I recall hearing this song decades ago on the radio and thinking what the bleep is that?! (in a good way) I even took a mental note of his name and here were are in '23 and YT has served it up.
A true gentleman as well as one of the world's finest slide guitarists. Sonny's playing at New Orleans Jazzfest 2024 and around town, I'm looking forward to catching him two or three times during the Fest. Rock on Sonny!!
I saw sonny several times when he came to Madison Wisconsin. The first was when i was a kid in the mid 90's. I remember my dad holding me on his shoulders. He's a great player. He has some cajun influences pretty evident in his slide playing. I saw him again about 10 years ago. I love this song and i grew up on his first 2 albums. He has a such a unique approach. He's like the Mark Knopfler of slide.
The most innovative and creative guitarist of the last 50 years
you might like Ned Evett- fretless glass neck.....slide capo thingy, also very innovative
