The case of where the woman stops off in the dead of the night to get a drink but then gets attacked by a serial killer on the loose was one of the most frightening episodes ever, especially how when Robert Stack utters the chilling words: "If there was a serial killer on the loose, this was the perfect setting for him to find a victim" and that shocking and deranged music. The scariest part for me though was the way he was looking down at her as he drove off and for her to drive off only to find herself riding his bumper. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time but fortunately survived.
That same music was used during the I-70 Killer case that also gave me nightmares for decades.

@@overcomerbtbojesus I must have seen this when I was about nine or ten. I remember being paralysed with fear during this section and even as a man approaching 40, it still sends some chills down my spine. The I-70 Killer case also freaked me out as did the Sacramento Thrill Killings (where a deranged dude shot three people in a convenience store and three more in a pizza parlor)
The funny thing with UM was that it frightened us to where we were scared stupid yet we always went back for more. For me it was every Saturday night at 8pm followed by Cops. Fun times.

I see a man beaten down by life, that took his rage out as revenge on women who personified the trauma others had inflicted throughout his life. Possibly by a female figure in his childhood. I don’t believe he resorted to sexual assault, he let his victims go when they stopped resisting.
Those limits feel like a hard line before psychopathy. A true psychopath would likely not have any boundaries, but he was still malignant.

Most of you don't know what a world is like without cellphones and internet. Our only option was going to a library. And the information you got then couldn't be easily verified so people took it as gossipal. Word of mouth reigned supreme. With the internet we gained the huge advantage of information at our finger tips.
I remember pagers being a big deal back in highschool. Before that my father had a cellphone that took up the trunk of his car. He had to press a button to raise the idle when he used it. Then came the brick phones.

The next thing I know, he starts walking to his vehicle... and I said these words that I will regret for the rest of my life. I said, “hey, asshole, what about my windshield?” because he was walking away and I have a smashed windshield. At the same time, I didn't feel threatened.
