Jpegmafia said in an intreview he deliberately looks for japenese music and anime ost's because it is just entirely differently structures from western compositions
I think Ghostemane and Bones also sampled Burzum. Alot of that ambient weird black metal is perfect for sampling but yeah the ethics of it are weird too.
Sick video! A band which may interest you if you like cool sampling shit is Ground Zero. This experimental Japanese jazz rock outfit, headed by Otomo Yoshihide, uses a lot of sampling in interesting ways. For example the sample in the album (it’s one track) consume red is insane and makes it sound super ominous
It's nothing groundbreaking, but I LOVE Tunnel Vision by Kodak Black's intro that samples El Aparecido by Inti Illimani. Mostly because the first time I heard it, it shook me to my core to hear I song I grew up with from my dad in a rap song.
Incubus was recording in the same studio as Jurassic 5. Brandon Boyd is on Quality Control, in the intro, and DJ Kilmore definitely shared a bit with J5, just can’t remember the particular track. Two of my favorite artists just happened to be together and the result was wonderful.
AJ Suede’s new self produced EP has a lot of really sweet samples on it. I would also say Billy wood’s sampling Valentine Elizalde on A Mis Enemigos (produced by Marmaduke) is a fantastic, surprising sample.
Idk if you mentioned this before but golddust by Danny brown samples the song atrocity exhibition by Joy divisions for I believe the drums which inspired the album obviously but it also samples people from out the space by embryo which I’ve never heard of but it is this psychedelic rock song with some jazz influences and elements and gives golddust this really strange beat that makes it feel like a bad drug trip
Havent heard the 2022 ghais guevara album, the intro track was in my playlist for awhile.I forgot that i want to listen to the album , and you just hyping me, making me to look forward to listening to the album.( edit: holy sht bruh, it's amazing, thank you for make me listen to ghais even sooner).
Thank you for putting me on to Ghais Guevara. I’m so glad that I now have him in my rotation. BlackBolshevik and TWBNSS are really interesting and great listens with some fantastic tracks
as a metalhead who thinks varg vikernes, burzum, and the entire nsbm scene are stains on the metal subculture-i am absolutely dumbfounded that anyone would sample his stuff. especially when burzum (and varg specifically) are so infamous in the scene, the smallest bit of research would reveal all the terrible shit he’s done. i guess i can only hope that the sample isn’t being used “legally” or they there’s some other copyright/royalty loophole to avoid giving that man money. i mean damn i don’t even listen to the first band he was a part of bc that history is too fucked up for me to feel comfortable engaging with, i could never imagine using a sample from the guy who basically single-handedly gave black metal a bad name.
I am sure you're familiar with Billy Woods at least since "'Hiding Places" since he really seemed to start getting more recognition on that release. But if you go back 10 years he has a song called "'Pro Wrestling" off his Dour Candy album with some cool wrestling samples strewn throughout.
Tbh Gucci did kill someone too (tho clear self defense). I mean Gucci is of the Southern underworld. Not surprising they both unite over a certain vibration. Gucci probably even knows a few racists who love his music.
Please do more Why Isn't Anyone Listening To episodes, I feel they're some of your best work and helped me find so many great artists like Choker and Dijon.
@@garymitchell3202 he mentions patrisse cullors stole my scissors, but also mentions him a time or two again later on. His entire album could fit in here from its samples.
I wish that the song (from Ghais) you want us to listen is actually listed somewhere or shown the title of the song in the actual video but otherwise nice work on the vid
Wouldn’t be surprised if Gucci mane likes black metal it’s kinda hard to explain but it wouldn’t be the most surprising thing 💀 Edit: also I seriously doubt they cleared the sample idk much about how varg acts but considering what he stands for I seriously doubt they called him up for a sample clearance and got the thumbs up
I found out about Gucci Mane sampling Burzum from a black metal meme page and I was appalled, Varg has a really good sense of humour too but his ideas... Not so much
Got til it's Gone by Janet Jackson. A R&B and Trip Hop track revolving around a sample of Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell is always such a wonderful fusion and puts a smile n my face every time I hear it
About the issue with pssy print's sample, like doesn't that happen all the time (aka scumbags get money from their own music that gets sampled)? Literally just pirate the sht and move on if it irks you idk For the "spreading" thing there's morality and there's wanting to stop a waterfall with a cup, you simply can't by yourself and most other people don't care enough to help so don't put the worlds weight on your shoulders for no reason If i were the artist who "spread" the sample I'd simply not give him money idk but that's for him to decide what to do with his fame, as we saw on your video there's people who care enough to give heads ups about sht like this if they want to so yeah idk if im making sense
Did he diss him aside from the “only left-wing rapper that doesn’t scare the hoes” line? Because to me, that reads as more of a playful dig than an actual diss but if he’s said other shit and is actually trying to beef with him then he’s an idiot. I really enjoy his music but seeing his Twitter makes him seem insufferable and chronically online
Ghais Guevara is an incredible rapper I'm so glad he's on this video
Jpegmafia said in an intreview he deliberately looks for japenese music and anime ost's because it is just entirely differently structures from western compositions
puttin ghais on this is amazing. he needs the most love
Fr man
He has to one of the most underrated rapper right now
omg yes i cant wait to here his thoughts on ghais
PREAAAAAACH
Stream Job's Not Finished Pack 🗣️
I was in the peggy concert you used for footage. So weird to see myself in one of your videos even if only in a mild way.
My favorite Peggy sample is when he sampled Ridge Racer for BALD
Yup & that gundam sample in beta male strategies is goated
I played Bald on repeat bc of the sample and then went and listened to the OST for Ridge Racer.
Great video! Just a detail: The Vision of Escaflowne actually is from 1996, not 1994. Keep up the great work!
in this video lets go 💪 💪 💪
Ghais is a badass. His production is fucking phenomenal.
I think Ghostemane and Bones also sampled Burzum. Alot of that ambient weird black metal is perfect for sampling but yeah the ethics of it are weird too.
Wait, which tracks? Bc I really like both.
@@Bumbly_Vee I'm not sure but I think Bones' song Corduroy samples Burzum and the song Nails by Ghostemane too.
Never thought I’d hear Aldo reference New Jack in a video
bash bandicoot by zelooperz. thank me later
ah yes, the masterpiece.

The Ghais song hes talking about is "patrisse cullors stole my lunch money"
Just putting this here because it wasn't clear to me 😂
This should be pinned lol. Been searching for a while for it.

Sufjan Stevens being sampled by both The Game and Mac Miller on "You are the blood" and "Donald Trump" respectively?
+ by Kendrick Lamar on Hood Politics
Well at least Kanye's happy about the sample
AJ Suede’s new self produced EP has a lot of really sweet samples on it.
I would also say Billy wood’s sampling Valentine Elizalde on A Mis Enemigos (produced by Marmaduke) is a fantastic, surprising sample.
great day when alfo posts
9:30 id call this postirony
but im a white girl

jpeg has the best sampling better than any of these other guys

Gucci Mane x Burzum is definitely top 10 anime plot twist

ghais guevara interaction boost
Uh oh a lotta of people gonna be self conscious when they first hear Ghais’ music. And you gonna get these Final Fantasy and Tekken bars too.
Dayton Family used Inspector Gadet theme for the song Billy Blunt

how you gonna mention a STH song and not mention Garbage Pale Kids? shit samples a japanese ramen advert
Ghais is so good Im so happy he got mentioned here 😭
Whenever I'm around by stack bundles samples willy wonka... check that out for your next weird sample video
Tbh Gucci did kill someone too (tho clear self defense). I mean Gucci is of the Southern underworld. Not surprising they both unite over a certain vibration. Gucci probably even knows a few racists who love his music.
EscaFLOWNe? WHAT? It’s pronounced EscaflowNEY, come ON.
Another good song that samples anime is Duru Tha King - New Charlotte which samples the into theme for Elfen Lied
Please do more Why Isn't Anyone Listening To episodes, I feel they're some of your best work and helped me find so many great artists like Choker and Dijon.
banger video, Mr Alfo media 😊
You just made me an instant fan of ghais guevara lol
Ghais Guevara is so criminally underrated it's not even funny
the next one should definitely include lil b sampling midwest pen pals - movies like juno to his song cowboy riding horses in illinois.
Y'all criminal for mentioning Ghais and not mentioning the sample on Kidnap Mark Cuban
I don't know how I never made the Lupe/MM connection. 🤦🏿♂️
this video is all over the place. Why mention half of the songs if you aren't going to atleast play the sample and then the sample in the track?
I still can’t figure out what the name of the Ghais Guevara song is.

Gucci mane smoked someone. I think looking at ethics of art is stupid to begin with
How you goin tell us to go watch these videos and not link them in the description……smh 🤨
Definitely just added Ghais Guevara to my playlist, sounds like an artist I'd absolutely love
Too verbose & not to the point…I’m not wasting my life on this
One of my favorite parts of the show must go on is that lupe has performed it with Umphreys McGee a few times which is another bizarre combination
I wish that the song (from Ghais) you want us to listen is actually listed somewhere or shown the title of the song in the actual video but otherwise nice work on the vid
it's 'Patrisse Cullors Stole My Lunch Money' on There Will Be No Super Slave

2 more: Guv'nor by MF Doom samples a regular show episode and Use this Gospel by Kanye samples Costume Party by Two Door Cinema Club
havent finished the video but i bet its gonna be great

3:04 don't forget Lupe's Kick Push sampling Celeste Legaspi's Bolero Mdley
Never stop shaming Atlantic for buying the rights to the sample just so Lupe owed them more money.
