    Congrats on your 14.3 sec lap! And a 5th overall. Wow.
    Thrilling to see this creation on the track beating tuned 911 GT3 RS's, GTS and Lambos.
    What I love about this channel is superior engineering followed by track time. And a local Ontario resident.
    Keep up the great content.

    Considering how little time you have actually spent on the track getting a chance to iron out the bugs you have made amazing progress with the car. I think also as you get more time driving it and getting used to its quirks you will drive it faster too.

    Hello from America XF Motorsports! I enjoy seeing the progress with your self made racing platform. I also think it's cool that a platform like the Honda Civic can still keep up at that level of competition.
    Your concepts for the completed bodywork on the ASL also look cool, they will definitely help the looks of the vehicle. Hopefully the performance too. Good Luck!

    Can you turn up the sound of your voice overs for future videos, the engine noise is much louder so im constantly having to increase and decrease the volume. Also, car looks awesome, I feel like you could pick up some time by picking up the throttle earlier but increasing the amount slower to not get wheel spin. The car seems to want to oversteer into corners which is probably the fastest entry behavior but it doesnt seem to plant and drive out of the corner but might be hard to tell since the pitch and roll looks pretty small. You just seem to be fighting it and waiting on it in the mid corner and exit

    • @benistingray6097
      @benistingray6097 2 года назад +2

      I`ve commented multiple times already and said something with the suspension is off. The car bounces around and hes fighting it all the time. There is no mechanical grip, a car this light with such wide and sticky tyres should have much much more mechanical grip.

  • @QueensGTO_Viper
    @QueensGTO_Viper 2 года назад

    This car is awesome - I love following this build since the beginning. The only thing I can think would make this car better is an all motor setup with a single cam. You can probably get the same power out of an LS7, save weight and center the weight more (i.e. - single cam in the center of the engine instead of overhead cams). Prob also good for long term reliability too, but in no way is this a criticism of this car. The E55 TT drivetrain is sick and you've built a truly impressive car! Can't wait for next video!

    Just stopping by after concentrating on viewing other content. Very good progress from XF Motorsports. The E55 ASL appears to be doing very well on track with a few tuning issues and mishaps. Probably just another day at the office for what appears to be a young race team, considering the new F1 car concept.
    I also watched a slightly older video XF posted where you show your custom pistons.
    I was thinking, as I am interested in also engineering some of my own components using CAD/CAM. The programs appear to have pre determined values for many of the calculations that must be done for these components.
    You made a point in bringing up simulated piston weight vs actual weight. Considering the density was incorrect for the weight, I was not sure if the density value was going to affect the expansion of the material, though it seems it would.
    I am not a mechanical engineer, but I have an extensive background in the brand you specialize in. Not relevant to the statement that I have been teaching myself how to use FreeCAD. I have not gotten to the point that I need to use either pre provided, or downloaded values that are a part of Autodesk that I presume you use.
    Unfortunately If I am correct, it should mean that your clearances for piston crown are not correct. Whether that means they are too tight or too loose us up for you to determine. That is research that I have yet to perform. Though that type of information will be important for my knowledge later.

    Starting to really shine. Can't wait to see it really dialed in and you dialed into it.
    The Max Attack run was crazy.
    Love this car, I actually found your channel looking to do push/pullrod suspension when you started it.
    However, I hate the dual oddfire exhaust sound. Build some 180s and cross the two pipes under the dry sump. It will sound incredible and you'll get a little more power.

    Love the channel man. I also have an interesting suggestion for your XF1 project. If you would like a very different sounding exhaust, look up either 180 crossover headers and check out the 5.3 LS powered E36 or check out 8 to 1 headers. I’m interested to hear what it would sound like on the Mercedes V8 because of it’s unique kind of really beefy sound.
    Edit: Just realized those header setups might be hard to implement with a twin turbo setup.

    You should probably start looking into improving that cage/roll bar design. Right now you don't really have much protection in case a another car ends up on top of you. Second, if you're not using HANS/HNR or similar neck restraint, you should - I couldn't see anchor points on the helmet.

    considering that you really haven't had extensive opportunities to get some seat time in the car, 5th is incredibly well done. I'd just remind you have a line planned for each corner, depending on where you're entering from and what traffic around you is like, and sticking to it. But you'll figure out how to be a sick race car driver, just like you figured out how to be a sick race car builder.

    U really should stop pushing the synchromesh gear set and go for proper dogbox so u wont need clutch during any gear shifting at all.. apart from moving from stand still and coming to a stop...
    That way u can keep your automated h pattern system...
    Or contact hgt gearbox for full proper sequential gearbox (and use your own automated shifting mechanism again)
    The m4 and 911 were faster on the straights not only because of the power.. also because of how fast their gearshift is even in stock factory setting
