Not a step, dad, he is her dad.And has done right by her and she has done right by him.God bless the both of you and your family.Keep it up you're doing it right
Nothing can match the love a dad has for his kids. He knows no bounds. He will make sacrifices for his kids. His greatest reward is to see the happiness his kids faces.
your a awsome stepdad u did the right thing making her birthday special and i met my stepdad when i was 5 he is still married to my mom he mad my life the best i could have asked for treated me like his own he is 80 now and we just celabrated his 80th may be his last one so i say to the young lady take all the time you can make many memories together they r all u will have later in life thank u for all the stepdads do
My first was six weeks old when I met her and she was a huge reason that I asked my wife to marry me. Now 24 years later we have four daughters and that baby I met when she was six weeks old is a college graduate and a teacher. Her footprint was the first one I got tattooed on my arm. There’s no step in my daughter!
My son was 2 and my daughter was 8 months old when I met them, when my son was 18 he reached out to his father and wanted to get to know him, he was supposed to go and spend a week with him over Christmas break from school, I knew it was a BAD idea but never said anything because the boy is smart and knows what's what, it lasted less than 3 days and he was back home and never contacted him again, When my daughter got married she didn't even invite him but invited her ex mom who reached out to her after they got divorced so my son and daughter could get to know their little sister, and they all 3 have a great relationship, she refers to him as her sperm donor.
wow .......what a guy and daughter.......this made my day....I hope you both enjoy working on the truck, but the best will be the driving and the adventures with the truck after. Enjoy
That was a lovely story of a dad and daughter growing up teaching and spending time together tinkering on cars . It brought back memories for me and tears in my eyes of happiness with me and my daughter. It is all about the time together it costs nothing but builds love and strength and character.
That's what I call a REAL family right there. I think the lucky one in the family might be the mom, gets to have an awesome husband and daughter. Perfect combination.
I am 70 . My girlfriend was four years younger than me. She had adopted two brothers three years apart from birth. We had almost seven years when she past of covid. The boys were 6 and 9 when we met. 13 and 16 . When she left us . They are now almost 17 and 20 . Best years of my life..
❤❤❤❤❤little sister! It sounds like our backgrounds are pretty close to the same. I just got my 1st brand new truck on my 69th birthday. I never got to rebuild a 55 Chevy truck live I’ve always dreamed. Happiest of birthdays ❤❤❤❤ (and please wear eye protection when you’re under the truck. I got fluid splashed in my eyes once. No fun at all)❤❤❤
Good job “bonus” dad! ) (That’s what my step kids jokingly call me…). Your gift took her breath away! Clearly you don’t just love her but you know and love her heart as well.
Dadgum that's a hot truck. I graduated high school in 1984 and I still have the same love for a jacked up Chevy square body. Seeing one makes little firecrackers go off in my stomach. Hope you install a roll bar with lots of candles on it. Well done Daddy! ❤❤ PS: please do a father/daughter rebuild series so I can watch??
It’s not just about the truck it’s something to do together respect and being there for each other showing that yes you can love a child that is not biological yours being a father is the greatest gift
I love this. And she's got good taste.. those old square body Chevy pickups represents Chevrolet's heyday. Oh, and Happily, thank you for sharing your beautiful face with us, I've always wondered what kind of face produced that wholesome voice!
You are a very special kind of man, and I love you for that.. what an incredible gift of family you gave this young woman and her mother.. to the young precious woman who has a wonderful dad, congratulations..oh and the truck ain't bad either 😊..
I have a stepdaughter in my life. I’ve been in her life from when she was 10 years old. She 34 and married with a beautiful little girl of 2 1/2 years old. It’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. My daughter probably gets treated better than if she was my own blood. I’m the luckiest person on this earth. I thank God every day. For what he gave me. 👍👍👍
I too have a step-daughter in my life, I adopted her at her request a couple years ago, forty years after meeting her. It's a real blessing! I feel exactly as you do.
She might not have his blood line But she his daughter because she more him She's learnt all her moral and emotional values from him and mum If they hadn't told her she would've never known But they're great parents and told her the truth at some stage of her life
I got a 1968 Chevelle when I was 14. It didn't run and the transmission was bad and it didn't have a rear axle. I spent the next two years working on it so I could take my girl friend to prom.
Reminds me of a young woman in our local Toastmasters Club. She had her own pickup truck. She was married but the truck was HER truck. Yes, girls & women can sometimes like trucks/cars as much as boys & men like cars/trucks.
My grandpa taught me how to drive in his square body Chevy that he bought new in the 80’s. He even took me on runs to the hardware store, and fishing trips in it. When he passed, I became the owner and still have it. I admit, their dollar value is overrated, but each one comes with a story like mine, and a story like the folks in the video … and all these trucks have names.
Great story, love the relationship they have with one another. Having said that, all the way from Louisiana to Mississippi? They’re right next to each other.
Now a days, the younger generation, can't even change or fix a flat tire. That was the first thing I learned went I was old enough to drive the family car. From the video, she's been doing that since she was three years old. I'm happy for her.
Obviously something was right about them since they were made from 1973 to 1987 with one major face lift in the front clip. I've had several and wouldn't mind having one again.
It takes more than blood to be a Dad. Love is thicker than blood .
Love is thicker than blood . Makes me happy
Amen
Well said!
No it's not. I have tried. After 16 years of taking care of her like my own daughter, they grow up and don't care about you. Blood is always blood.
No she is like his daughter,, never his daughter
When a teenage girl likes old trucks and dads, God's world is in good hands.
They're very rare in this world of ours.
hear that she want a old school car/truck to fix up with her step dad she a good kid.. cuz brat kids want nicer car that it
Amen.
God bless this young lady for loving old trucks 😊
Steve Harvey once said, Any man can be a father, takes a special man to be a dad.
This definitely refers to this Dad.
I met my stepdaughter over forty years ago, today, we're still best friends. We've bonded like no other.
I stepped up to the plate and earned the title of dad from 2 of 3 step kids..congratulations my man on being a great dad! ❤
Same, adopted 4 (all adults now) 2 stepdaughters (twins, both almost 13) and the our twins (mirror image twins, 10 Almost 11).
@@PiratePrincessYuki Wow congratulations..and keeping twins together 🙏😇
In my case it was 1 out of 3.
Not a step, dad, he is her dad.And has done right by her and she has done right by him.God bless the both of you and your family.Keep it up you're doing it right
🇬🇧 That man has a heart of gold, hope she enjoys her new truck. Way better than a new vehicle.
In short order she will know evrey inch, evrey nut and bolt on that truck!
In this upside down world it’s great to see stories like this.
Oh Amen to that !
Kudos to all the Dads out there doing what dads are born to do, Being Good Dads.
My dad was a well known race car mechanic and police mechanic.
This reminds me of working with my dad as a kid. RIP dad.
That's right dad take care of your little girl.
She didn't see that beat up ole truck. She opened that door and saw the gem it's gonna be when they get done making it hers. Great family moment.
Nothing can match the love a dad has for his kids. He knows no bounds. He will make sacrifices for his kids. His greatest reward is to see the happiness his kids faces.

I can relate to having an awesome step dad who taught me how to change my own oil and all that. So heartwarming to see. ❤
@@Willa.Johnson but do you change your own oil?
As a step-dad myself I never introduce my daughter as my "step" daughter . She is my kid , I couldn't love her more if she were my own .
That's a good man right there. A real Dad.
Wish I had had a dad like him...❤️
Love your own father. Stop living vicariously through the internet.
Dad of the year, hands down. My hats off to you sir. You have a special bond with that young lady.

Awwwwww, now that’s a dad.
They are blessed to have each other. The truck embodies the commitment, love and respect they have for each other.
Great great family that is a daddy's girl! Love it love it! Seems like a sweet innocent great kid.
What a great birthday gift for her.
Dad, you did a bang-up job. I hope you and your daughter build a badass truck so she can enjoy what she loves.

I'm not crying. Yeah, I am. Heart strings pulled most egregiously. Love this family dynamic!
Wonderful story!! This man just gets it!!! Need more people like him!!

One of the best positives I have seen in a long time. Enjoy your gift ride vehicle and remember that driving is a privilege. Be safe and sound!! 😊

You earned major dad points that day. Well done, sir.
What an amazing family, parenting done right! Well done that man for stepping up and being the dad that so many others should aspire to be
He's a real dad and he is teaching her what a good man is. As a girl dad, I finally figured out that was a big part of my job.
