Weird Explorer do you know Jesus Christ?
That painting with the firewood and ladder made me giggle in an evil way
I wish there was a box that can be shipped with all of these, I want to try!
Eva Garcia fruits n roots or Miami fruit
South Punjab in Pakistan has the best mangoes in the world
Taste our heavenly Chaunsa and Anwar ratol
Sweetest fragrant and pulpy 🥭🙂
Yessssss
I think there are some sites that does a exotic fruits box.
@@Richtruth_ do you have any cheaper options. Those fruit, vegetables, etc is quite expensive 😅
Meanwhile I'm just sitting here watching this while eating some tiny clementines, it's the equivalent of watching Gordon Ramsay while eating Mcdonalds.
Lmaoo thanks for the good laugh.
I live in northern Arkansas, and Pawpaws are common here. The entire fruit is edible, except the seeds. If thoroughly ripe there is no need peeling it, because the ripe peeling is very delicate and tender. In all the world the Pawpaw is my favourite fruit. It tastes like sweet creamy custard.
My top 10
1: mango
2:mango
3:mango
4: mango
5:mango
6:mango
7:mango
8:mango
9:mango
10:mango
I've been eating since I was 2
It seems unhealthy to starve yourself for two years.
Davis 😂
when i eat mango it just disables my taste buds and i cant feel anything on the top layer of my tongue. ive heard they are sweet but ill probably never really get to taste one. (mango candy does not disable my taste buds but its probably way different from real mango)
I don't like it.
mylo artificial mango taste pretty close to mango unlike other artificial flavors
Every time you like something that is new to me, I look up the plant to see if it's something I can grow here, even if I have to keep in the greenhouse. Thanks! Also glad to see paws paws on the list!
So nice to hear that!
feralkevin I
Velvet apple is called "buah mentega" in Indonesia, literally means butter fruit because it tastes creamy and smells a bit like butter I guess. I've had those without the fuzz. Apparently there's a variant of velvet apple without fuzz.
Awesome list! My top 10 fruits would be
1. Cherimoya
2. White Sapote
3. Rollinia
4. Starfruit
5. Honey Mango
6. Purple Passion Fruit
7. Mamey Sapote
8. Pineapple Guava
9. Yellow Alpine Strawberry
10. French Breakfast Melon
Good selection there
Metal Jeremy awesome list!!
You have to taste Dagla dates (from Algeria north of africa) it' amazing like honey.
your list isn't correct
Of those I’ve only had honey mangoes but they’re soooo good!
I really enjoy all of these videos SO MUCH! Thank you Weird Explorer for doing what you do and taking us with you all over the world and sharing all these wonderful fruits!
Great list! So glad to see paw paws at #3. It's a shame that most people living in the U.S. don't even know that they exist.
it's native in NC where i grew up. very nice
Yeah, they are native to where I live in PA as well. Most people I talk to have never heard of them. I heard they have a nice paw paw festival in NC. I went to the one in Ohio last year and am going again this year.
ImaEatIt
I know they exist and I've been wanting to try them for five years
yep.. sorry to say i’ve never heard of this before watching these vids
I see pawpaw trees in the NC mountains while hiking.
Looking forward to the next top 10! You keep chugging along!
I love the simple blackberry. I also adore the paw paw!
Great video and love the Cenobite reference!
I haven't had the luxury of trying all these amazing fruits but one of my all time favourites will always be pomegranate!
joseph kilkenny
Yum! Me too! I love them so much
NO POMEGRANATES
Go to Hispanic market they have those for like mega cheap
@@alessiogreco9312 NO NO NO POMEGRANATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't say I've tried a lot of exotic fruits. but by far my favorite fruit ever is Starfruit. It's like someone took the best part and an apple and a cucumber and put them together in a weird shape. Best things ever.
Love those too
Learning so much watching your stuff. Thank you =)
So glad you hit 13k you definitely deserve more subs, always love seeing your videos, keep the videos coming!
Thanks Joseph! 14k is coming up quick. Its so great watching the channel grow.
Weird Explorer damn right, happy for you☺️☺️☺️
I've always wanted to travel the world eating all sorts of amazing foods. I really respect and admire your dedication to eating all this amazing food... hopefully one day I can buy you an expensive fruit as thanks for all these amazing videos.
aww memories love when you were standing next to the Paw Paw man
I felt like we bonded that day...
Holy cow, I was SO hoping you'd list Velvet Apple but thought that was a wild far fetched dream... So glad you have it on there! I haven't tried any yet, but I have a tree growing and put a pre-order for the fruit from Miami Fruit. Can't wait to try it.
Ah nice! Yeah it'll be worth the wait :)
Haha, never mind I just asked in the last video if you were going to do an updated version of this, and here it is. Would help if I paid attention.
You asked for our Top Tens!
TOP TEN:
1: Prickly Pear (I'm glad you got a better one!)
2: Cherries (especially Rainier Cherries)
3: Granadilla (tart and sweet and I like crunching the seeds)
4: Mangosteen (got it on your recommendation and they were so tasty!)
5: Lemon (lemon flavored treats or unsweetened lemonade, I even eat it fresh)
6: Lychee (super tasty but very hard to find good ones here in Canada)
7: Pomelo (sadly a compound in it means I cant eat it or grapefruit or lime)
8: Grapes (particularly black grapes and Concord grapes for the intense flavour)
9: *Good* apples (Jazz is my favourite variety, excellent sliced with peanut butter)
10: Pears (particularly Bosc pears or 'Asian pears', for that crispiness)
My partner likes durian but the rest of the fam doesn't, and I'm curious to try one since eating the whole thing on your own sounds... intimidating :P I don't guarantee I'll like it but I'm open to it and think I *might*. Also going to reserve and cook the seeds as per your suggestion!
Keep up the good work, loving the binge of this channel!
yes, I've been waiting
The way u hold the fruits looks like u r going dance 😆
What an awesome job you have!
Your comment about Durian opening up a portal to hell and releasing Cenobites made me laugh way too hard at 1 am 😆
That's an awesome list! I definitely wish more of these grew in the U.S. though.
any other honorable mentions that come to mind, jared? (really enjoy your videos!)
Hi. Your videos are awesome, and inspiring. That said...
I would love to know if you'd mind sharing where you acquired the painting in the background
He is describing flavors I don't think the masses would like.
You really deliver an excellent review of the fruit of our world. Thank you very much. Idea!!! Maybe take us on some of your foraging adventures when your able too. Be nice to see where and how these fruits are aquired. I know you buy most but on occasion I know you pick your own. Thanks
I tried an achcacha in a Mexico City market in June , so if you live there or can travel to Mexico City, you should definitely look out for it!
wil brown he has already had achacha its was his fav fruit in 2015
I love the way you describe these fruits
You should try "Salak Gula Pasir" translated into "Sandy Sugar Salak". Native to Bali, Indonesia.. It is very sweet with crispy texture.. Really yummy..
Am I crazy that I don't want my fruit to taste like eggs even remotely? lol
It was weird for me the first time I had something with that taste.. its maybe better to think of it as a "custard" taste.
Great. I could possibly do custard but eggs no. I thumbs up fruits usually that have a good mix of sweet and sour like a really great plum.
Weird Explorer there's even canned egg fruit and canned hot dogs it looked disgusting
@Sequoiah Dreams Custard has an eggy taste because its made with eggs lol.
Custard also tastes like milk and sugar and vanilla- etc.
Having a fruit taste like raw eggs would be a little gross to me lol
@@whereswaldo1630 mini hot dogs? those are good but yeah they look pretty odd.
Salacca tastes greatt!!😂when i was a child, whenever my grandma came back from her hometown I’d get an unlimited supply of this and it was heaven
This is a great video!
thanks!
That velvet apple was my favourite, when I was young me and my friends always go into the big tree waiting for them to fall so we can eat them. Nice reviews as ever now I miss my hometown
the name of the banana is Pisang (banana) Badad. Keling is used by people who know no better and it IS a derogatory word to the Tamils.
Thanks for clearing that up!
I made the mistake back in the 80s of asking an older Cuban woman if they had papaya. She gave me the stinkeye and walked away. A younger lady smiled and clued me in, papaya is slang for ladyparts to some of the Cubans, they call it fruita bomba. In Central and South America they just call it papaya.
Loved the Hellraiser reference
Buddy your videos put a smile on my face. These top fruits are all so different than what us poor Americans are used to ... and when afar we seem to gravitate toward the familiar. If I get a chance to go to these areas you visit, I think you should make a kind of Fruit Tourist Guidebook. Even as an app, this would be an amazing addition to your awesomeness. Thank you a lot.
My brain cannot process the description of the Dabai... It sounds so unlike any fruit I've ever had.
Here’s my top10 best fruits ever taste:
1- Soursop (Annona Muricata)
2- Spondias Purpurea / Mombin (Jocote)
3- Mamey Apple (Mammea Americana)
4- Green/Hard Yellow Flesh Mango
5- Black Chelan Cherry
6- Purple Star Fruit (Caimito)
7- Halford Cling Peach
8- Jaboticaba
9- Coconut
10- Purple Tamarillo
This video had my mouth watering! I want to try all these fruits (except durian which I have).
My personal top 10 would be:
1. Rollinia
2. Purple Mangosteen
3. Soursop
4. Lemon Zest Mango
5. Olosapo
6. Acerola
7. Mamey Sapote
8. Grumichama
9. White Sapote
10. Pomelo
Congrats on 200! Maybe you should try finding different types of jackfruit.
good idea
9:38 I got excited when you said that, but apparently the achacha has never been stocked by sellers in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, or Tasmania, the latter of which I live in. I guess I'll look for them next time I stay in Sydney or Melbourne.
You could maybe get them shipped too!
I like fruits and have jaboticaba, chery of Rio Grande, malay apple, Rollinia, custard apple, canistel, starfruit and others in my backyard. Recently pitangatuba and achachá was added because of your videos!
Thanks for your videos!
So glad to hear it. Thats quite the collection
Francisco Traverzo Where do you live?
You are such an inspiration and are so cool! you have dedicated your life to exploring fruits and making my life happy, I'm now growing Paw Paw and a Feijoa plant and ready to get more exotic fruits, I thank you so much for entertaining me through each and every video. #WeirdExplorer4Life
Thanks Matthew!
Hey WeirdExplorer: It would be awesome, if you always give a little info on where to find these.
I wrote my own small list of want to tries and added yours, but sometimes it's quite hard to find out where one could actually get their hands on.
You could also include it in the description, if you don't want to spend time on the video for that. ;)
Thanks
Love u thank yah 💓
Great Videos!👍 Subbed! Saving and sharing your Videos! 💛 Thankyou so much for the Work you put into them as well! Your Videos are concise and clear eyed. Keep up the great Work! 👍🙂💛 Love to hear about different Fruits of the World, and would love to try them all! My favorite Fruits of all Time are the, Fuji Apple, Sickle Pears, Bosc Pears, Clementines, Red Grapefruit, Carambolas, Wild Blackberries, Maine Blueberries, and most of all, the Asian Pear! Could you make a Video of the different Fruits of Europe? That would be nice. 👍
Thanks Beth! I'll hopefully be getting out to more of Europe in the future!
Weird Explorer Great can't wait! Your Videos are awesome! Keep up the great Work! Prayers and Blessings going up for your Family and you! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙂🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🙂💛💛💛💛💛💛💛🙂
Love the Hellraiser reference. Know any way I can get some jabotica berries? I read that it's good for asthma and I believe in using food as medicine if I can. Thanks for making videos!
Check out miamifruit website. Not cheap but they sound worth it! :)
This is the first time seeing your videos, while looking for information on the Cavendish banana. I like learning about things...but I could never put anything in my mouth that smells bad.
I started sprouting atemoya seeds less than a month ago. They are looking good.
There is a town near me called Paw Paw, WV. I wonder if that is named after the fruit.
I think so! I actually stopped there and also at the nearby paw paw tunnel in the full episode on pawpaws.
u have been doing this 7 years in 2020 and u only 160k come on u deserve more
where can i buy them all or buy the tree in north america?
I know it’s not exciting enough to be on the list, but if you’ve ever left a ripe peach in a car at 105 degrees all afternoon then I daresay you’ve tasted the nectar of the gods. That shit is simultaneously bananas and through the roof
lukak is basically durian of the jungle there is another type where the fruit is red, this are basically the purest type of durian now there are plenty type, my favorite type of durian is the durian kampung one that has a bitter sweet milky and gassy taste, finding this one is the rarest one of all since durian kampung can be vary on taste according to the fruit even if it came from the same tree, finding this one is like winning a lottery.
My favourite
Durian Kura Kura isnt it? yeah that ones a gem. very moist, very sweet
I love lychees and Jackfruit and Dragon fruit; but have never dared to taste Durian because of the horrible smell even in Vacuum-Sealed frozen packing of the Asian Market. But I am so glad to have seen Lukak on your channel and can't wait to try it. Do you save any of your seeds for growing, especially since many of the fruits are not found here in the USA? I also can't wait to taste Rose Apple, I love the Lychee because of it's rose-sweet taste. Please do a video on Cactus fruits. I am searching for a dwarf Medjool Date palm if you've heard of any please let me know.
I’ve been wanting to try a mangosteen for sooo long. Something about it just looks so appealing
Same here! After a couple years of searching I found some at an unassuming grocery store in the middle of nowhere PA and well,..they weren't as amazing as I was expecting. Some were brown inside as I think they often are frozen and shipped from Asia. I may have just got some that were low quality. They definitely had more of a mystique about them before I tried them. :/ I hope your experience is different!!! :)
I'm a new subbie. I really like
welcome
My top-10 fruit list:
1. Longan

Watermelon!!!??!!
My top 10 is
1.cherry
2. Raspberry
3. Strawberry
4. Mango
5. Apple
6.peach
7.blueberries
Lmao
No watermelon?!
Tracking down some Achacha's tomorrow. Any other fruits available for purchase in Australia that you'd recommend? Thanks man.
Monstera deliciosa is another good one available in australia :)
Thank you!
You should make a countdown just for annonas (I just had my first! That sweetsop was kray-kray!)
Nice!
I'm in Australia and I didn't even know Achacha existed! Will try it asap :)
You should try the Mamee Apple. It was one of the many amazing things I found at my second visit to The Fruit And Spice Park.
coming soon ;)
My top ten list would be:
1 Strawberries
2 Strawberries
3 Strawberries
4 Strawberries
5 Strawberries
6 you get the idea
10 literally the most exciting fruit I've eaten was a strawberry
what a sophisticated palate you have...
Eww
strawberries are lame, you havent gone to south america or southeast asia, cherimoya, or banana passion fruit , or mulberry are better
I understand. Simple fruits are often amazing. We love strawberries in France and i'm growing some of which the taste would be very surprising to you. Sometimes you can't tell i'ts a strawberry for sure.
Watermelon
FINALLY!
Earned my sub with putting paw paw on the list. Kinda sad most people who live near where they grow have never even heard of it or tasted it.
We have Achacha here in Costa Rica! Got about 30 trees in my nursery too. We have lots of amazing exotics here in the Diamante Valley. Come down some time!
Can you do an ice cream blue java banana review please ? or have you already ate it ?
I haven't! Hope to try it soon though, very tricky to find
My favourite fruits list (not very exciting haha):
1. Raspberries
2. Durian
3. Soursop
5. Mangosteen
6. Strawberries
7. Coconut
8. Guava
9. Maryann plum
10. Pomelo
I’m smiling because those mangoes cost $10 AUSD for a box of 15 mangoes. That’s $8 USD for 15 mangoes
Australian mangoes are great. im looking forward to trying some when I visit.
Mangos are delicious, but they could never taste or look so good that I’d pay $80
You do not have to pay 80$. You can get a delicious sun or hay-ripened mango for less than 1$ each, and get to pick from more than 200 varieties in India.
Hey, can you write the scientific name of the Pisang Klang? I couldn’t find it online? Maybe there is another name to it?
@weird explorer For the velvet Apple or Kamagong. You can actually eat the seeds when the fruit is still young. They look and taste like jelly.
Now that fruit place should make a crate of these with your promo code...Id'e love to try these
1:39 It synced up, that's great.
I didn't notice that before haha
Did you paint that painting behind you?
Nope thats by Pawel Kuczynski
Dabai...the Willy Wonka Magic chewing gum of the fruit world!
What influenced you to start a fruit review channel?
The first time I went to Malaysia I wanted to create a vlog of the interesting things I was finding in general. I made a few videos on various things but the fruit I was finding was the most interesting to me, so I decided to focus on that.. year later and here we are.
Yay! Pawpaw! And Sala made it again. I think it's Sala season now in Thailand.
I want a mangoosteen 😢😢😢 please tell me where I can buy one from the black market in Minnesota
2:35 Salak tastes even better when you ferment it
So how do berries from temperate areas, like strawberries, marionberries, thimbleberries, tayberries, lingonberries, etc., plus nectarines, cherries, plums, pears, etc., compare with guava, mango, passion fruit, paw paw, sapote, etc.?
Thanks for the video. We have 8 different mango varieties. It is my favorite fruit, and I want to have at least one tree of each variety that exists. We also got 3 different Durian varieties, but not Lukak yet. I am super interested in Dabai and Velvet Apple. :-)
My left ear thanks you.
I love Pitanga! I used to eat every season when coming back from school in Brazil
have you tried may-apple? (it is my favorite american fruit) if you haven't it is fruiting right now try to find some. i have been enjoying them regularly
I haven't! I've seen them growing in Central Park, but haven't found them while they were ripe..
unfortunately, birds and different rodents like to eat them unripe. if a human were to try this they would become ill. on the plus side they will ripen off of the plant. just find one that is large and starting to turn slightly soft. put it on the counter until it is totally yellow and smells like a tropical fruit.

What do they taste like?
Do you know where I can get Pawpaws if I live in California?
Thats a tough one. I recall seeing a website that ships them. thats probably the easiest way.
Just curious. How did you remember what it taste like so long ago? I don't think I can do that. Have you tried Musang King vs Lukak?
I haven't had Musang king. I saw it for sale, but on closer inspection saw it was a fake.
Well.. the videos help me remember :)
Well, you better get to it soon. It's now cost 5 times more then the last time I tried. If no more growers it will sky rocket.
Where did you find the american pawpaw ?
Pawpaws made the list!! My life's complete!
Before I watch this, if Otaheite apple is not on this list then you’re not ready to make this list.
Hey fruit enthusiasts! Anyone have a recommendation on where to pick up any of these in the San Francisco bay area?
Berkeley Bowl! And if you are by San Jose there are a couple great Vietnamese fruit markets in Silver Creek Plaza.
Thanks so much! I'll probably make a special trip out to San Jose to check out the market :D
I have been to the Berkeley bowl before to get cherimoyas, with mixed results. Which reminds me, how the heck do you choose a cherimoya?? The first one I tried was heaven and it is currently my favorite. I went back a few weeks later and picked up all that they had in stock because I loved it so much and they were nothing like the first one.. no matter how much I let them ripen they never got soft and had a crispy-ish texture and not much flavor. :(
Thanks for taking the time to reply!! You have been a huge inspiration and inspired me to try as much fruit as I can get my hands on :)
Thats so nice to hear, glad to throw some fuel on your fruit hunting desires. yeah I forget the name of the shop, but there are two fruit shops in the plaza, one is better than the other. I saw a lot of things there that I had only seen in SE Asia. Let me know what you find :). Oof yeah.. picking a cherimoya is tough.. probably someone else could give better advice on here. I just wait until they're soft and cross my fingers.
Buy food enough for 2 people for a week. (No)
Buy a fucking *MANGO* (Yes)
