds dont generate unfilled end portal frames, they only generate a few filled end portal frames(not all 12 of them).
In creative you can pick up and throw blocks like end portal, end gateway and nether portal.
If a smeltable block catches on fire or is set on fire, after 5-10 seconds the smelted item/block in placed in that block's place (like if wood logs burn charcoal is placed in place of them, if netherrack burns nether brick is placed, if cobblestone burns it converts to stone, and if stone burns it converts to smooth stone) so you can essentially pick up a fire block and place it above a smeltable block to smelt it.
If you throw sheep it also shears them simultaneously and placed the wool block.
There are footsteps added now?
There’s a secret block called generic_block_item you can get using commands.
Skeletons sometimes rarely spawn with spyglasses in their eyes.
You can craft by throwing items onto a crafting table.
You can get items/blocks on your head by throwing them straight up on you.
You can grab ghast fireballs and throw them as you like.
Throwing a lava/water bucket will spill its contents on the ground.
These are few things i found while playing it myself....
how do you make a crafting table tho
@@CharaViolet from a village
it's been a while since mojang actually did something good for the game, so happy to see them addressing the important problems like inventory management!
I hope this is sarcasm
@@lordbunka Check the date, the truth will surprise you
Can't have inventory management problem if you have no inventory... "genius guy picture" 😂
@@lordbunka it's not
@@lordbunka its not, mojang has finally fixed inventory management
The fact they added the moving block entities for explosions, creepers degrading the stone into cobble, and picking up mobs these are suck big changes that would be amazing to have!
Some things from these april fools snapshots have been added. Stained glass and coal blocks for example. Never say never :P
@@Sebaz. also custom dimensions
@@FroststormFrenzy that wasn’t added
@@johnparkes2452 that was added in 20w14~, and later was added to vanilla
@@johnparkes2452 It was, I use it quite often for custom maps. It's very useful! You can add them via datapacks when making a new world.
There’s a secret block called “generic_block_item” (probably a template block for the placeable items) you can get using commands, and it’s name is “How did we get here?”
Letting the days go by~
Love the april fools updates and always love how you cover them X!
@@Instabruh.User.. why do you keep coming back
Tbh this years feels lacking
@@tietah1262 he didnt cover a lot of it. you can craft by placing the recipe and throwing the crafting table, you get a different flight with a chicken, the whole game is beatable with portal fames being found in nether forts you can catch and redirect guast fire balls spiders let you climb walls pigs let you climb ceilings and much more
ok I kind of want them to add the "blocks go flying during explosions" thing as an actual feature. Optional, of course, so that it doesn't completely kill slower computers
How would that option work in multiplayer?
@@Tech_Marauder Maybe they can implement it as a gamerule command
@@qzimyion Blocks just appear where they would land instead of visually flying there i guess.
Looks like there's a lot of 'new' tech here. Considering they actually did implement features from the 'Infinity snapshot' into the game (custom dimensions), they could implement some of these features aswell.
Maybe the footprints but only on dirt, mud like items? .
The blocks being yeeted is pretty easy to implement, same code with falling anvils and the like, just implemented under different conditions
@@Commenter_OF_youtube the footprint particle has actually been in the game for a very long time now I think
They never fail to make an amazing April fools update
Except last year, when they gave us a bunch of ugly screen-savers
this one is so incredibly stupid it flips all the way around and is absolutely amazing. Well played, Mojang, well played
@@timewarpdrive77 But he did say "update" so... technicaaalllyyy, the screen-savers don't count.
@@DJSlimeball They failed to make the update completely...
The Shareware 3D 1.14 was literally a masterpiece with it's referances. Nothing beats that.
A lot of these things would most definitely be cool in the actual game, such as item placing (tools, food, etc) without invisible item frames
Right? I can see them adding it if you hold shift or ctrl or something while right clicking.
I honestly want a hard mode mod where you have a very limited inventory like this - like you can't have a small mountain of dirt and stone, you need to do something with it.
@@WasatchWind what about you can only have your hotbar and no stacks, that'd be funny
This could actually be a good feature for moving chests with items in without breaking them
there's a mod that does exactly that, and yes it's very nice.
@@swedneck Do you think maybe this could be a tease for future updates?
@@totalnerd5674 A couple of features introduced in the April's Fools Updates in the past eventually made into the game, such as colored glasses. So yes there is a chance
Fuck shulker boxes amirite
@@tobysheridan5252 Endgame doesn't count, also
"1.19 sUcKs"
0:19 that is indeed a good start up screen, it just looks like something I cant quite put my finger on, am- amon- among- nah I cant remember
DONTSAYITDONTSAYITDONTSAYITGETOUTOFMYHEAD
looks like an im... imp... impulsesv? nah, that wasn't it
April Fools update law:
- some of these features are very likely to be introduced in the future updates.
I like the full 2 handed gameplay, perhaps make it so you can punch with 2 hands
@@LazyLoonz I'd like the mechanic to pick up certain things, like some lighter blocks, pets, or chests.
You can't do anything until you place them down, and you walk slower. Also, your hunger will deplete much faster. All of that to balance out the ability to move your filled chests in order to save the shulker boxes from becoming obsolete.
Two things that I actually want in the game. And that is being able to pick up mobs to transport them and to place items like tools and food etc as decorations
Love the artistic flair within the thumbnail, really encapsulates what your channel is really like. I hope you continue this style onto your hermitcraft!
They’ve actually made transporting villagers easier wow
Some of this stuff would be really cool in the actual game, like placing tools
I really wish the item physics and mechanics from this snapshot were in the actual game. It's simple things, but adds so much to the feel of the game
It’d be interesting if the placeable tools eventually makes it into the real game it would be super useful to detail with
But wouldnt it basicly remove the need for item frames? There are invisible item frames even tho they are hidden behind commands
Tho if it was just tools and you could place them like a sword in an anvil or a pickaxe hanging from a wall that would be cool
in all seriousness, a lot of these would be nice, riding the dragon by hatching the egg, carrying a mob, etc
Riding the Dragon wouldn't be that good, it'd be cool at first but then it becomes cumbersome and pointless that's what Skyrim and the Ice and Fire mod taught me.
@@M0D776make it a smaller dragon. Otherwise, what's the point of killing the dragon at all besides getting the egg and xp? The portals? I can bridge out to the end islands with wood
@@ziadconnolly057 the point is easy access to the End Islands, which eventually lead you to End Cities, where you can get things like Shulker Shells for making Shulker Boxes and Elytras, which means that those items are indirectly the prize for beating the Dragon.
Plus, adding something like a Ridable Dragon would be pretty redundant with the existence of Elytras.
@@M0D776 i am well aware of what you can get from the end islands. I spend a lot of my time end busting because it's fun. But again, if you can get there just as easily by building a bridge, it would be worth it more than just having an ugly egg you only get ONE OF, that's nothing more than a display piece after a repeatable boss fight, i feel like i just wasted time going through the steps. And it would still be balanced because the elytra is like 3x faster than any of the flying mobs. Not to mention you'd have to build an enclosure for your dragon, probably encouraging people to learn redstone doors or something
It's funny jokes but sad at the same time because these are the features that have been asked by the community to be added to the base game. The dragon riding, the carrying, the throwing, and the animation when dropping the items, are all cool to have in the base game.
they've added features from April fools snapshots before so there's a small chance it could happen.
@@polocatfan The infinite dimensions snapshot literally had one of the premade ones with a sign saying "I owe you one custom world", and custom worlds returned that same year.
This should actually be in the game. Being able to pick up light objects in early game like chickens & other light mobs and blocks, and then having some kind of power glove to pick up anything in late game and be able to move chests & stuff
Only thing I'd keep is the footsteps particles lol
Yeah there's a mod that lets you pick up blocks and it's really quite nice.
@@swedneck carry on is nice and all, but it doesnt have the mob interactions though, like holding a chicken would let you slow fall
I’d like to be able to pick up tile entities like chests and furnaces, but the rest would be pretty op and make luring mobs with their favorite food obsolete
I think these updates are a lot of the times a test so I wouldn't be surprised if we get this in some form
Honestly, that logo looks slick, and this would be a really interesting challenge run!
This is literally just minecraft but you're an enderman.
Fun things:
Holding a pig makes it upside down. It has a Spider-Pig reference. If you are holding a pig, and there's a block above you, you'll fly up!
Holding a Chicken will let you float. A funny Zelda Reference.
Tools still technically work as intended. They will break respective blocks faster, but will always break instantly.
Tools breaking instantly is universal now. With the exception of Skeletons, Piglin Crossbows will break as soon as they use them once. Not sure about other mobs.
Throwing a filled Bucket will spill its contents once it hits the ground. (Buckets can't be used normally, except when filled. Unless it's a Milk Bucket.)
Thrown Items and Mobs can damage other Mobs.
Items not placed properly are treated like "Falling Blocks". Watch out for off-center Items/Blocks. They will probably hurt you.
The reason the Offhand Slot is accessible is due to the fact that it is not treated like a regular Inventory Slot. While it does work as one, Minecraft treats it slightly differently, similarly to how the "Main Hand" technically has its own slot, though it's simply the selected item.
Certain Items can be used, and others can't. Food/Drink Items usually can't be used. Bows can't be used. Crossbows (maybe) can be used. Items that are seen as Tools can be used, but break instantly no matter what.
Run, the Turtles are coming.
Wdym by the turtles are coming
Something I forgot to mention: A reference to the older days of Minecraft, when Sheep take damage, they lose their wool (3).
Certain things can be smelted with Lava.
(Throw Sand at Lava to get Glass.)
The darkness grows...
SKELETONS HAVE SPYGLASS GOGGLES-
New Discovery: Mashing Jump while holding a chicken lets you fly higher.
Also, you can craft anything by throwing a crafting table in the middle of items. The floor is a crafting grid.
This April fool's snapshot is so much fun! Such an interesting concept.
i want them to legitimately keep the changes to explosions, i loved back when blocks used to get thrown around alot more
I'm still sad they never did implement the dimensions from that one april fools update. That was legitimately amazing
Except they did. It's just tons of custom work in a datapack to get them working.
Datapacks go BRRRRRRRRR
@@Sledg0matic Sure, but they could have just... left it in the game as a setting instead? Why put it on the players to implement features the devs themselves made? Sure it was a joke update, but it was also really cool.
@@Cyberdragunz All that snapshot was was a really early version of the custom dimensions but just with the settings randomised based on the seed that was given. There's also nothing stopping you from going back and playing around in the snapshot again, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a mod somewhere that has similar functionality.
@@itskdog Again, that's putting it on the players to redo what the devs already did and removed. They could just as easily leave a toggle in-game on world creation to just enable this stuff whenever. Instead they take it away and leave it up to the players to have to do the work themselves if they want it back.
I miss when the april fools minecraft stuff was just dumb and funny instead of actual cool stuff that could just as easily be left as game options.
In all seriousness, I thought the fact that you can place items as blocks in this joke snapshot pretty cool
I think this would actually compete with the infinity snapshot for one of the best april fools jokes they made in my opinion, and some of the things they did here actually looks like pretty good features I would like to see in the actual game. Some of those mechanics would really be helpful!
you can actually hold 3 blocks at a time, one on the head by throwing it straight up and one in each hand. To get the head item back take damage
Minecraft april fools is always one of my favourite parts of the year, not least because Xisuma's coverage always makes me giggle. Thanks X!
I really like the footprints and stone obstruction. That's something they should keep
1. I wonder if you can beat the game in this version (I know that worlds that spawn with "activated on world gen end portals" are a thing)
2. I wonder what happens when you hold two different blocks (I assume the textures will just clip through each other)
You dont need those rare seeds to "beat" the game, end portal frames generate in the nether, which, when placed in the overworld points to the stronghold.
The stronghold doesn't have eyes with missing frames, but rather missing frames, which you need to place in using the frames you got from the stronghold.
The goal of the game (evident by the exit portal and gateway portal spawning and giving a "spin-off"-ish advancement of Free the End) is to destroy all the ender crystals, and then ride the dragon. You can then ride the dragon into the end void, to spawn at the top of the overworld.
Remember that stuff from april fools updates sometimes makes it into the base game. I would love for block explosions to be in vanilla.
Brilliant!! Thank you X
Oh also you can find skeletons with spyglasses in them in this as well
april 1st is the best snapshot day of the year
change my mind
The placable items could be an alternative, or addition, to armor stands and item frames.
Also may be a good way to find 'ancient' tools and bits in archeology.
Try giving yourself tnt and then lighting it by giving yourself a redstone block. For whatever reason, explosions in this version not only make blocks fly everywhere but also generates cobble slabs, stairs, walls, etc! It actually looks quite nice!
6:07 POV: Youre alinity
Can't wait for the speedruns~
if a barrel is thrown on your head, it covers your body, and only your legs show up, and if you press shift you disguise yourself as a barrel, also your vision gets a "inside barrel" overlay
I was wondering what exactly this was, thank you for the showcase!
It looks like you're hugging the food for comfort in this absolutely perfect version of Minecraft
I like how the Endermen provide blocks that you otherwise couldn't obtain in this snapshot. The devs' April Fools' Day snapshots always seem well-built enough to prompt some long-term gameplay in them.
Pixlriffs is doing an actual LP in this version.
I really liked that you can hold on bees and they'll carry you flying
I do like the throwing mechanic. With some sort of power bar to determine how far you throw an item it could be a fun additition to the actual game. Throwing items into a hopper at the other side of the room.
jokes aside i think they should use the item place feature in the game, saves lag from item frames and more detail!
‘The contents of the chest have landed in the area around me’ was X English teacher arc
Such a great and informative video thanks X! 😜
Picking up bees and flying actually seems like a really fun feature!
Try a chicken and jump with it
The most exciting thing here is that you can place items almost as if they're in invisible item frames
I know it is just an aprilfools joke, but placing items on the ground and picking up entities over your head are features i would love to see being implemented in the real game.
I imagine this'll go down alongside the infinite dimensions snapshot as one that is legit cool to play with
I really like the explosion effects on blocks. This was a cool snapshot
I jist really hope that some of these features actually get to be part of the game, being able to pick up villagers on top of your head would be actually very cool. And I'm not sure if the footsteps are from your texture pack or from the update, but if it's from the game that would also be cool
The footsteps are in the snapshot
The features of the last joke snapshot sorta made it into the game via custom dimensions.... as did the 2018 joke. Actually a lot of the jokes have become reality, from stained glass and horses to minecoins, theres a long track record of this happening. I dunno if this 100% accurate, but I think these joke snapshots can be used as predictors for future features...
However, Im assuming this is hinting at an inventory update in the future...
You can pretty much make the footsteps with redstone and a command block.
no, picking up mobs will legit make every other transportation method useless
Interesting coding temptation for carrying Mobs. Maybe even for 1.20 even like if Mojang coded that well we might actually get it.
Yeah it’s April Fools… but STILL that’s just an amazing coding introduced.
I think it’s just a mob riding on your head possible with commands except your arms are facing up
The explosions are actually pretty cool, wish that was a part of vanilla
This is so cool!! :D Awesome video!
With a horse (only entity I tested) you can shift click it and access the inventory. To pu an item in this inventory you can but the item in the offhand with the keybind and open the horse inventory and then press the switch offhand keybind and there you have it ! An inventory
Process here: www.twitch.tv/videos/1443164555
Alinity moment: 2:19
I kinda hope that like stained glass we eventually see block physics in the game. It would be cool to be able to fling blocks all over the place.
Honestly wish these snapshots were useable like a toggle in the “cheats” section of the create world menu bc this would be such a cool spin on the game to see in a series
Thanks for the amazing content!
the mobs you carry give you interesting effects, such as chickens give like a slow falling and spiders allow for climbing walls, and the pig is upside down, the skeleton will shoot almost where you look, this is lovely.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVIL X!!
I never expected to see a porkchop Frisbee in Minecraft 😂
The blocks blowing up looks really cool!
Lol I was about to search the snapshot on the internet when the video notification popped up.thanks xisuma
This would actually be a cool mod/data pack as a speed running kinda thing.
3:33 reminds me of the Dr. Suss book “Ten villagers up on top”
2:59 I like how he just let the summoning bee command show
I really want someone to make a more refined mod with this - like you can't put most items in chests, so you need to have whole storage areas for raw iron or something.
I wonder if the yeet mechanics might be for the combat update, like throwing stars or something like that
You got me so good with that title! Haha watching this in April 4th
Dripstone actually has a unique sound effect when thrown
5:25 An Enderman actually picked up water and placed it down lolll
I love that you can throw just about anything, including blocks.
I'm excited to see the speed runs for this one 😂
He Was So Happy Playing It
Could hear it in his Voice
I was so excited for the idea of vanilla inventory sorting
Damn, I’ve never seen you with this much energy before lol
I wonder if some of the physics stuff or other features may be something planned for the future. We’ve had plenty of April 1 snapshots with features from the future toyed with.
Cant wait to see the speed run on this.
i kinda like the throwing mobs thing it sounds fun
This whole video is so chaotic, I love it xD
the 2020 april fools they could change biomes with y level which was important to the next revealed update the nether update and there seems to be some stuff like that here with the footprints and block physics and maybe playable items
You're havin fun. =)
This is such a Good Version. Try it with the give command (and give yourself more at a time)
Inventory can be opened when sitting on a donkey and equipping it with a saddle. But it’s not working.
I had so much fun today.
Also blow up stuff with tnt that’s fun too. (A way to get block variants).
Edit: I watched the whole video now and realised you saw the querkiness with giving blocks. (When I did some testing I actually crashed my computer since I used sponge in an ocean. I maybe used like 1000 sponge and since I was playing on a non gaming laptop. It did not end well.
0:20 That was extremely unnerving.
Y'know, not gonna lie: being able to place items like tools and stuff in the world like this snapshot allows would actually be a really great feature to have.
you can craft by placing blocks and items in a 9 by 9 grid like a crafting table then throwing a crafting table on it.
I can't wait for the speedruns of this version.
Really fun snapshot from Mojang (studios)! I really liked how you covered it, I really laughed hard when you said frisbee when you threw the porkchop
Damn it! I forgot what day it was!
That's the most enthusiastic video I've seen from Xisuma.
