can u explain why Fe shows 3 plus ion , in case of Cu one electron goes from 4S to 3d , but in case of Fe it does not happen, then how it forms Fe 3 plus
Iron (Fe) forms Fe³⁺ because the resulting 3d⁵ half-filled configuration is (relatively) stable. Copper (Cu) does not easily form Cu³⁺ because the electron configuration after removing two electrons (3d⁹) is not as favorable or stable as 3d¹⁰ (Cu⁺). Hope that helps :)
