    --------------------------------------------
Rippling rivers, rustling forests, wheat fields swaying in the wind and here and there a cute little village - that's Dorfromantik! The video game from the small developer studio Toukana Interactive has been thrilling the gaming community since its Early Access in March 2021 and has already won all kinds of prestigious awards. Now Michael Palm and Lukas Zach are transforming the popular building strategy and puzzle game into a family game for young and old with Dorfromantik: The Board Game.
In Dorfromantik: The Board Game, up to six players work together to lay hexagonal tiles to create a beautiful landscape and try to fulfill the orders of the population, while at the same time laying as long a track and as long a river as possible, but also taking into account the flags that provide points in enclosed areas. The better the players manage to do this, the more points they can score at the end. In the course of the replayable campaign, the points earned can be used to unlock new tiles that are hidden in initially locked boxes. These pose new, additional tasks for the players and make it possible to raise the high score higher and higher.

5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
    2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
    1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

I love this game. This is one of the few board games my non-gamer wife really enjoys. We also found the six player limit kind of meaningless, as we've happily played with up to eight people, adding people as new players turned up mid-game.
Note, when you achieved your five forest task you hadn't actually got five connected forests, as the forest/rail/village tile ("one") was only connected by rail.

I played my first game the other night. Relaxing, straightforward and surprisingly rich

I love this game, extremely enjoyable and pretty fast, but 1-6 players on the box is funny, this is pretty much a max 2 player game imo.

I love this game. Yes it’s light but sometimes you need a light game. I agree this shines as a solo game

I will likely get this one only to play with my kid. He loved unlocking things in Zombie Kidz and Zombie Teenz, so he'll likely love this one as well.

Thanks for the review. Your camera keeps losing focus at time, probably because of the boxes in the background. 14:15 is a good example.

You describe it accurately. Let me add some points I don't like. 1. The windmill on the illustration of the game is not included and it's not but a bonus / promo... Feels like someone forgot to add it and they picked the 'promo' road. 2. As much light as it feels, try going for 400p and see if you don't consume like an hour on it. 3. To actually beat 400 is not for the lighthearted. Need at least to remember all the bonus and task train and stream tiles to build accordingly. 4. Quality is not that good... After 15 games tiles will start showing wear signs.

It seems the scoring method is different (and lower scale) than the video game... Actually, it looks like other than laying hex tiles with certain terrain types, it isn't much like the video game. Which I guess isn't much of a surprise. Or necessarily a bad thing.

Why can't it be? Good for two people, relaxing so you can play and talk, cooperative and beautiful to look at. I think it's a good experience. But if you want something more exciting, maybe try Nova luna.
