Hey people, here's an explanation as to why the entities are here and what are their uses: - The parrot: its hitbox sticks a bit above of the block it sits in, so when the magenta glass is pushed down, the parrot's hitbox moves down, and triggers the gold pressure plates which takes care of the 2 bottom double extenders on the side that stores the blocks. - Boat+cart: it is used to power a pressure plate on the other side of the door when the last piston of the top row of pistons power; the minecart is floated (meaning it's not visually in the block the piston pushes down but its placement value is) towards the single piston extender, which will pull it up when it powers, and the boat is here because it's large enough to reach for the pressure plate. - Silverfish: When the piston that moves the sand block extends, the silverfish hitbox will be moved and power the pressure plate. The sideways hopper on top is here to make sure the minecart doesn't "unclip" from the other sideways hopper the silverfish+cart sits in. - Chicken: The chicken is here to lay eggs to we can shoot projectiles at the target block to power it. The chicken is used in particular because you can power the door forever, as it drops an egg every 5 minutes, so you'll never truly run out of door uses, but you'll need for the chicken to drop eggs. - Armor stand (can't really see it in the video, it's in the front piston of the bottom dpe on the side that doesn't store blocks): when the back piston of dpe will retract, the armor stand's hitbox will quickly enter and exit the string's hitbox, which will make it update its state and give 2 pulses 5 ticks apart to the observer in front. - Hopper minecart (near the chicken): it is to make sure the egg of the chicken doesn't get thrown away due to weird minecraft physics. I believe Door_Maker said we can get rid of it with another placement of the chicken. For a more brief explanation of why entities are used in redstone: to power areas that are not accessible through using normal wiring, or send an item that doesn't need to get back (chicken laying eggs)
