I engineered my Type 8 light, fast, and far jumping. Been using it to farm HGEs and Raw mats from crystalline nodes, and it is A BEAST. I’m getting 56 LY, boost 504 with dirty drag D-rated thrusters, size 7 fuel scoop which is insane, and 4D efficient shields just for safety. This thing can chew through 200,000 LS in SCO using less than half a tank of fuel and a heatsink or 2! Can fit it for hauling 352 tons shielded with size 5 scoop, collecting, jumping/exploring… a very fun and versatile ship!

Engineering has been dramatically reduced? That's literally the reason I quit. After I fully engineered my Exploraconda and was trying to start on my Corvette I just gave up. It was too mind-numbingly boring and stupid (like seriously, how were they ok with the log out/in nonsense?)

Brother, you can fill all your manufactured materials in a few hours of HGE scooping, no relog, there’s literally 50+ individual Grade 5 scoopables in every HGE! Get some limpets, a controller, trade down, and repeat. Every manuf and raw is FULL for me now, every single grade! Data I’m still trying to find the best way, but there’s missions that give 12-20 as rewards now! Great time to play ED.

I had my mats gathering optimized like hell but now it's even more ridiculous! Nobody talked about the crashed Anaconda in Orrerre 2B yet. The terrain isn't that bad anymore and now there are 14(!) cargo racks dropping crazy amounts of Antimony/Tellurium/Ruthenium. Once finished all 14 I was like 30-35 units of each of the mentioned raws. Manufactured mats I got me from the Laguz system where you can scan for HGEs like crazy. Took me a total of 7 minutes from jumping in to filling my Imperial Shielding from 0 to 100 with 2 minutes scanning and 5 minutes collecting. Ch'i Lin has the nearest mat trader and the process can be consistently repeated ad nauseam. Jameson's Crash Site has been improved as well. Filling the "usual suspects" takes 3 re-logs at most(!) - most of the time it takes me like 2 re-logs and *everything* is completely filled up. Diaguandri has the nearest mat trader. And with the mats requirements for engineering being reduced *dramatically* engineering a ship has never been easier. Right now I'm in the process of reviewing all my ships for improvements I shied away from until now. If someone ditched ED for the grind now is the time to come back!

Yeah true .. It was a big turn off .. I think frontier are making it easier now to promote cmdrs to try different loadouts that they probably couldnt be bothered spending so much time farming for last time .. maybe for the upcoming pvp Powerplay update ?
