- A game changing midge that is ultra quick to tie and has saved many a day for me on both river and still waters. Here I tie a red body but green, grey and black also work very well.
Hook: Mustad Heritage C49X # 18
Tying thread: Sheer 14/0 Red
Rib: Ultra wire bright silver
Thorax: Peacock herl
Head: Glass bead Спорт
Lovely - another midge pattern to add to my growing collection. With the decline in hatches of so many flies on our Irish rivers it really helps to try out a few midges any time of day or evening. Thanks Barry!
Many thanks Colm! Good luck with it.
Mr. Clark I have subscribed to your channel and cannot believe some of the patterns you have created. I have gone back and watched your videos and what you share takes decades or even generations to get where you are. I tie mostly panfish jigs for crappie and also for smallmouth bass here in the southern state of Alabama and I have learned several techniques from you that I thought I would never be able to do. Your knowledge and ability to teach is amazing. I will say that some of your fly patterns are so beuriful...they deserve to be in a display case and never see the water. You Sir are a legend in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and thanks for being an outstanding teacher.
Thank you Alex, I'm so pleased that you have found the tutorials helpful and are adding new techniques to your tying.
Very nicely tied,thank you Barry.
Glad you enjoyed it John.
Thank you sir, I will be adding the wings to my patterns!
Sounds great Chris!

Very welcome Mark.

Thank you Gary.
Beautiful!! Can't wait to try it on our Missouri trout. Thank you Sir.
My pleasure Dennis.
Well done, Barry.
Thank you James.
Perfect little bug
Thanks Rocky.
really swee fly!... simple but elegant... will tie a few of these ... thanks again . < J
Glad you like them!
Sweet fly Barry, my alt is to forgoe the wire, but add epoxy to the back of the glass bead creating a tapered body before tieing, "serendipitous mistake" from being interrupted while tying. "Always secured my beaded fly's with inner glue"
Thanks for the tip Brian!
@@Thefeatherbender I'm just brutal on my flies, I bounce them off of rocks, bridges, etc. I have to make them tough.
@@Thefeatherbender The trick is to use mylar to shape the epoxy it's about the only thing it doesn't stick to. lol
@@Thefeatherbender I also use epoxy to add shape to some of my minnow bodys, it's even carvible with a dremel and the right bit.
Hi Barry Enjoyed your tying, can you tell me who stocks these hooks in the UK
Thanks Graham, no one yet.
And comment to drive the algorithm...... 😁
And a reply...
