The stock Redline is torque managed to 260 HP and 260 Torque (mods would make no difference, computer would "learn back down" to 260/260 after a few key cycles). Your car has the 3 Bar Sensors (blue colored label on Map and TMap, the stock 2.7 bar sensors have no blue lable): So you probably have the GMPP tune, Torque management is basically disabled (raised way up to where you wont exceed unless you swap a giant turbo). GMPP tune with no additional mods = 290 HP and 340 Torque. Add a High Flow CAT, Bigger intercooler and a couple other little tricks, and you will be at 325-350 HP and 380-400 Torque. With the GMPP tune you should be seeing 23 lbs of boost under full load at sea level (60 MPH in 4th, and then WOT, should observe 22-24 lbs). The stock tune would only pull about 18-19 lbs in same conditions. If you still have the stock Intercooler, you probably have a boost leak right there. If you still have the stock clamps on the hoses, you probably have a boost leak. Pressure Test the Charge System, find the boost leaks. GM has the computer set pretty loose, you basically have to have a large crack in the IC, before it will through a code. (P0101 for air charge leak).
Gm tune will be at 290 and 340 regardless of any other upgrades. It won’t increase power with a IC, hfc, or anything else. It needs a retune to compensate for those.
@@ohboy2592 Actually, The GMPP Tune will allow additional improvements without a retune, to a certain degree. The GMPP tune raises the tables to levels above what you would get to with just an IC and HFC, so it will "Learn Up" with these modifications. If you go Larger Turbo, then you will have issues and need a retune. I have proven this on a Dyno.
Bro. What would you recommend for a 2008 Saturn sky non turbo for performance mods?????
I hope you still see this 🙏
CLICKBAIT: the car did not 'break down'. The buyer is a goof.
Hehe you are right about that
We put oem aut box back, fixed air leaks on turbo system and now it’s all good.
That cold air intake doesn’t work with current computer map
Thanks for watching
Still have mine with 20k miles runs like new. Just Love it hope to keep it forever. Just wish the ride was a little softer. And hate the cup holders. Remember premium gas only in the 2.0 engine.
Honestly this car is fun man. I have an MX5 Miata and my buddy has a Sky Redline, I much prefer the Redline but it's hard to find one with decent mileage that's just not totally beaten up. You can also get the Trifecta tune for it which bumps power by quite a bit. Parts for it are also pretty cheap as well.
The most fun for the money you can get
There’s one in the Chicago Suburbs for $24k with 8.5k miles in stick
Now thats pricey
@@konradjaworski3222 Dang. Pretty low mileage indeed but not sure why the original owner did not drive it more. It's a bit strange because even though it looks exotic, it's just a regular GM car so I'm very surprised that anyone would've thought that it would eventually become a collectors' car or anything like that.
Your basic sky with a 5 speed stick is far more reliable. Its the sweet spot on car and performance.I dont really care to do donuts. I love the design and look. thats where its at. Look and Reliability.
Yep, I bought 2 of them. One redline and one Base model. Both cars are excellent. I love driving either.
Small pocket rockets
To bad they they don’t make them anymore
I have a 07 Pontiac solstice I am done the wastegate and deactivated my turbo but mine still has plenty of get-up-and-go and it runs a whole lot cooler
I can see why you have so few subscribers.
Very cool car!
The solstice was in transformers
its not a race car a daughter car hahahahahha take it easy on the 4 banger
Hehe it got turbo and 300hp 🤔
@@MotorHead963 pretty good .. 😄 your daughter will go fast 😂 I am getting one for my daughter seriously.. l love those cars so cool I do have to get one .. my daily driver is a 1997 mustang check my videos only 360 hp but fun to drive .. and 87 octane
dose a 6foot2 fit comfortable in this car at the wheel?
Where in the video did it “break down”?
From 3 minutes to 6 minutes in the video?
@@BN99239 It didn't break down. The turbo just didn't work.
What was the mileage upon purchase?
Dang… like 160k … all highway
@@MotorHead963 Cool, do you know how many miles on it now? Does he still have it, any issues?
Ja też kuiłem 08 redline (same exact color, literally exact car haha). 130k miles, all stock.
@@MotorHead963 Also, do you know if the timing chain was done for it, having 160k miles? I have 130k on mine and was thinking about doing it soon. The manual says to do it around 150
It’s undknow if it was done, but my buddy it’s thinking about doing that soon.
Ale you in Chicago area?
@@MotorHead963 Nah, I'm in NJ. I've been to Chicago before (for the WANTA polish picnic a few years ago) haha
BORING!!
