If you don't mind me asking, do you ever run into issues with Feed the Kraken where it seems like only a couple of people actually get to take part in the game and everyone else just sits there, but if they want a chance to get to do anything, they are almost always forced to mutiny, but then everyone distrusts them just so they can get a turn? Ive looked at the game for maybe trying to get to take to a public game night I go to, and it just seems like people at the table wont really get to do anything. If you'd like a recommendation for a social deduction game, I'd recommend Hail Hydra. EVERYONE gets to take part in the game, but you dont always get new cards so you have to use your stuff sparingly. Also, what would you recommend for someone who loves deck building games, but only really the DC Deck Building Game, Epic Spell Wars Annihilageddon, Transformers Deck Building Game, and Power Rangers Deck Building Game? I'm sorry if you aren't familiar, but I really only like deck builders that are just deck builders, Adding extra stuff just makes me choice confused and then I just want to skip my turns so others can do stuff and they don't have to wait on me lol
@@truerockfan hey thanks for the comment! I see what you’re talking about in regards to feed the kraken! In my personal experience I haven’t felt that because after a voyage is made, the navigator and first lieutenant become “off duty” meaning, they can’t be used in the next voyage, forcing the captain to pick two other people and getting others involved Also in regards to deck builders, have you tried the Star Wars deck building game? I feel like it’s a pure deck builder and it’s not that long, there’s even a newer one that just came out that covers the clone wars if that’s more your cup of tea

06. Brass Birmingham
07. Spirit Island
08. Mythic Battles Pantheon
09. Blood Rage
10.
I go with this list. Easy for me, since I am not into cooperative, story/campagn, legacy games. Yeah, spirit island is an exception.
Should mention, that I have all expansions for this games.
I've been hearing a lot of good things about Wonderlands War, and I've been curious to play Brass Birmingham but I definitely want to join a group to play that before directing a group to play it lol
I really need to check out Heat. I really wasn't interested in a racing game, but everyone seems to love it. My favorite is a kind of obscure Stonemeir game called Euphoria (it's the game that got me back in the hobby). Runners up: Merchants and Marauders and Concordia.
Definitely check out heat! It plays really fast compared to other racing games that ive played
Yep, HEAT is a group favorite at our house too.
@@kcw1879 nice! Have you tried the expansion?
@@BanterandBoards Nope. Core game is more than enough for our group.
@@kcw1879 I feel the same way!
Agree on your number 1. Such an underrated game
@@oldplayer8025 oh yeaahhhhh! I got the new expansion that just came out for it, can’t wait to try it out!
Bloodlines not yet in New zealand but have 4/10 you your top 10
@ nice! I will let you know what I think of the expansion once I play it!
Only know 'Lost Cities' from your list. Agree it is a great little game and easy to teach = Easy to recruit new players. For under £15/$15 is a real bargain.
@@carrickrichards2457 it’s A LOT of game for such a small price!
I just bought dune uprising and i cannot wait!
@@laxuscloud2495 yessssss!!!! Enjoy!!! It personally made me fall in love with the dune universe and I’m reading the book now lol. This game singggssss
@@BanterandBoards i opened the box and just sleeved all the cards just now. Dammit i will find time to solo this game first.
Everdell is one of my faves!
@@izzyserrano3876 Nice! Literally just finished playing a game of it on the digital app version. It’s a really solid game!
I've only played Root, Star Wars Deckbuilder, and Dune Imperium Uprising. I love the Dune game. Have you played Lost Ruins of Arnak? or Endless Winter? They are both worker placement/deck builders as well and so fun to play. Lost Ruins is my favorite.
@@eyefisher I have not played Lost Ruins of Arnak but have been curious about it as i very much enjoy the worker placement/deckbuilding mechanic, it’s definitely on my list of games to try!
Hmm as much as you say you don’t like racing games I get the impression you like racing games. Good video!
@@pwing2611 lol maybe…..😜🤣
Dune Imperium for life
Just a suggestion, can you put the player count, and play time duration next time.
for sure! i'll keep that in mind for the next video!
I still have all the cards from the original fantasy flight Star wars card game lcg which is a most awesome game!
@@josephgarcia9076 nice! Have you played any of the recent Star Wars games? Obviously the deck building game I mentioned or Star Wars unlimited?
@@BanterandBoards no I have not mainly because I don't need to get into yet another card game 😂 I noticed that fantasy flight drop the original SW lcg I wonder if it had something to do with license. I noticed that they started another star wars card game almost similar but I didn't look into it much.
@@josephgarcia9076 haha I understand! Card games can be a money pit lolol. I have somehow been sucked into this new star card game (Star Wars unlimited) and it’s been a lot of fun haha, will actually be making a video about it 😆
Thunder road on the way. Barely found it here in Europe!
@@WASDcrazy sweet! Have fun with it! You’re in for a ride! 😆
W list!
@@onnisnare244 W comment 😝
Great collection of games!
As someone who hasn't seen/read anything (yet) of the Dune movies/books, would you still recommend Dune?
@@jaspersiegers I played dune and fell in love with it before knowing anything about the books. I had seen the first one at the time and liked it but wasn’t crazy about it. But playing the game made me want to get notes immersed in the dune universe for sure!
I love board games, I just bought a beautiful 3D Parecheesi on Amazon! It's my favorite, do you know this game? Congratulations on your channel and your videos! 🤗
@@jinglesstudiofilmsdocument6625 thank you and that sounds awesome! I’ve never heard of it, what is it?
Great list. These are all fairly recent, Lost Cities aside. Did any other older game come close to cracking your top 10?
@@riogakun there’s definitely a few! It’s also just contingent on what I’m able to get on the table a lot and get more sessions with. There’s definitely some that could change within the next couple of years but we’ll see! At the moment, these are my favorite! Thanks for watching!
In my personal experience I haven’t felt that because after a voyage is made, the navigator and first lieutenant become “off duty” meaning, they can’t be used in the next voyage, forcing the captain to pick two other people and getting others involved
Also in regards to deck builders, have you tried the Star Wars deck building game? I feel like it’s a pure deck builder and it’s not that long, there’s even a newer one that just came out that covers the clone wars if that’s more your cup of tea
You’re the 🐐
@@adrianjoseph2357 haha no goat here lol but thanks for the kind words! Just want to share what I’m passionate about! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Production is really impressive, do you have another channel?
@@GatheringGames thank you!! Soo cool you’re here! I love your content btw!!! I have another one for my business (I’m a wedding videographer) but I have been doing videos for fun since I was 13 and use to make RUclips skits back when I was a teenager
the only downside to Heat is that the expansion boards do not fit in the standard box, and that's a shame. Otherwise it is a blast!
@@oniinside123 ah man that stinks! Which is ur favorite track?
