I think there wouldn't be enough guimaras mangoes to supply the world, it could hardly supply our people, so just let the world think these mango types are the best, i've tasted them when i was in the U.S. and surely they're just similar to our local indian mangoes, a bit sweeter though and kind of like medicinal tasting, but definitely can't compare to the uniqueness in guimaras variety. it's better to experience it from the very source, so let the world come to experience which one is the real KING of mangoes
for real Mango flavor, nothing can compare with a Philippine Damulag or Carabao., but only if grown in the P.I. or the Egyp nile delta. I tried for 20 yrs to grow them in So. Florida to no avail. they fall from the tree before they mature, nobody can explain it, not even Dr. Campbell..

@@maxsavage3998 we call it carabao mango. Especially the sweet elena carabao mango. When it turns yellow. You can smell the top stem part of the mango if the fruit is ripe already. (It has a sweet aromatic smell) Thats how we determine if the mango is sweet or still bit sour.

It seems you have not heard of ' Kohitoor' mangoes of India .It is considered as the king of all mangoes. Extremely rare , each mango costs $50 or more. Each tree produces around 10 mangoes every alternate year there are about 30 trees in the world.The trees are about 150 years old .

Also some varieties taste better grown in some regions. for example, even though Valencia Pride, is a Florida mango, it may taste better grown in the Caribbean, but Alphonso, taste better when grown in its place of origin. Here in the tropics, we have a region with very similar soils and climate than India and Pakistan. we have about 30 varieties being tested in 5 regions of the island, with different soils and weather. Sindhri, and Jumbo Kesar, are included in the test program, also other varieties such as Nam Doc Mai. the best commercial varieties from all over the world. It should be noted, that NOTHING beats a good tree ripened mango, the problem with mangoes from other countries, entering the USA, is they usually require hot water treatment, and take many days to arrive, so are either refrigerated, or picked very green, to be able to make it to market. But I do recommend people try new varieties, some ethnic, middle eastern markets in the USA and Canada do import these varieties, and it is a real treat to try something new and exotic. mangoes vary greatly in taste and texture, depending on variety.

for 20 yrs I scouted all well known mango farms from Homestead to Palm beach Co. nobody can grow a genuine tasting Asian mango.,, in fact I realized Americans seems to think mangoes here are what they really taste, therefore they have different favorites. Wait...have you tried out Mankhurad ? It's an Indian Mango that is generally only found in Goa and not outside it. Everyone in Goa personally prefer it as compared to the Alphonso. Those Alphonsos are available even here but not everywhere around since this state also has it's different Alphonso mangoes which isn't that good like the normal Alphonso. But everyone else in Goa personally prefer the Mankhurads as compared to the Alphonsos since it's has a sweet aroma, a well balanced pulp, juiciness and else more. The Alphonsos are generally juicer though but this pulp of the mango is awesome. But yeah these mangoes are only found in Goa.
Lots of verities are lost in india. I remember some of them but never seen again. One of them is Kariamma (local name ) . A black brown coloured and was very big in size.

Wait...have you tried out Mankhurad ? It's an Indian Mango that is generally only found in Goa and not outside it. Everyone in Goa personally prefer it as compared to the Alphonso. Those Alphonsos are available even here but not everywhere around since this state also has it's different Alphonso mangoes which isn't that good like the normal Alphonso. But everyone else in Goa personally prefer the Mankhurads as compared to the Alphonsos since it's has a sweet aroma, a well balanced pulp, juiciness and else more. The Alphonsos are generally juicer though but this pulp of the mango is awesome. But yeah these mangoes are only found in Goa.

Lots of verities are lost in india. I remember some of them but never seen again. One of them is Kariamma (local name ) . A black brown coloured and was very big in size.
