I started in Beta 1.3 (1.3_01 IIRC). It's really insane when I look back at the version I started with and the current one, and to see how much it's changed. Yeah, and they didn't switch to the sword because they were trying to block it out, but the creepers hitbox didnt let them place a block

For some reason I'm surprised that I've been playing Minecraft longer than Phoenix. I can't explain it, but I always expected him to have been playing for longer than I have. I started in Beta 1.3 (1.3_01 IIRC).
It's really insane when I look back at the version I started with and the current one, and to see how much it's changed. It doesn't even feel like it's been that long, but it's been 12 years now.
I was surprised too. I think it's because Phoenix has such in-depth technical knowledge about this game that we expected him to have also been playing it longer than us as well.
