- DC Comics are making a play for an underserved audience with this weeks Harley Quinn Annual. Which was made for neurodivergent cat ladies who have zero interest in Harley Quinn, DC Comics or comic books in general. To bait this audience DC brings in Erika Henderson to write and illustrate one of the dumbest versions of Harley Quinn in the history of DC Comics. This all comes down to us, as a culture, embracing mental illness instead of doing the hard work and addressing it.
I may sound like a very old guy, but ultimately I haven’t seen a version of Harley Quinn that’s better than her Batman TAS days. Funny enough, that version was imo even the most mature, despite acting childish.
I vaguely recall a time when I really liked Harley Quinn as a character. That feels like a different lifetime.

Honestly how many copies of this stuff does DC sell? 5k, 7k???? I just don't understand hoe profitability literally plays zero part in what this organization decides. They could close shop, stop making new books and just focus on reprinting stuff from the glory days and probably make more money. Most DC collectors would gladly fork over $75-100 for more Knightfall Omnibus reprints and other classic stories. Every year and every stupid comic that goes by, just makes me seek out older material that much more.
Me too, I’m just starting to get into comics this year. Haven’t even though about buying anything past 2015.
I could draw that well if I spent time.
It's a book that looks like it's drawn for very young children, with a story for teenagers, aimed at young adults, in a market where the average customer is over 30. I wonder why comics aren't making money?

How dare DC give the "artist" who did this book this story. It truly looks like art some of my friends did in middle school. Atrocious.
I love Zatanna, one of my favorite characters in DC. A clone is so out of character for her. She does all her own stunts, all her own acts, she uses practical magic with a hint of supernatural magic, and she works really really hard on every single little mechanic of her show. She LOVES being on stage, she’s a true actress through and through, she wouldn’t WANT to skip a show. She loves what she does. And personally, I really relate to the character for that. She loves her craft and she loves her Dad.
Yeah, I think we can all agree that these books are „in name only“ and not really anything people will ever consider canon or the definitive version of these characters (not even Harley Quinn).
DC keeps trying to push Harley Quinn into an A-List hero. Stupidly, she's not. The name Harley Quinn almost guarantees whatever project will be pandering garbage. Thank you Wes and Dok.

I grew up with artwork by John and Sal buscema , Neal Adams ,George perez, John Byrne, Jim Mooney, Ross Andru, john Tomita Jr and senior, Jack Kirby.
When I see artwork like I want to vomit and smash something.

I always hated what they did with Harley, I despise the new character design, as I loved the Jester look. I can’t stand that she’s now a kind of anti-hero, and then the fact they keep giving her to terrible writers that ruin the character even more.
She was never meant to be anything more than a warning.
Harley’s old design was iconic and fun. Her recent look is trash.

They want her to lead the Suicide Squad and eclipse the Justice League in popularity, but they never will. Her character only works only as Jokers sidekick / love interest, which is what she was created to be.

Guy Mandrake is a character created for this Comic because I thought it was a really random name, it just made me think of Mandark from Dexter's Laboratory, I even read the dialogue with his voice hahahahahaha.
Hold up now. We got Eat bang kill and Tim Drake robin in the same week. And we got Hawkgirl, Power Girl and Fire and Ice. The whole worst thing you ever read is becoming a meme! Or was that the point and it just flew completely over my head?! Is it like a recurring joke?

I feel as though the old Harley would make mean wisecracks about the audience that this book was meant for but now that DC has her and Ivy sharing the same litterbox, all I see is more lame jokes about trimming each other's bushes and having the audience feel like winners compared to how much of a loser Harley has become. My God, the art is horrendous, if the story doesn't put them off, the art definitely will.

The only people who would read it are 11 year old girls. And an 11 year old girl has never stepped foot in a comic shop in history. So yeah, not a great business model on DC’s part.

This is a great advertisement for manga , even the really bad stuff. DC needs to find a way to find actual writers and actual artists. i suspect most amateurs can do better than this.

As someone who grew up reading his Mum's Silver Age Batman comics, I find this garbage offensive to the legacy of DC Comics. Are they just an employment scheme for the mentally ill now?

Harley Quinn was a pretty good character when she was away from Joker in New 52 Suicide Squad. Since the Conner/Palmiotti ongoing, her character quality has dipped poorly. From Deadpool knockoff to one dimensional Looney Toons irrelevancy.
...Conner/Palmilotti are the ones who turned her into Deadpool knock off in the first place. They're the ones to blame

There are services and techniques that can help you launder crypto. It’s a little harder to trace than your Visa.

That's the bottleneck to anonymous use with Bitcoin. Then if law enforcement identifies/flags a Bitcoin wallet connected to, say a darknet market they can trace it all the way to the cash out even if mixers etc are used.
(That said they have to really really want the person connected to a particular wallet to go through all that trouble.)

The only good thing about this comic is that, aside from the fact that it’s not written by Tini Howard, it shows Harley spending time at a cruise. The only thing I can criticize about this comic is Vandal Savage in this comic, even though he can’t leave Gotham since a meteor can make him immortal as long as he can stay in Gotham.
“Crazy” has fewer syllables than “neurodivergent.” Also, more accurate.
And holy fuck, the cover art is awful.

2000ad publishers Rebellion have just announced a revival of romance comic "Roxy". The line up includes Alex Di Campi, Erica Henderson and Mags Visaggio. It's like a who's who of every unwanted "talent" in the comic book industry plus a load of people you've never heard of. Why even bother trying if that's the best you can do? And as for that Harley Quinn Annual cover - is Harley wearing a bikini version of those boob suppressors that trans men wear? Only her chest seems to have disappeared into a pocket dimension or something.

0:38- How many people are buying $755 swimsuits? I get that there are people in real life who buy expensive luxury items, but this feels like another example of the disconnect between current comic book makers and the average person. From what I’ve heard, Sex and the City also had women buying expensive brand name items, but it was honest about what it was; it didn’t crow, “These characters are just like you and face the same issues you do!” while depicting the characters having life experiences most people can’t relate to and treating the general public like garbage.
Man this looks like a child’s coloring book what with no shading or backgrounds not to mention the horrible clashing colors.
I hate how they always make her look with clashing colors instead of just using her red/black/white color scheme
