I wish I knew where my 1978 Chevy El Camino is. That was my first car. Found it completely rebuilt with a 350 L48 (Camaro engine) at a junk yard. All the chrome trim for the car was in boxes in the bed and it was just primed and needed a paint job. Ran like a dream. Paid $800 for it, and $300 for a brand new Metallic Blue paint job, then put all the chrome back on over the weekend. Next week got my license. I wish I'd never sold it. So many memories in that car, I'd probably cry if I saw it again. I wouldn't even care if it was still running. I'd rebuild and restore it again.
This fine young man is a testament to the fine young man his father was who grew into a great dad himself and raised his kids the way he was raised. This is middle America at it's finest. These guys may not have a lot of money but are the richest American's there are. This vid was awesome and made this ole Marine cry! Thanks guys!
I love 60s as well. I had a 1968 Mercury M-100 with a 300 c.i.d inline 6 cyl. 270 Lbs ft. of torque. But she was a working girl. 3 on the tree. I was going to make her a 4 on the floor. I had big plans to get 400 Lbs ft. out of her. What a good truck.
@@Twitch_Moderatorif you want a reliable roughly 400 torque get a used tundra like I did. I just got a 2014 SR5 5.7 crewmax with 130k miles on it last year and it runs like a fuckin champ so far
Man there are some designs that are just timeless. 70s porsche 911, green triumph TR6, and a lifted american truck. Super cool seeing your dad grin spinning that thing thru the snow. Well done all around.
The fact that the first thing he did in it was Play around and grinning from ear to ear says it all! Crazy how something like a vehicle can bring us back to a different part in our life and bring out so many feelings!
So sorry about your aunt and little sister and thank you for sharing the old videos and pictures. That truck definitely was a family member. Love what you did for your father and seeing how much fun he was having driving that truck again , plus having the next generation in the passenger seat. That memory is probably going to stick with him, like yours did with that truck. Your father must be so proud of you and your brother
awesome video man. I love how at 10:34 your father doesn't even struggle to get in, even given his older age. Muscle memory is awesome. You can tell just from the way he got in, how many times he's driven that beast. Truly awesome video
My grandfather is 82 and he can easily get into a monster truck he has been a farmer all his life and he is in great shape in fact he puts a lot of young people to shame with the things he can still do
I miss my old man, but seeing the joy you’re father experienced makes me feel wholesome. Nicely done. My dad would have loved this. He was a huge car guy.
Such a great tribute to your amazing dad. I’m sorry for the loss of your sister. You’re a great family and your dad seems amazing and truly deserving of such a great gift. May God bless you and your family 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️
You can tell he knows every inch of the truck when his eyes are immediately looking in the wheel wells and underneath. Great family and nice job. RIP to your sister.
...The look on your dad's face...worth every minute you put in to resurrect...a beautiful family, my kind of folks. Must have been tough when you sister passed so young...my condolences...God-bless to you and family, may all your days be bright and full of life...peace 💖
Truly great story! Thanks for taking the time to compile all the older footage to go along with it. Loved seeing actual footage of the truck’s history with your family.
Now this is what America is about family and great memories..love,friendship and family. You talking about your family gives me hope that not all is lost in this great country of ours!
Badass truck.. even more beautiful story behind it.. Materials are invaluable without the people and stories behind them.. very touching.. Great story!
I never cry and I got tears for him getting his truck back. He has many happy memories with family members now departed. They will all come flooding back everytime he throttles up. And, that young Grandson will never forget the first ride in that revived Monster Truck either. You can see it in his eyes at the end. My buddy had a 1977 F-250 with a 17" life kit, built 460/C6 auto 4x4, and 44" Dick Cepek Monster Mudders and the same Western Wheels. That truck would climb anything. You brought those memories back for me too. THANKS for posting this.
Super cool that your Father passed down his love of wheeling and wrenching to you and you were able to restore a piece of family history that you can hopefully pass down to your son…Very well done 🎉
Great work man. The story behind it is what makes the video. When your father passes, you'll still feel his presence every time you step into that classic and start it up. Great, down home, humble video without all the extra hype of overboard video editing. Some of us tend to find our own alone time to break down and let it all come out. I'm certain your dad does the same. I miss my "old fart" grandpas. Your little story takes me back to those days. Thank you for the share.
