    Hi, back again binging your vids.
    When the orange light is absorbed by hexaaquacopper (II), shouldn't the electrons eventually de-excite and emit photons of orange light as well? How is it that we continuously see the solution as blue and not as a fluctuation between orange / blue? Is it because there is a continuous white light source?

      Basically yes. The white light is necessary for the solution to be blue.

Sir pls l have a question what if we were given a complex ion how do u know the colour of the complex ion because l understand that when u knw d complex ion colour like copper is blue n d opposite complimentary colour is orange. But hw do u knw is blue

      Students are not required to know the colours of specific complex ions so the question should tell you what colour it is.

    Great video! One question though, why is the transmitted light complimentary to the light absorbed?

      The colour wheel only gives an approximation of the wavelengths of light transmitted. It’s not entirely accurate but is good enough at this level.

    Why are some colours so intense, like the intense red of Fe(SCN)(H2O)5?

      The colour depends on the wavelength of light that is transmitted (and absorbed) by the solution of complex ions.
