My City is a competitive legacy game in which you develop a city on your own playing board through the ages.
The game consists of 24 episodes, beginning with the development of a city in its early preindustrial stages and progressing through industrialization. During each game, players customize their experience by adding elements to their personal boards and adding cards to the game. Players' choices and action made during one session of gameplay carry over into the next session, creating a personalized gaming experience.
For players who do not want to experience My City as a legacy game, a double-sided game board offers an alternate set-up for repeatable play (some elements from the legacy experience are needed for the repeatable play game, players can unlock these elements by playing through the first 4 episodes).

4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

Fantastic timing for this review. I nearly bought this game when I was browsing around at my game store but didn’t get it because I wasn’t entirely sure. I wonder how well it replays but I’m sure you’ll address that by the end of the review.

Got this when it first came out and have played the campaign twice. Another good point is that it plays well with physical copies across the world, using Skype or whatever, and calling the pieces bingo style! We were able to tweak it beyond four players with multiple copies no problem. As well as wanting to lose those two scenarios, I felt that it got slightly too fiddly towards the end and could have happily finished at scenario 21 or thereabouts. Using my own rating scale, I’d give it 72 out of 80 😊

I'm new to board games, and new to "Legacy" games. I don't know how I feel about permanently marking a board game with ink or stickers. It is not how I was brought up as a child! It just feels wrong.
