If you have the ability; consider changing the throttle response map so that it's not so linear. Make it so the first 20% or so of the throttle position sensor reading really only goes up to, for example - 10% throttle position actual and then goes more linear. This would give you some drivability for moving it around, etc whilst leaving the top end untouched.
Yep, on our self-driving RC-Car, we hab an exponetial throttle-curve to make it more controllable at low speeds. I honestly don't know how a exponential curve drives in reality, but on our scale it helped a lot.
Its a cable throttle though. I'm not sure about ignition timing vs throttle percentage with AEM, but I know many standalones like megasquirt don't offer any control for things like that. Now boost by throttle percentage is definitely in there somewhere, but that engine not even in boost on that car is probably absurd all the time.
Yes! I really hope he makes an upgraded version of his adjustable rear wing. Possibly one that he can move really far back or closer to the rear axle depending on the track. Also airfoil around the top of the rollcage. And many people didn't like the intercoolers but look at a Williams FW05 or Tyrrell P34 1976 (the six wheeler). If it worked for them it can't be so bad.
Antal Bodnár, it looks like you know what you’re talking about. I also see a huge gap under the front a-arms. He should build a Bernoulli tunnel under there so that he can increase the height of the splitter and move the center of pressure rearwards.
@@minascholevas Good eye! That could work however it seems like he wants to do some kind of front wing. But we shall be patient! :D He has done an outstanding job so far and he showed the carbon sandwich panel (I hope he uses composite core foam not just some flimsy material) so it will be a sound design I'm sure. I'm curious to know what he comes up with.
This build will definitely benefit from some downforce. Complete front to rear application. Front splitter, undertray, rear diffuser, and rear wing. Can go even further with ducts and focusing on the Bernoulli effect.
This is easily the greatest build series I have ever watched and possibly the overall best on YT. It really made me smile to see you testing the car in your driveway on pretty much the same spot you pulled the broken engine from the E55.
That's really cool, when you hear people talking about "building a car" what they mean is totally different, this is truly 100% Built. Congratulations mate-well done!
@@xfmotorsports Thanks mate, should be a whole heap of fun when it is done. I have been learning a lot from your stuff, particularly the suspension geometry aspects. Looking forward to seeing how it all works on track.
I was going to say that's it's impossible to automate an H-pattern manual, but it's SK8215 we're talking about here... with this guy, the sky's the limit!
I've never been tempted so much to become a patreon member for any channel until now. Having my name a project car this legendary is a rare opportunity and you have put an incredible amount of thought and time into this build. I want to see you master this beast. You may have just sold that idea to a stingy self center mouth breather.
I've been watching this build from the start and with each episode it just gets better and better. Love the way you explain the fundamentals and your clear and concise procedural details, I'm so looking forward to seeing the beast on the track. A truly inspirational build.
Wow, congratulations! Well done so far. I love how casually to discuss complex wiring and engine mapping. You have a great knowledge and it's been a lot of fun to watch you build your car.
I've been following your project for almost the whole time you've been working on it and I'm so inspired. I' now on a Formula SAE team and your videos have recommended your videos on suspension geometry to other team members. I now have the task of redesigning the body so I'm so excited that you are about to do the same on your car! I'm already confident that your research and advice will prove helpful as it has in the rest of the content you post. Lastly, I would like to say 1. Congratulation on your first test-drive. You don't know how excited it made me to see your car on the road (even though we all know it's meant for the track!!) so I can't even imagine how excited you must feel. I could just see and hear the it in your face and your voice. So fun to share that here on RUclips! 2. I'm literally so stoked to see what you do with the paddle shifters. Will you still be able to shift the car the old fashioned way after adding the paddle-shifter system? Or will it require modifying the trans to the point where it would be impossible to change shifting modes?
no wonder american race car are junks:) SAE team formula? better keep the money and save yr brain on yr family then junk projects:) U said u been to moon? YES! YES! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! CONGRATULATIONS! To see this thing from a piece of paper to a finished speed demon is just incredible! I'm so happy for you! 😀🙌👍💪
Congratulations man! Couldn't be happier for you. Been following this project from the start and it's been amazing watching your dream turn into a reality. Can't wait for the next video, as always. Keep it up!
I have to give you a huge thanks for this series. I’m on a 14 day quarantine in Japan- I travel for the Boeing Co, fixing airplanes- and you have saved my sanity, and provided a ridiculous amount of information to apply to my own E55. SO satisfying to see you finally reach this milestone-Congratulations!!!!
Could hear the joy in your voice and almost ' lived ' it with you. Congrats on achievement this far and we can't wait for the next episode (as usual 🤔).
Well done dude!!!! The effort that you put on that thing is inspiring!!!!! Keep going in this way that you are gonna acheve great things! Greedings from Brazil
woaaaooo you almost done with it i've been following since you first start with this project. you are one of a kind my respects to your hard work and dedication!
This motivated me to go out and buy a new car air freshener
what kind of custom car are you building around that air freshener???

It's a manual throttle body but I'll try to improve it and add a damper
Congrats man! You totally deserve the satisfaction
Edit: Add a lot Downforce please!

Damn, you're build has been so motivating to go out and get a project and do what I've always wanted. Thanks for your knowledge and your crazy ideas!
In PC Gaming terms its called your throttle position GAMMA. Its to setup the throttle using a curve.
Big congrats my dude, you did it!!!
