- I found this overgrown sidewalk and decided to bring my equipment to clean it up. The grass was super tall and the edges were as well. The street curb was hardly visible due to how much overgrowth there was. As I was about to finish cleaning up the sidewalk, a lady walking her dog thanked me for cleaning it and told me that she walks her dog through there everyday and nobody has cared enough to clean it up. I'm glad we were able to help out the neighborhood by providing them a safe place to walk, without having to use the dangerous street.

Life Update: Pardon me in advance if things seem off about this video as I have been dealing with nothing but technical difficulties these past couple weeks. I just upgraded my computer and editing software, along with a new phone for recording my videos. Working out the bugs, and learning how to use Davinci Resolve. I never understood why the city /county didn't take care of the sidewalks. If that was someone's home they would be serving them for having tall grass. God Bless you! I heard you sneeze while I was writing this!!
I work for a City. Our crew has enough to do with all our parks, airport, and cemetery. There isn’t enough manpower or hours in the day.

@@stacey8096 Im reading this discussion and I know for a fact of what you speak of. The city I live in here in Michigan is in the same boat. However, if there is not enough man power, why waste time and money giving out citations. Do they think its going to change over night? Most the time, its going to take a long while to reverse whats been done. A lot of times it might be single person with mental issues, handicapp(s), or elderly.
Some politician put the money in their personal account. I don't want to hear there isn't enough money, especially when you look at where they spend it.

If you live around this area it has to be a relief to know that you beautified this area for them. One overgrown lot can throw off a whole street, especially corner lots. Well done!

It is the property owner's responsibility to maintain the area around the sidewalk, including the parking strip along the street. Since the business has fenced it off, it is out of sight and out of mind. So the city feels it is not their responsibility to maintain it as well, no one is taking care of it. So kudos to you for stepping up to the plate and getting it cleaned up for those who need to use the sidewalk and for those who have to live near it.

I believe it’s the city responsibility to take care of the sidewalks. You should take a picture of the before and after and send it to them. You did a great job, you are making it safe for anyone that uses it from the snakes and bugs

Those kids that rode by on their bicycles, when I was their age and we would see someone cutting their lawn with a different type of mower, we would all stop to check it out and not just ride by. LOL (I know I am old), Looks fabulous. Thank you for helping that community out. I wanted to be their holding sign to say SLOW DOWN!!

Great job Fill! If the lot is operating now, maybe the owner or president will see how good the property looks when it’s mowed, trimed and edged, compared to the easiest and less costly to just mow the grass a few times during the summer. It looks so much better the way you did it.

people and businesses seem to think rock is the answer to keeping things from growing. Not so as we see here. Infact it is harder to pull weeds and grass from rock. Even if a good layer of fabric or plastic is put under the rock, stuff gets in. Another great job Fill!

Not crazy about the red rock ground cover. Doesn’t even keep out the weeds. Can’t mow it, edge it, blow it. Very busy thoroughfare. You do a great service for many just passing by!❤😊😊

The best word to describe the outcome of your hard work to improve. the area and making it safe is AWESOME! It's unbelievable how owners of the property let it get that. BAD! Here in the Adirondack Mountains here many of the,small towns, like mine,the supervisor and board members sit behind a desk, ignoring what is happening to our communities. And we are not permitted to do anything like clean up yards is abandoned properties or any lawn care on sidewalks. Wonderful before and after. Thank you so much for pulling those tall weeds. It decreases the amount that come back. I wish the other guys would get off their machines once in a while and pull the big ones instead of mowing over and over and over to knock them down only for them to pop right back up a flourish.
