    Really enjoyed meeting you both today! Sorry it was so rushed and I don't do cameras! LOL - anyway what you were given is "la·gniappe" /ˌlanˈyap/ - something given as a bonus or extra gift. It's just what we "Cajuns" do! :) Be safe and can't wait to see our video!

    Two things:
    1. Am sorry to hear of your wife's passing, sir. Losing a loved one is never easy. I had to help my father through the same thing when his wife died a few years back.
    2. I own an LSG & have used it a few times...would like to fire it up way more often but living in a 2nd-floor unit with a wood patio can cramp your style in certain ways. That little firebox opened my eyes to the glory of live-fire cooking. I thought the Lodge grill was the ultimate in portable grills...until I watched this video. Dammit. 😄

    Great review. I was looking at the Lodge Kick-Off Grill. Which has some nice features, but what I like about this is that the fire is more accessible if you need to add more charcoal either from the top by removing the grate, or even from the door. I just like the idea of having access to the fire. I also like the fact that it contains the coals more. I can't get past the flat charcoal pan of the Kick-Off. I'm wondering if anybody has any experience input on that.

    • @BigLewBBQ
      @BigLewBBQ  Год назад

      I have both. Yes you can access the coals easier with the Cajun. However, the Kickoff is much less prone to flare ups. Because of this I actually prefer the Kickoff. Even so both are good grills.

    Nice review, I know my phone and computer and everything else is made there, and I would consider a Chinese made Hibachi, but I am concerned about lead content in the mix, I do not trust Chinese manufacturers to remove all traces of lead ( and other hazardous traces ) , the health of their customers is not their main interest, Didn't baby formula milk made in China had plastic in it not long ago ?

      I have Lodge Sportsman’s grill, too. It is made in the USA. Back in 2012 I ordered it from Amazon.
      I purchased this Cajun Classic grill from a local shop owner in my town. I bought it from a real live person, a Veteran of the United States Military, I bought it in an actual brick and mortar store.
      Yes it was made in China, but it was purchased from a proud American that I spoke with face to face.
      Tell me kind sir, which is better? To buy something Asian made from a local mom and pop shop? Or to buy something American made and support a multinational corporation like Amazon, that all sells plenty of other stuff made in China?
      Yes, I wish it was American made, but I don’t make US labor laws. Even so it is made well, and Cajun Classic is 100% dedicated to selling their stuff in locally owned businesses.
