Really nice video and a good list! One constructive criticism is i would say more poctures of the games you talk about to help the viewers who havnt heard of the game see what you are talking about :)
@@Tablenauts I've seen some videos with images taken from bgg, just credit and use them. Must be a pain in the ass to open and prepare each game to show it, this way will take you no time. Great content btw!
I love the Set a Watch games. The second one is super solid, I really enjoy the added treasures from the market. It adds enough without making things too complex. Also waiting on the KS for the third one plus the campaign for all three. I love seeing someone cover it, because it does not get enough love. Champion away!
Ok I’m still watching the video but had to commend you on the opening before I forgot to. I’d love to see the others’ impersonations of their fellow Tablenauts. Resist! Try one of the games in David Thompson’s Valiant Defense series.
I will for sure look up that Valiant Defense series! And as for the impersonations, that’s the first thing we all talked about is what they’d do for me 🤣
Although Spirit Island is in my top games, I’ve actually never played it solo crazily enough!! I need to also try Mage Knight, since it’s a top for many people.
NO but I badly want to try the Witches Coven game. Hostage Negotiator I have heard is just Final Girl but not so fine tuned and without the cool theme, so I am unsure about it. Would you say its worth the pickup?
@@TablenautsI like HN a lot. The theme was intriguing, and the system was uniquely great. I haven't tried FG though, so I can't compare. (I was hoping you could!)
Thanks for the list! "Set a Watch" is new to my wish list. It also confirms "Witchcraft," the new "Resist," belongs, too. I'll share two favorites solo experiences on my list that I rarely see in others' lists. Maybe they'll pique interest. 1. GI Joe Deck Builder (3-handed) 2. Ashes Reborn - Red Rains (I only have the first solo expansion but many of the Phoenixborn)
Great List! I can confirm that Dorfromantik is a great and addictive solo experience. Some other great solo games for me are Paperback Adventures, Rollplayer Adventures (though its even better with company), Witchcraft!, Skulls of Sedlec, Heat, Friday and Too Many Bones.
Great video, hilarious skit, mostly thinking about the rest of the Tablenauts watching it and how they would react haha Of the games I have played Final Girl and Set a Watch, with only Final Girl played solo. My wife and I love Set a Watch and I might have to go try it solo this week, you got me excited for it! Definitely the game I play most solo is Spirit Island, though most of the time I play on steam so I can save my games and come back later, it is just such an interesting fun puzzle. The other would be Turing Machine, which I love to do the daily puzzles on BGA, less of really a game, especially playing by yourself, but a nice brain workout that always feels satisfying!
I completely agree about Turing Machine!! It almost made my list. It would be maybe… 5 spots down. Great extra picks though and thank you for sharing!!
I like Resist! but it is so punishing and pretty lucky at times. I wanted to love it but after 3-4 plays I am seriously considering moving on from it. Somehow it just doesn’t seem fun or puzzley to me.
Nice list! Some of my favorite solo games are Anachrony, Age of Innovation, Paperback adventures, Marvel champions, Dune Imperium, Shadowrun crossfire, Caverna and Hallertau Tonight Im looking forward to trying Stonevall uprising solo!
Nice list. I want to try Anachrony sometime. Until then my list has similarities with your list: Marvel CH, Dune: Imperium, and Shadowrun Crossfire are in my all time favorite list as well.
@@Tablenauts Well, the 2nd Edition is in fullfillment right now. They will probably sell a few copies on their shop too. Maybe give it a try. Personally I love the game, its narrative and especially the fight system.
As someone who’s played a ridiculous amount of solo board games I can confidently say that Spirit Island is the single greatest brain burn one can experience at a table solo, I almost always prefer it solo than coop. Either true solo or dual wielding spirits both work great. There are tons of different ways to scale the difficulty, and it has infinite replayability. There is a massive community of players out there talking strats that are always willing to lend advice. I would recommend not playing with the event deck, just to keep from dying out of the blue at higher difficulties from an unlucky event.
Wondering if anyone else tried to guess the real name of the games via the spoiler LOL. I was able to get Gladiator & Chips, Mouth of the Jaguar, Ultimate Lady, Spoiled Cup. Also i really need to jump onto the Final Girl Train and, how have I not heard of Set a Watch?! It sounds awesome, and I love D&D
Thank you!! 😂 I love making those. Here lately I haven’t been because we got some complaints that people couldn’t find the games they wanted to hear about, but maybe I’ll sneak them in every once and a while again 😂
I’m on Sleeping Gods and Unsettled now, solo only player here. On holidays vacations, I play a lot of Maquis, Warp’s Edge and Valeria. Hoplo Victorum is so sick, I give up on Set a Watch cause the famous purple dice with black dots, no kidding, I can’t. I have to give a try to Tainted Grail and Final Girl. Thanks for sharing. 👌
My favorite is CHAINSAW WARRIOR. If you know movies like "The Raid" or "Dredd" you got the feeling. You are a warrior, who fights his way through a building full of monsters and traps. And that against the clock. I revised the rules from 1987 and made a coop modus. Be warned ! This game is brutal, merciless and nearly unwinable....but fun, fun fun..........
I have a weird relationship With solo. I prefer games at 2 with my wife so the games I tend to solo are the games that I freaking love but she will only play if I beg like too many bones. Or I solo to learn a game to play with her but that can backfire because then it can end up being lopsided because I’ve got a play under my belt. Great video. Makes me want to get more games played solo
Your enthusiasm for Set A Watch tipped me into backing the last Kickstarter. Final Girl and Resist! are also two of my favorites. Ive been looking for The Ratcatcher but it's been OOP for a year or two now. 🚫🐀 Quick shout for For Northwood!, which is a fun solo trick-taking game - pocket-sized, almost zero setup, and perfect for when you only have 20 minutes to play.
Can I ask how many characters you played Tainted Grail with? Did you use two? (As I am about to start it). Although I have ISS Vangaurd coming, have you tried that?
I used just one character, and I actually recommend doing that if you are playing on your own! There’s enough to manage as is. As for ISS, I have tried it and I did like it, but not nearly as much as Tainted Grail! It was a really cool system, but I found it a bit too tedious, and set up and tear down actually discouraged me from taking it back out after a good 15 hours into the campaign.
I also really enjoy Final Girl and Set a Watch! I skipped Resist because I don't like playing war games based on real events, it makes me feel very uncomfortable. I did back Witchcraft by then which, is in the same system so I'm looking forward to that eventually delivering. I really enjoy Legacy of Yu, Oak, and Rococo Deluxe solo. I've been putting off playing some of my big campaign narrative games so I can share them with someone, but it is impossible right now to meet up with people due to scheduling conflicts, so I may break down and just play one. 🤔😅
I also waited FOREVER to finally get those campaigns worked on haha. I think I’ll do a video soon on how I made this solo board that I can leave a game out on and put away if I need to, because I’ve had a lot of questions about it!
@@TablenautsIf you ever figure it out, post it here! I'd love to hear what they said, especially after seeing so many other negative reviews of the game.

Yes, more images of the game would be nice. Even some pictures from bgg will be fine!
Excited to make the list!
Deservedly so! I’ll be working on getting that solo achievement card done for a long time! Haha
