Div, this was a real good one. Your crossmember fab was top notch. The "instant" gussets was genius. I like the idea of the suspension too. It's unique for sure.
Once again the SA Master has shown us the skills come from the man holding the tools it is a privilege to watch you work we are lucky you allow us from Tony in Australia
Wow Div, that's a crazy cool idea. Never seen that before. This is the type of cool innovation that I enjoy... This is the part of the build I was waiting for. Thank you for sharing. Keep them coming.
You are a real inspiration. What you do is art. You work with the true spirit of making do with what you have, but still make it cool. Thanks for what you do.
Div I'm so proud to call you my neighbor although I'm in Hermanus and the rain Coming down on your roof is the same storm in Hermanus. You are a real wizard when it comes down to fabricating. Lekka boet on the air bag set up. Take care and waiting for the next video.
It's coming along nicely Div. Can't wait to see more videos soon sir. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Hello from the shawdows of the great Rockymountains Clinton Utah USA ! Another fanastic video my brother! If your ever in Utah you have place to stay at my fireside!
Maybe next time use a short travel air operated hydraulic ram using the factory torsions? That way your not running a spring (torsions) on a spring (bags). Cool overall idea though. Love the content.
Interesting setup. I think you might run into getting your suspension very soft, as you now in effect have two springs after oneother. But then it might work just perfectly. Looking forward to see how it comes out. Good work as always Div 👍
I cant help but think the same. Especially on such a short counter-lever. Very much hope it works out well. If not perhaps minor changes to a longer counter-lever than original or do the same thing with hydraulic rather than air, to take out the air sponginess. But hey, I have not built a rat rod and have no authority to make any comment at all !!! Hail Div 🙂
Well diff watching you and l don't know what you all did for a living but Holly crap all the tools you have what I can see you have everything to anything to what you want to build at your shop l really enjoy watching you and what you think of once building something it's great
Cool idea with the air rid, not only get air bag suspension but torsion bar suspension, truck's looking great, I was told the other day by a ex--panel beater that they can no longer weld in seal panels 😂😂 classed as Structural damage 😂😢 thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, have a Lekka one
Great work! I wish I had skills like yours, my friend. Those baboons were stealing your ideas to build their own rat rod or maybe plotting to steal yours.
Holy cow man. At 21:20 you’ve got what looks like a spray can of F$*k on your bench. Where can I get that?!! I’ve got a few people I might like to spray THAT on! You have got to be the BEST fabricator channel on RUclips right now. This is not really “bush” engineering. It is just damn good engineering for ANY place, bush or not. And your ability to explain it clearly and demonstrate things for us is really unparalleled. I am riveted to you every episode. Thanks as always for the great hang out. 😊
5:30 Well put. Can't explain it any simpler. You're a good engineer and fabricator. Wish I could meet you in person. 36:17 Is it possible to have one air bag push on both levers ?
You have got some skills there brother. That’s going to be one cool setup. You got me hooked good on this build. I want to see what you come up with next. 👍🏻👍🏻!!!!
I think I would source two lengths of new spring steel of the correct length and replace the torsion bars rather than joining them. You have a friendly machinist who could cut the new splines on the ends, I think this would be the safest way to proceed.
Greetings Div, nice work on the crossmember. Cool idea with the torsion bars and relocation of the airbags. As always take care and have a Lekka day. 👍👍👍
Hey, nice shirt! I see someone stole the arms of yours too hahaha cross-member looks great. Sure your helper wasn't your twin brother... great video as always... gave me some food for thought. Really going to be interesting to see how you setup those bags without crowding the cab space. You're a helluva fabricator Bro... thank again for a great way to start my Sunday 😎😎
Great idea but by using a torsion bar and an airbag will there not be too much travel of the wish bone. Maybe not a torsion bar but something that won't twist. Can't wait to see how it comes together.👍👍
Yes interesting. When you said you bagging it I would have never thought of this man. lol very cool work. And I love Andrea your ToolDude, wanted to go the extra mile and create a brass insert too. lol you had his creative juices flowing as well. 👍🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻✌🏻
Div!!! As always I enjoyed the video! This is gonna be awesome setup!! I love how you worked through the process and even got some custom machined parts!! Congrats on the sponsor also Div!!
@@ratrodsafrica I enjoyed the attention to detail. The slant cuts instead of just leaving it blocky 90s at the end of your cross member and reinforcing the clearance cut outs for the torsion bars with the half cuts of pipe!!! Nice touch 😃
That's a pretty good idea to lowering the front end but will you get the air bag ride as well. ? I guess time will tell or another idea cool fab work for the trans mount. Take care. Div.
Een mooi detail zou zijn, dat je de moeren vast last aan de beugels, dat is heel makkelijk bij latere demontage van je subframe. Maar wat een goed idee voor de voor-ophanging.
Mr. Funk is a good video on the torsion bar air ride but I think he's got a early rod with an open front end so he has more room to work with his setup, you've done a fine bit of engineering your rear bag Design and that crossmember is a top notch job, can't wait to see more on this project I'm excited to see it in operation, beautiful work as always Div, this one is 5 stars
OK, it's Mr, Funk's 32 scud-hud front end, but it's not torsion bar, but the bag setup is pretty wild, maybe I just pictured it working with a torsion bar
Div what about using another set of torsion bars butted to the existing ones and the old spline brackets as a coupler. That would give you the length and the hexagonal end at the rear. Do those baboons cause a lot of havoc?
This was awesome Div! I like this concept very much ! Your fab skills were awesome as usual. I enjoyed seeing the machine work. I do that every day for tooling in manufacturing. Would rather be doing it for a rat rod.................maybe when I retire. Don't let those baboons sneak up on you Bro.
👍👌👏 Very well done again. Uhm... at least I guess so. To me it looks a bit like somebody who already has a lot of work, creates even more work for himself.
