GUYS IM CRYING! My brother played Jack Davis Jr. in this episode and I’ve been looking for it for years! I can’t believe this video was recommended to me on here! Him and Jack resemble each other so much...
My brother recently passed away so it is so wonderful seeing him again in this episode. Rest In Peace Jack and my brother Johnny! 💕

I am "Dr. David Faux" in the above "Psychic Family Roots" segment. This version with Robert Stack is original, the "real McCoy", and infinitely better than the radically edited one where Dennis Farina replaces Robert Stack. The latter has been radically edited and proves the point that "there ain't nothing like the real thing". I had my video camera with me and so have hours of behind the scenes snippets taken during the two days of filming my clip in San Diego - 25 years ago!

These episodes have been condensed and repackaged also. A lot of the episodes are not how they originally aired, although I agree they are much better than the Farina episodes.

@@Romans8-9 I got a note in my e-mail (but do not see it here) that you asked a question as to whether Robert Stack pronounced my name correctly. Indeed yes. The spelling of the surname in Yorkshire is Fawkes but same name. I avoid noting this on 5 November (Guy Fawkes / Faux Day). The surname started as Falke but morphed in East Anglia to Faulkes and Faux. Most just pronounce the name as "Fox" but in Norfolk they at one time could easily detect the difference between Fox and Faux. Cheers.

I get very irritated when I see comments like this one. My mother was sixteen when she was struck by a drunk driver, which shattered her body, landed her in a six-month coma where they said she'd die or be a lifelong vegetable...while she did made a near-complete physical recovery (or I'd not be here!), she DID have a case of complete retrograde amnesia and had to restart from the beginning. It took decades for her to get any glimpses of that old person back, and most of it will never return. She recalled to me how terrifying it was to come awake like that and not understand anything or anyone around you; it was confusing and she was very afraid. She was very fortunate to have so many siblings and a set of parents who went about helping her relearn everything and, perhaps, it helped her re-establish family bonds with, as she put it, "a bunch of strangers." She's a walking medical miracle to have made such a complete recovery aside from that amnesia and some body scarring.
You can figure, then, why I get so annoyed by uneducated, assumption-laden comments like this one...

I don't intend this comment as an insult but if you do enough research amnesia and polio were very common back then it's hard to imagine now because as technology and medicine progressed it became more rare

I went to IUP in 2010-2012. Passed Weyandt Hall (where Jack's body was found) all the time. I too have a hard time believing that his body could have just stayed there for 5 days without anybody noticing him. And for anyone wondering how the body could have been transported there- IUP has these big laundry carts that Residence Life/Greeks were able to check out and use for transporting items across campus. He could have been hidden in a dorm, then died, and then someone got one of those laundry carts, placed his body there, and then dumped him.

Regarding kristy kerbs, mental breakdowns can happen out of the blue, I’ve witnessed people literally cry and scream out of the blue. I myself also felt like I am on the precipice on losing my tenuous connection to reality and take on something far more sinister almost unworldy. It’s an overwhelming feeling of despair that nothing to do seems to work. Something as simple as picking up a spoon and keep dropping it inexplicably or tying your shoes, something you’ve done for years effortlessly suddenly became insurmountable difficult for some reason and you can’t understand why. It’s very traumatic.

What the update didn't say is that the private investigation agency handling the case didn't discover this until a year and a half after this story aired so when Walter found out, Philip had been gone the last seven years. While he had gone by his adoptive name, Philip lived in Central Falls, Rhode Island, less than 50 miles from Walter. And 41 years old only? I wonder what happened. I believe Kristi had an undiagnosed type of bipolar disorder & the second time she had trouble with her car, she had a high-level manic episode and 'gave up on living life' in general.
I have BPD (that I've been properly & successfully dealing for years, btw) and there were moments in my life where minor issues would occur that I would just break down, snap, and give up on myself; yet I would remember to get a hold of emotions & know that it isn't the end of the world.

I think that’s sadly pretty impossible, just given her fragile state at the time. I now tend to think she never left the woods and died due to exposure. She was on a logging road, so I find it highly unlikely a predator happened upon her there. And it would be a miracle if someone in her reported state managed to get back to the main road and then be abducted(also still a pretty remote area and it was really late). I think the ripped up pictures and the radio being taken out were things she did in her manic/upset state for her own reasons. I think she was just missed in the search of the area, which isn’t hard to do.

He's a prime example of someone with tunnel vision. He insists that Jack was thrown down the stairs even though Dr. Wecht proved that it was not so since the body lacked the necessary bruises. It had rained for 2 days, while Jack was allegedly in the stairwell, but his clothes were dry when he was found. I'm sure this officer would explain that away since it doesn't fit his theory. It's amazing that police officers like this are able to catch anyone at all.

Update on Jack Davis Jr. case:
Unsolved - After the story was filmed, “Unsolved Mysteries” was contacted by the current District Attorney of Indiana County. He pledged to follow up on any new leads that might be developed through the show. It is not known if any were uncovered.
In 2005, Jack's family was contacted by a retired Indiana Borough police officer. He claimed that Jack had asked him for protection just two weeks prior to his death. It is not known why he did not contact the family or act on the information at the time. Brennan believes that Jack was attacked by someone he knew. Despite the new leads, the case remains a mystery.
Sadly, on December 26, 2021, Elaine (Jack’s mother) passed away at the age of seventy-six. John (Jack’s step-brother) has also since passed away.

college boy story; not only was he placed there well after he was beat to death, the student body was influenced to not notice the boy down at the bottom of the stairs, by their most influential subgroup. ignore the local tax-payer rip-offs as usual.

My father died at 41 in 1983. His wasn't a particularly rough or difficult life, and he didn't die in an accident. Of course I suppose difficult is relative...
