  • Another winging technique that gives a realistic flat lying wing, ideal for midges and stoneflies. With this technique all you have to do is change the hook size and colour and you can cover most small stonefly hatches. There is also a useful cdc dubbing technique that produces two types of dubbing in one.

    Yet another simple, but brilliant tying technique from a master Tyer. I don’t really tie many Wonder Wings, but I may do so now. I’ve basically relied on stiffening and drying hen feathers with Sally Hansen’s or UV resin and tying them in flat for the sone fly wings. Thanks to you, in the last few years, I’ve renewed my Wally Wing implementation. Kudos, my friend!

    I have used this wing type and It is only good for one fish. Yes, it is pretty but the wings are destroyed by the first fish! Why don't you post a disclaimer? Any feather's ribs are fragile and even a small fish's teeth will damage the fly. If you want to post fly patterns, at least have the courtesy to be honest about the negative aspects of the tie!

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 года назад

      Hi Fishing NZ, I have also fished this pattern and many more with wonder wings, origami wings and Wally wings just to name a few. I also fish fully dressed classic salmon flies for salmon, it what ever floats your boat. Pescator non solum Pescatur.

      2022. Two years on from your comment, it's still unnecessarily rude, and ungrateful towards someone who does so much for the tying community. And you might also consider that using a fly that good and imitative, could just be the difference between one fooled trout and a blank.

      Do you see now why Sportsman’s Warehouse will never carry these flies?
