Should be interesting for thermals inside that chassis. Considering it won't be getting much air from those fans, I would assume that it would burn up eventually. But then again, I've seen weird shit that shouldn't work, work flawlessly. Interesting video, love it ;)
I would be worried about airflow around the two cooling fans. It looks as though the top of the server will not allow much room for those fans to take in air (or expel it).
Hi Morten, you should order the FAN mod kit for the G9 model (this is specefic for mounting GFX card's inside the G9), just received 4 x HP DL G9 with Tesla K40 in all 4 of them for a project, expecting to get 2 more of them.
HI Rasmus I think this will be fine, if it works,,, I wouldn't expect this to be used mush. Nice,,, those Tesla K40 are kind of pricy,, good toys,, i hope! I'll trade you a SUN server :-) Thank you for watching! :-)
Why didn't they decide to use some graphics card with blower style cooler? Or do server fans generate that much pressure that air will be pushed out right after graphics card will "use" it?
I wonder if it's possible to simply remove the fans and shroud from the original card and just rely on the server's cooling to cool it. (The fins are running the correct direction, so maybe?) Might have even allowed you to use the original expansion slot bay and not bought the expansion one.
I'm guessing that the reason they have gone for the GTX960 is because it does hardware H264 encoding which is likely what they will be using for streaming. I do exactly the same myself with exactly the same card.

I don't know who bought the GPU, but if he/she knew it would be for a server, they are many other versions that would be much easier for you to fit in.
